I wouldâve put 0 stars if I couldâve !So I paid for my appointment 3 months in advance and 1 month before my appointment they called telling me my appointment was the next day. I informed them my appointment was for the following month at 8 am, I was told I can âswitchâ to that date but 8 am was no longer available keep in mind I paid 90 dollars for that date and time, they also couldnât find the record of my deposit so I had to go through my bank records. So I get there at 10:30 for my 11:00 appointment it starts off well but then after my wash I sat around for 3 hours waiting ( they were over booked) then my hair got blow dried and I waited for a trim then a braid up then the tracks and style. 4 different women were in my head I asked for my edges to not be braided and they were, they changed the price by 10 dollars in the 24 hours I was told my price. They gossip and talk about the clients right there in front of us and for all the money we pay we shouldnât have to be there for 12 hours. I didnât get home until 10 at night because they are greedy and donât care about our time they purposely wash your hair so youâre stuck there waiting. Then to gossip about us right in front of us, make faces and smart comments. They charge way too much money for the way they conduct business we are not cattle and I work hard for my money. I donât know what was worse, the mix up with my date and time, the mix up of losing my deposit , the 12 hour full day , or the way they make faces and gossip about us while we are still there! Save your money ! The trick is that they trim your hair before braiding and use tea tree oil and almond oil in their hair products. Thatâs it, donât fall for the Instagram hype, they are overrated, rude, unprofessional, and overpriced! They donât even offer you refreshments or some type of credit or discount for the inconvenience and to see theyâve been doing this for years! Just greedy Iâm not about to contribute to anyoneâs lifestyle especially when I donât feel appreciated and valued as a customer. This is the worse salon experience of my life I cried when I got home! Also another review stated that the braiders ask each other for help, thatâs true when they are learning and I had someone practicing on my head today too! She needed help and the girl came over and did it for her and sewed the cap on so tight I had to have tonya loosen the cap before putting the tracks on, also Tanya said she doesnât know how to not sew the tracks on too tight . Idk it just seems they are all in there to make about 10,000 a day and they dgaf about the customers. Almost 500 dollars and Iâm in pain, Iâm humiliated, and Iâm really disappointed, also THERE IS NO SECRET, TRIM YOUR HAIR BEFORE EACH INSTALL, PUT TEA TREE OIL IN YOUR SHAMPOO & CONDITIONER, USE ALMOND OIL AND ADD TEA TREE OIL TO THAT, THATS LITERALLY ALL THEY DO! DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY! OVERPRICED, RUDE, & UNCOMFORTABLE! Such a disappointment, I left an honest review on yelp and they had it removed. Stay away from them donât let them use you to keep up their over their means lifestyles EDITED to add: they lied to Yelp and had my Yelp review removed, I will be...
Read moreI went to the LA Location I have been so disappointed in this salon's service, skill and professionalism. I went to get my hair done on 7/13. I was excited to visit what was suppose to be highly trained professionals to help me on my hair growth journey. Upon arriving at the salon it took them over an hour to just get started on my hair. my first concern started when getting my hair washed. I have thick hair but thin strands and felt like the stylist was raking through my strands rather then taking the time to comb out my hair. I brought my own conditioner since I was allergic to their conditioner. after washing the hair 3 times, the stylist put the conditioner on my hair and sat me under the dryer. after about 30 minutes under the dryer, she went to rinse out my conditioner and then continued to shampoo my hair 2 more times all while commenting "your hair is so dry". I found this to be interesting because any trained stylist knows that if your hair is dry over shampooing the hair will only exacerbate the existing issue. Furthermore, I ask them to braid my hair down versus in a beehive since my hair tends to mate in a beehive pattern to which they told me they could not oblige. My last main issue was concerning the net. The net they use on the hair tends to bleed dye and can irate my scalp due to the bleeding. I brought my own net which is almost identical to the net they use to which the weave stylist (not Tonya) and manager Brandi told me that they wouldn't be able to use my net. This was even more alarming to me since I was under the impression I was booking with trained stylist and this clearly was not the case. I emailed them the day after to try to get my hair fixed. After a week of waiting I received no reply and ultimately had to book a new service with a different stylist due to the service i received from this salon. The message says other people will be doing your hair which implied to me that another person would be washing ( typical at most salons) but that the bulk of the work would be done by the owner, Tonya. After the 7+ hours I spent at the salon, she only spent 10 minutes trimming my hair. Last thing I'll mention is I even reached out to Brandi directly to which I received an aggressive and dismissive response, suggesting that if I had a problem I should of just walked out during my appointment. Overall, this salon is not worth the money and I would suggest you go just about anywhere else since Tonya more then likely won't touch your hair for more then 10 minutes of a 7+ hour salon visit and while the other employees do seem that they are trying their best, they aren't yet skillful enough to deliver on the value, service, and style that Dreamgirls advertised. I really hope in the future this salon will consider providing tiered pricing that matches the skill level of their employees or just employing more experienced stylist so that patrons paying a premium for this service can get what they expect, advertise...
Read moreLadies please save your money and time by NOT patronizing this salon. The quality of hair care provided isn't worth the long hours spent in the salon and mistreatment you'll receive as a client.
I've been patronizing Dreamgirls for nearly 5 years. My stylist was Tiffany and I must say she is unprofessional and lacks the ability to effectively communicate with clients. For example, It takes her several days to provide availability and overall feedback regarding your appointments. No one at the salon answers the phone. If you're lucky enough to receive an appointment, be prepared to sit in the salon for 5+ hours or even longer if you are booked for an install. Tiffany wiill make ZERO effort to adjust her schedule to accommodate you if she's mistakenly booked you for a date she isn't available. Most recently, I had an appt scheduled for a weave removal. 3 business days before my appt, Tiffany sends a text stating she's actually off the day she booked my appt. After delayed responses for a resolution to ensure my weave could be taken down on or before my initial appt, I receive a response several hours later at the end of the next business day stating another stylist can take my weave down at a time I'm scheduled to be out of town, which I had already communicated to her. I was given nothing but passive aggressive excuses (see attached screenshots) and no true effort to correct her error. Tiffany stated she did her best to accommodate me. If attempting to schedule me with another stylist during a time I'm scheduled to leave town is her best, I'd hate to see her worse. She claims her assistant can't come in when she isn't there AND that her wrist is sprained. This is totally unacceptable. Tiffany could have stepped in to take it down but she never offered this as an accommodation to correct her mistake. What type of business are they running? Definitely not 1 I will continue to spend my money with any longer.
My advice to Dreamgirls is improve your customer service skills and start treating your customers like you value their business. Stop overbooking clients, hire a receptionist, and develop a plan to decrease the turnover of assistants to ensure they are available to help you run a...
