Small, nice quaint theater. Acoustics were great. I saw Trials of Sam Houston there and it was fantastic. Inside the theater was good, exterior was cool/nice. Theater is located in park-like area. There’s pretty good legroom and the incline is steep enough to see over the person in front of you - a lack of cupholders are my only complaint. Snacks there are pricey too: nice place, people, and theater though. Again, I absolutely loved the play Trials of Sam Houston too. Amazingly well acted and produced. Wish I could see it again or any good play at this theater. That guy playing Sam Houston needs to reprise this role again. Everyone was great tho. Average age of audience was almost 75 I bet. Young people should be seeing plays like Trials of Sam Houston. They’re just unaware how much...
Read moreI want to thank the wonderful and outgoing staff of the Kalita Humphreys Theater for their hospitality last night. From Luna and Jared at the box office, to Ahmed the wonderful bartender, and Tim our usher. Every single one of the people mentioned and the many others that were working the theater really showed why the DTC is an artistic mainstay of the DFW area.
Not to mention the current play going on Native Gardens is worth every penny. Not a bad seat in the house with extremely comfortable chairs. An hour and half full of laughs, tears, thoughts, and most importantly a cast whose performance makes you wish for an encore over...
Read moreReally cute theater, although its age is showing. The production was wonderful, and we love to support the Uptown Players & Bruce Wood Dance. There is a pay phone downstairs, near the restrooms. (So retro!) I really wish the city would put some money into the grounds and exterior. A coat of paint inside would work wonders, and the sidewalks are overgrown and covered in dirt in several places. There is only one accessible restroom here, & while we saw accessible seating, it looked difficult to me. I don't use a chair, but it would be best to scope it out ahead of time or call someone if you need accommodations, to be sure they're...
