I was recommended to this place by a friend and unfortunately I was highly dissatisfied and disappointed by not only the food but also the ambiance and cleanliness. Our first order consisted of must go to Tom kha ga soup. As I read the menu I was surprised to see that the soup contained cabbage. We have been to many Thai places but I had never seen cabbage as part of the soup however I do not claim to be Thai or be an expert on Thai cuisine so I just considered that this ingredient might be a regional recipe or that the previous experiences might had been all Americanized. Well as soon as I tasted the soup I could taste that the distinct flavor of the galangal and the keffir leaves were missing, also the sweetness of the coconut milk was overpowering and I felt like I was drinking a sweet drink. as I mixed the soup with the rice, the rice tasted like sweet sticky rice. Our second order was the duck Curry and as expected from first having the soup the sweetness of the curry was overpowering and the duck was chewing and did not taste fresh. In addition to the food the place , specially the women's bathroom were not clean and it only had an air dryer to dry hands. Well, touching the handle of the door without a paper towel is the same as touching the water in the toilet. All in all I appreciate the fast service , but unfortunately I would not recommend this place unless the person is someone u...
Read moreThis restaurant location has been open for decades, and that is a testament to the quality and deliciousness of food. Offers a slightly different flavor profile from other usual Thai places. Got a lot of food to re-acquaint ourselves with their offerings. We came in for a very late Wednesday dinner, no waiting. Glass noodles soup is full of vegetables and sliced tender chicken breast - a good alternative to the usual Tom Yum or Tom Gha kai, which are spicy. We got Hainan chicken : breast steamed over rice with aromatics. Comes with a side of clear broth and a tasty dipping sauce. Green chicken curry is aromatic and also sweet from the coconut milk. Not as spicy as other spots, but still delicious. Steamed swai fish fillets with lime garlic sauce - slightly spicy, tender white fish, boneless. Pad see ew served with brown sauce , sliced gai lan and we added shrimp to this dish. Flat noodles were tasty and perfectly done, not mushy. Nam Tok grilled steak sliced thinly and dressed in lime, ground rice and onions, served with cabbage wedges and a side of sticky rice. All the entrees have a note : NO RICE included, there is a charge for a bowl or large pot of...
Read morewe have been to this restaurant like 5 times the food is always good. We especially like Raw papaya salad & tom yum soup & Pad thai noodles. The staff is really courteous they welcome you and always serve you fresh & hot food. I really like the way they serve soup it's a special pot with a Fire in it that keeps the soup hot until you finish. We were lucky on our last visit to meet Sweetie "the very humble lady owner" she told us a small story about how she started the restaurant and how she is always there when an order is being cooked. Now I know why the food is consistently good and the same taste from last so many years. She was very cautious and was packing a big food order while talking to us. We walk out satisfied & happy on every single visit & so I thought to make people aware of this hidden gem in Cypress. I promise you if you will go once you will be addicted to their most authentic food & super clean restaurant. Thanks, Sweetie & thanks to all servers who made our every...
