This is my second time at this location. I don’t treat any workers with disrespect ever, as I myself work at a coffee shop. The first time I was here, my friend pointed out that she saw they had a mango lemonade drink online. I go up and say “oh I heard yall had some mango lemonade type thing” and he was like “yeah sure” and I drank my drink. It was great and I wanted it again.
Today when I came in, (40 minute drive), I go up to the register and go “can I get the mango lemonade”, not realizing that last time the worker must’ve just given me the Guava instead as they don’t have the mango on their menu anymore. The worker today goes “we don’t have that” very sternly. I was like “oh I had it last time a few days ago”, politely. He then proceeds to say “well I know you’re LYING because we don’t have that anymore” and he points to the menu where it says guava. I obviously realize that last time they must’ve just given me the guava when I asked for mango and I didn’t realize it, so I try and explain that to him, again nicely. And his response was “mhm I’m sure that’s what happened”….
I genuinely don’t understand what the need to be so rude for no reason was?? I walked in there being respectful and he calls me a liar for a misunderstanding? I was shocked so I went to the reviews and saw that all the ones stating disrespect have Muslim names. And it clicked for me that this was just racism. And then I recalled that the first time I was here they fought over who had to take me and my friends’ order… straight up gross behavior. For no reason. And I still tipped them and smiled as I took my order from the pickup.
I know this response will get gaslighted but this is a warning to other Muslims who want to be treated with respect.
Btw: the worker who did this was Hispanic with glasses, and had a mullet. He was being all friendly to the white people...
Read moreI am a tenant in the Village and wanted to voice my opinion on the most recent change at Buzz and Bustle to not allow dogs in the coffee shop. There are many good coffee shops in the Dallas area to frequent although what once made this coffee shop special was the presence of dogs allowed to come and relax with their owners. This is a "pet friendly" community and most, if not all properties allow pets. I frequent the coffee shop on a daily basis as do my family members and we would see the expression on the customer's faces when they would see the dogs in the coffee shop. They would immediately smile or approach asking permission to visit with them. This was a "community feeling" and the interaction would bring people together to meet each other, exchange names and numbers, and as they made new acquaintences/connections. As you have heard-dogs are like magnets, they attract people to themselves and to their owners. The time in the coffee shop also allowed the dogs to lie down on a cool service to "cool off", relax and interact with their owners. It is now 108 degrees in Dallas during the day and this doesn't allow very much time to be outside of an air conditioned apartment. Dog owners know it is best to get their pets out early for a Wag park experience due to the extreme heat and it is convenient to stop by the coffee shop on the way home. It's sad this rule was enforced due to one person's negative response on the google review. I would say that the welcoming of pets in the Village is a major attraction to living in the Village community. Please reconsider allowing well behaved, good hearted, friendly dogs to be allowed in the Buzz and Bustle coffee shop again. We understand rules must be applied with no aggression toward people or other dogs. Keep in mind- we are promoting a dog friendly community here at...
Read moreI came here yesterday for the first time. Had an awful experience. I got a vanilla matcha and it was not made properly. The matcha powder was not dissolved and as a frequent matcha drinker, I could tell that it was badly made. It tasted extremely watered down even though the color looked vibrant to me. It was awful. I kindly asked the girl working to help with the issue and she was so incredibly disrespectful and rude. I explained the issue very nicely and she tried to gaslight me by telling me that it tasted like that because the ice melted. I promise you I had JUST gotten it and took two sips. The ice was NOT melted. I even told her, it tasted off from the very first sip I took. She rudely told me that I should have asked for more matcha if I’m not satisfied with the flavor. She was very condescending and asked me what I wanted here to do about the situation. I asked if she could remake it and she told me “okay. I’ll take that back” and snatched the drink from my grasp. She did not snatch it from my hand. The drink was on the counter and my hand was on it. She grabbed it from me and it was incredibly rude. When she made the matcha the second time, it was still horrible. She told me again, “next time you need to ask for more matcha. this is way more than we usually put. “ You can SEE the powder sinking and not mixing with the milk. This cafe even uses the SAME matcha which I have at home, indicating the drink was made wrong. I loved the ambiance of the cafe but this interaction left a very bad taste. There is NO acceptable reason to be that rude to anyone for no...
