My husband and I came here from Austin for our wedding weekend. We chose this hotel for it’s 4-star reputation of luxury and comfort in the Uptown area, which we mistakenly thought would be nicer and safer than Downtown (our fault for ignorance). When we arrived, we realized in order to park our cars in a safe place, it would cost an additional $42/day. We got to our room and were concerned with the amount of traffic noise we could hear. Our room faced what is evidently a popular strip of bars, as well as a fire station and the valet parking lot. We could hear conversations between the valet drivers and other hotel guests, all the way on the 6th floor. Needless to say, it was not relaxing nor romantic, and neither of us slept the day before our wedding. As I was getting ready for my big day, in the bathroom which was well-lit and had a nice dressing table, I went to open the bathroom door only to have the knob fall off. I was trapped in the bathroom until my soon-to-be husband came to the rescue. We laughed about it, but it was pretty disappointing for the price we were paying to have the room be so inhospitable. The Keurig machine also was not operational. We switched rooms—after kindly informing the staff of our bad experience in 615, they moved us to 809. This room, while definitely quieter and well-insulated compared to the paper-thin walls/windows of the other, was also smaller and without the seating area/coffee table of the other, so it seemed to be a bit of a downgrade which we found insulting. We called to order breakfast in the morning, which we ordered from a menu that differed from the breakfast menu we recieved in the first room. When we got our food, it was delivered differently than what had been advertised and was also missing the juice and syrup for the french toast. We informed the server of both missing items, and he returned with the juice but no syrup. I asked if he had the syrup, which he didn’t. We waited patiently for him to return again, for a third time, and we were able to eat our cold and disappointing $60 breakfast. To make matters worse, in the frenzy of moving all of our things to the second room, I forgot to bring my prescription eyeglasses. I informed the front desk of my mistake, and asked if they could please retrieve them from the room (I knew exactly where they were left) and return to me. They said that there was another guest in the room already, but that they would call and let me know if the glasses turned up. I have not recieved a call, but did call myself to check-in and see if there was an update. The woman I spoke to said she knew nothing about the missing glasses, and that was all she could say. I am out $1,200 in expenses from my 2-night wedding day stay at this supposedly luxury hotel and a $500 pair of glasses, as well as having one of the most special days/experiences of mine and my husband’s life be tainted by the bitter taste of bad service and accommodation. Sadly, I do not recommend this hotel and will not...
Read moreI checked in with no issues. Once I got my belongings into the room, I decided to leave to get something to eat. I was gone for just a couple of hours. I came back and found my room looking like it had been ransacked. Cabinets and drawers opened, safe opened, cushions overturned...I thought someone had broken in because it clearly looked like they were looking for something. ||||I reported it to the front desk. They informed me the prior guest supposedly had told them he left his laptop in the room. The hotel took it upon themselves to search my room WITHOUT MY CONSENT. They said they called the room and when no one answered, they went in. Mind you, they had my cell phone number AND my email. They could have easily called me if they really wanted to. And I would have definitely told them no. You're not entering my room and going through my belongings without me there.||||The staff told me they didn't touch my belongings, but I knew this was a lie. I had placed one of my strobelights (photography equipment) and stand in the corner of the sitting room area. It was well out of the way because I didn't want to knock it over myself. One of the things I noticed was it had been moved to the table and missing its battery. When I put in my back-up battery, I found the light was not working! So clearly they damaged it while moving it when it should not have been touched in the first place. Not only that, upon further inspection, I also found that my bluetooth speaker was missing. I purposely moved those items from my car to my room while I got something to eat because I didn't want something to happen to them while I was eating. Instead, something happens to them in my room that's supposed to be secure.||||I immediately asked to speak to the manager. I was told that is Alma Leon. I was told she wasn't working but would be in the following morning. The following morning I asked to speak with her and was again told she wasn't working and would be in the following morning. I don't know who to believe point because of the dishonesty that had already taken place up to this point.||||It's important to point out that I didn't even spend the night in my room. After having the knowledge that they would enter without my consent , break my equipment and steal other items, I did not feel comfortable staying there. There was no telling what they would try to do while I was sleeping. I instead spent the night at a friend's place.||||I'm genuinely surprised because my last stay at the Warwick years ago was very pleasant. I don't know if it's new management that allows some unsafe and dishonest protocols or what, but that was not the case this time. I'm looking forward to hearing from Warwick Melrose to make this...
Read moreMy daughter and I stayed here for the first time this month, and stayed for a few days. We had never splurged on a 'fancy' place before, and we're extremely excited to be there.
First, you should know that parking is a whopping 27 dollars a night. That is very outside of my comfort, so we had no choice but to park on the street. The valet man was very respectful and assured me that plenty of guests park on the side, and they've never had any problems. Sure enough, we did not have any incident, thank goodness.
From the outside, it is impressive, and the lobby is absolutely gorgeous. The in-hotel restaurant is absolutely amazing, and we both had the most amazing food. Seriously, the best meal I've ever had in my entire life. I felt like this is how rich people eat. I felt privileged to be eating there. My daughter even said that she felt like we were on the titanic! Indeed, the meal was really expensive, but all in all, the restaurant, looking around the lobby, it all felt like affordable luxury.
The problem lies in the rooms themselves. They are FILTHY. First, whenever I check into a hotel, I unmake the bed to search for signs of bed bugs. It's just a smart thing to do. Thank God, no bugs. But what I did find instead were blood stains and hair on what was supposed to be clean sheets. I called the front desk and requested clean sheets. They brought me folded sheets which looked clean, until I unfolded them. There was FECES on them. Not a stain, but actual raised off the sheet feces. Incredible. So I called down again and they just offered to move me to a different room. I asked simply for clean sheets. They then brought me sheets that were clean. But seriously? How can an 'upscale' place be like this? Yuck!
Then as I wiped up the hotel with a disinfecting wipe, I noticed hair on the presentation towels and dirt around the room and bathroom. It wasn't too bad, just little stuff here and there that a lot of people probably wouldn't have even noticed. Okay, no big deal. Yes, I expected better, but it was nothing I would really have written about.
UNTIL.
Until my child and I were getting into bed later. We got all snuggly and then I happened to look up at the headboard. I enclosed pictures. I had to tell my daughter that someone either spit or peed on the headboard but you guys all know what this is. I mean, SERIOUSLY?! How can this 'upscale', 'luxurious' place overlook all of this?!
I am disgusted and disappointed. And I will never, ever stay at a Warwick hotel...
