We stayed here in July of 2025 after Delta cancelled our flight. Delta advertised this as a "premium" hotel but it was far from it. As soon as our Uber drove into downtown Dallas, we saw a bunch of shady people coming out of the 7 Eleven and the area just looked dirty and broken down. We got dropped off and entered the lobby, which was fine. It had a nice conference area and there was a market place next to the check in desk. The person who checked us in was incredibly nice and accommodating. He even upgraded us to the "King Suite" on Delta's dime. According to him it was one their better rooms. I also wanted to mention that Kimberly was also a sweetheart. She helped us check out the following day. However, that's where the compliments end. After we checked in and we got into the elevators we saw the elevator doors were scratched and the button panel was falling off. We took the elevator to the 18th floor and were instantly greeted by stained carpets lining the hallway, a faint mildew smell, wallpaper peeling, and an unsafe feeling walking to our room. Just walking down the hall, we knew it was going to be bad. Once we opened the door to our room we immediately noticed the horrible condition it was in. Please note, I am not writing this to bash the hotel or to get free stuff. Delta paid for this so there is no motive to get anything else out of it. I am simply writing this to help any family, person, or couple who wants a nice, quiet, safe, hotel and is reading positive reviews of this place thinking this is a good place to stay. I am here to show you it isn't and to go somewhere else because we couldn't leave this place fast enough. As soon as I walked into the bathroom to grab a piece of toilet paper, the whole contraption holding the toilet paper fell off. It was badly rusted and was hard to put back. The bathroom sink was scuffed and looked like it had been painted over and was peeling. The shower had the same peeling and stained look. The shower tile looked new, which made me think it was covering a really bad looking wall given how bad the rest of the bathroom looked. The water pressure for the toilet was bad too and it struggled to flush. The shower curtains weren’t fully on the shower rings so the curtain was just loose in some places. Next, was the bedroom/living area. There were holes and stains on the wall, wallpaper was chipping off, mirrors were scratched, furniture was cracked, carpet was heavily stained - it looked like bad Section 8 housing. The carpet was so stained we kept our clothes and shoes on the whole time. The closet was falling apart. The mini fridge door kept getting stuck on the carpet because it was too low to the floor. There were some gnarly stains on the bedside chair and the curtains were ripped and stained. The balcony was dirty, and paint was chipping off the floor. The latch for the sliding door was also broken, and the sliding door kept getting stuck. The sliding glass door itself was badly scratched and dirty. There was also 0 noise cancellation in the room. All night we heard non-stop police and ambulance sirens, trains, people yelling, and airplanes flying. All that aside the bed itself did appear to be clean. We even checked for bed bugs since we were getting bad vibes from the start, but the mattress was clean. No blood stains or bugs under the mattress. I hate to judge but it did feel like a hooker or druggie motel, mostly because of the bad looking condition it was in. The room didn't smell bad but with all things mentioned, it just gave a dirty, unsafe, and voyeuristic feeling. We even caught a drug bust during our 9hr stay and included video as proof. Don't come here if you have any dignity or care about your safety. While the lobby is fine and the front desk was nice, the rest of the hotel is run down, unsafe feeling, noisy, needs renovations badly, and is what Delta considers "premium" for you. We kept waking up during the night and finally decided to checkout at 5am.

This hotel was probably the place to stay 30 years ago. But it is not the same today. My first interaction on this visit was trying to park. The parking garage does not accommodate trucks taller than 6’4”. In Texas, that’s most trucks. So I tried to call the front desk to inquire about alternate parking and I was put in touch with a foreign call center (Answered the phone as Crown Plaza Downtown Dallas, and you could hear all the other call takers talking in the background.). I was put on hold for over 5 min. Hung up, called back and selected the Concierge/Parking line. It rang forever and got the voicemail. So I pulled up, blocked a lane a traffic and ran up to a security guard at the hotel and asked where I could park. I was informed it was two blocks away in an unsecured area. So I drive two blocks park and start praying my truck didn’t get broke into. As I walked up to the hotel, this is not a safe area. Along the DART Rail side of the hotel is a large amount of homeless people, and from the conversation they had with themselves, I’m guessing people with mental health challenges. It was not a safe area. I definitely would not bring my family in the area. I made contact with the front desk personnel, got my room key and went up. Got to the door, noticed a do not disturb sign hanging on the door. Used the key, door opened, I start walk in and see feet hanging off the bed! Someone was still in the room they just gave me keys to! Went back downstairs, apparently they never checked to confirm the person had checked out, just gave me keys. Another employee did try to make up and give me two complimentary drinks at the bar, and gave me a new roof with a balcony. The room was decent. It’s obvious these are old rooms that have been renovated. The view to the pool was not impressive. Cabanas with ripped covers, nothing screamed out “Come hang out by the pool”. I stopped in the bar, and waited! Finally found the bar tender, gave my order, and took even longer to get my drink, as he did about 10 other things before getting my drink. When I needed my check, I waited even longer as he was no where to be found. Overall, this location is convenient for Downtown activities, but don’t be fooled. This is not a good area of Downtown. Walking from the hotel is a roll of the dice. The cops are more than busy at night, and don’t seem to be deterring much of it. Go 5-10 min down the road for the safety of yourself and property.

