Loft Hawaiian Grill — Restaurant in Cypress

I haven’t been to this establishment in Cypress for awhile. The Loft has always been my go to for Hawaiian BBQ. On my recent visit, I waited for 20 + minutes, which in my opinion is unacceptable. There was only one other dine in customer in the restaurant around 8 pm. My low rating is purely on the cleanliness of the restaurant only. The floors felt like someone spilled oil on it and even with rubber sole shoes, I felt like I could slip and fall. Very unsafe and quite frankly a safety hazard. The walls were disgusting with what I assumed food splatter. There is also a silk plant by the condiment area that was filled with built up dust and grease, flowers are supposed to be beautiful and enjoyable to look at. The tables are constructed with tile and grout that I imagine is filled with bacteria. My intention was to dine in but as I was waiting awhile for my food it gave me time to access the restaurant and needless to say I will not be coming back. Clean up...

My wife and I ordered the Grilled Teriyaki beef, side of Kalbi beef, Portuguese sausage with bacon fried rice and Siamin soup. To start with, let me first mention that instead of the Bacon fried rice, we were served plain white rice that also was mushy, big mistake. The Kalbi beef was mostly bone if not all bone. The Teriyaki grilled beef was sliced so thin that it was dry and hard after definitely being overcooked. The Siamin soup, was tasteless to say the least. I guess you have to add your own seasoning to make it feasible to eat. Pre-pandemic, this place and location was usually spot on with their food and flavors but can't say that anymore about this particular location. This used to be my go to hawaiian restaurant up until I moved out of the area a few years ago. I decided to come back to see if it's still as good as I remember it being.

The restaurant itself is clean with a lot of indoor seating. It was pretty empty of customers for the most part but the employees were still busy fulfilling online/phone pickup orders. I recommend also ordering ahead of time and picking up as well since we ended up waiting for a decent amount of time.

I decided to order a combo meal with chicken katsu, beef katsu, and kalbi and a spam musubi. I really enjoyed the kalbi and chicken katsu, but the beef katsu was a bit too sweet for my tastes. The spam musubi was burnt and dry too, unfortunately.
