My first time eating to-go from this place was on a Tuesday afternoon during this COVID. I came here because I travel down Greenville a lot, as I am a local, and I’ve noticed this place often but never went in. So I decided to give it a try. The tacos are good I specifically ordered Trompo tacos and I thought they were delicious. Everything was well cooked. I asked for the Jamaica and it pairs well. (Side Note) I had to go back for my Jamaica because the lady forgot to give it to me and I forgot to ask before I left. The place wasn’t busy it was just me and one other person. The salsa is actually spicy AF and caught me off guard because most Mexican places serve mild. I’m not complaining I love spicy. However, for people who don’t like it this might be too much for you. I don’t believe they have options for mild/spicy sauces, they would’ve asked me. Or should have(if they do). I thought the sauces in plastics baggies was a bit unattractive and ghetto for my meal. The knot was tight and I don’t want to tear the bag with my fingers risking getting sauce over me. I especially don’t want to bite the end of the bag (hygienic issues). I would’ve been more pleased if they were in small sealed containers. I read a lot of complaints but I decided to try it because I was craving trompo. Anyway, the tacos were good and I’m going to give it another try to see if they’re still holding...
Read moreThese people only have ONE cash register!!!! This is near SMU, so you can imagine how everything is Friday night. This was the second time I ordered by phone, so I don’t have to wait in line with the people that are eating at the restaurant. Besides the kitchen, There are more people, but they can’t do nothing but passing the food. Well, since they only have one freaking cash register, and the guy at the cash register is the same guy who takes order, and also the only guy who take orders by phone!!! I had to wait (again) for other 15 min. Guess what?! The Stupid food was cold (of course). I just wish the owner of this place could taste my food and to know if he/she would tolerate and pay for that! This is disrespectful to the clients.
Come on! You have good clientele every day, you can do better with the logistics of this place. You need a better system, so not only one person can take the orders, attend the cash register, and...
Read moreNot a bad street taco. I chose carne asada for my taco plate and the tacos had plenty of meat. They place the cilantro and onions on the side which I kinda like. The beef was fairly bland, and so were the beans and rice. The beans actually had cut up hot dogs in them! However, Mexican food is bland to begin with. If you are eating Mexican food bursting with flavor, loaded with cheese and sour cream and a variety of spices, it is not Mexican. Unless you thought Mexican food is what you ate in Cancun on Spring Break in college. The only reason beans are refried in the first place is to add fat for flavor and calorie content.
Anyway, the cilantro and onion were fine with me. And they gave me my choice of red sauce, which was menacing both in heat level and appearance. The green is for us Gringos. The cost was cheap and the beef was not fatty and chewy. I will go...