This is the absolute WORST hotel that I have ever stayed in. First of all, I think it's crap that you have to pay $20 a day for parking, when you're already paying for a room. But hey, we're all made of money right? So after we parked on the 4th level of the hotels garage, we go to get on the elevator to go down to the lobby, the doors closes; the elevator makes some noise like it's trying to move, but never does. After sitting there for a minute, we press the "" button to open the doors and get off of the elevator to try another one, only to find out that only 1 elevator out of 4, is actually working. Luckily, the second time we got on, we were able to get down to the lobby. So we go to check-in, get our keys and head back to the elevator to go up to our room, which was on the 15th floor. We get on the elevator, press "15" and it does not light up. Another guest is trying to press their floor number and the same thing is happening. Then another guest gets on, his floor button lights up and up we go. He gets off on a lower floor number, and as the door closes behind him, we continue trying to press our floor number and still, nothing. The elevator takes us up to floor 18 (no one there), then back to 16 (no one there either), then I think it was 11, where another couple gets on. We're going back down at this point so we decide to ride along, back to the lobby, to go notify the front desk that we cannot get to our floor. As I approach the counter, I confirm with her that only 1 elevator out of 4 is working, to which she replies "Yeah there should be 2 working but I'm not sure." Um, OK? So we proceed to tell her that we cannot access our floor, to which she replies "Oh that's weird. I'm sorry. I'll get you another room", and then proceeds to change us to a room on the 17th floor. As we get back on the elevator, we press 17 and nothing happens. At that same time, another guest says "Oh, you have to scan your room key to get to your floor" ................ (blank stare from me.) Seriously? The concierge couldn't inform us of that when we CHECKED IN, or when we went BACK and informed her that our floor button wasn't working? Whatever. So we get up to our room, walk in, and it REEKS of cigarette smoke. At this point, I was about done. We went and had dinner a few blocks away, and once we got back to the room and the smell hit me again, I couldn't deal. I grabbed up all of our stuff, and my husband, and back to the lobby we went to ask for another room once again. I was told that there was nothing that they could do because they had "no other rooms available to switch me to" (I call B/S). As I began to get pissed off, he then tells me "the best I can do is have room service come fumigate your room." Angry at the whole situation, I said "just forget it" and walked off before I completely lost my cool. We went back to our room, and my husband actually called back down to the front desk to tell them to send room service to fumigate. This was just before 8:00PM. As we prepared to wind down for the night, I took my shoes and socks off and walked over towards the bathroom when suddenly, I felt WET carpet under my feet. I was dumbfounded at this point. My husband came over and realized that it was coming from the mini fridge, that was leaking. Lovely. About 20 minutes later, my husband went out to get me some ice for my drink, and comes back only to inform me that the ice machine on our floor isn't working! He went to floor 16 - also not working. Got to floor 15, it had ice. He came back up and by around 10pm, we decided to go to bed. By the way, room service never came to fumigate. As we slept, we got woken up about 3 times between midnight and 3AM by people screaming and running around on our floor. Literally screaming. The next morning, we get up, get ready, call the front desk to tell them we are checking out, and as we get to the elevator, the down button isn't working. We kept trying for about 5 minutes until it finally worked and we got to go down. We couldn't get out of there fast enough!...

It is not often that a Crowne Plaza is the cheapest hotel alternative in an area, but Downtown Dallas is an exception. I paid 115 EUR/night, cheaper than anywhere else at the time of booking. But the hotel is definitely not up to Crowne Plaza standards. Basically you get what you pay for, so come prepared.||I arrived at the hotel at 6:30 pm to hear that my room "was not ready". It took some fifteen minutes for the receptionist to find a room for me. I was probably upgraded to a better room, as there was a small balcony.||The rooms have been renovated a few years ago and my room was generally in good condition although the carpet was dirty and the toilet had one too many long black hairs left there by someone... The room came with comfortable beds with power outlets by the bed to charge your devices. One of the beds had reading lights on the headboard, the other one only had holes for them, go figure... There was a desk and chair and also a separate armchair. There was one 0.5 L water bottle on arrival, sometimes replenished, sometimes not. No safe, which was surprising. There was a fridge and a microwave, as well as effective A/C. Wifi was very fast, easy to use and reliable. Noise insulation was non-existent and street noise abundant, even up on the 15th floor.||The room was not cleaned on Sunday, in fact I did not even see any carts in the hallway all day so maybe cleaners here don't work on Sundays?||The bathroom came with your usual US style low bathtub that is not really suitable for taking a bath. The wall-mounted shower had good water pressure, but a handheld shower would be nice. There were no amenities at all, only empty bottle-holders on the walls. On request, reception have me a plastic bag with four small bars of soap, three minibottles of bath gel and three minibottles of conditioner. No shampoo, no body lotion.||Brekafast was served in the ground floor restaurant from 6:30 to 11.30 daily at a cost of 18.35 USD / person, all taxes included. The buffet was average and unmemorable but nevertheless gave you a good start of the day. Here's a list of all the items offered: coffee, tea, juice, fresh fruit, scrambled eggs from powder, sausage, bacon, potatoes, pancakes, muffins, toast, cream cheese, butter, jam, cereals, milk.
