Update: After speaking with the City of Dallas, I learned that this litter boom is serviced/cleaned 3 times per week. Unfortunately, the issue has more to do with the vast amount of litter nearby...Please pick up a piece of trash if you are visiting this park. Thank you!
Please clean up William B. Dean Park! Since living in Dallas, I have never seen Turtle Creek free of trash here. It's a shame, because this park is full of nature. There are turtles, ducks, dragon flies, fish, etc. I've even spotted a barn owl (regrettably, I don't have a picture, but it was GORGEOUS).
I believe William B Dean Park could be a clean sanctuary for both wildlife and humans with just a bit of elbow grease.

Read moreAs others have mentioned, this is not the cleanest park. It does get cleaned up regulatory but just gets littered super fast I guess as it is in the city and highly trafficked. It’s a nice place to enjoy nature without having to go far from the city and connects to Turtle Creek Trail and just a block away from Katy Trail so a great place to pause while on a hike or run. There is a spot where all the turtles congregate which is cool to observe. No bathroom or playground so not a family...
Read moreThe creek is disgusting in some parts close to the drain before the damn and bridge..there is an absurd amount of trash floating in still water in the creek which I'm sure is no doubt affecting the turtles and ducks...You would think with the amount of money available around here that the community would come together and do something about it..Hopefully someone will read this post and help out and...
