A Great City Park in the heart of Dallas. A smallish park but with much shade from the old trees, nice elevation changes and seating areas with much vegetation that creates separate outdoor areas. In the late 70's early 80's this Park was a very popular gathering place for young people on Saturdays and especially Sundays. People would come to the park to eat, drink, lounge, throw frisbee' s and generally enjoy the day in this beautiful park. Much has changed in Dallas since those days, I hope the Park doesn't.

As a photographer, Turtle Creek Park is a beautiful location for any occasion or special event. On this visit, I had prom portraits scheduled. The water attraction is a showstopper. Depending on the time of day, the sun creates a lovely rainbow for any images. And since there are so many angles, you're not waiting to get the perfect shot. My only complaint is parking. I appreciate dedicated parking and there isn't any. There are plenty spots to parallel park in the area, but particular with the parking.

I really love this park it is so beautiful it's right on Turtle Creek Avenue on the other side of the street from the creek. The only thing that makes this place bad is that there was a very beautiful statue there from I think the 1930s, it was a beautiful work of art. The park is still a nice park but the most beautiful part about it was ripped up and taken away. The Park was called Lee Park. I did not know what the statue depicted, when I moved here in 96. I am an art enthusiast, as well as an artist. I love the statue for its beauty and artistry. But now that I know really what it was all about, I am glad it was removed. Even though I miss seeing the horse. But, they still have an exact replica of Robert E. Lee's house standing right next to where the statue of Robert E. Lee was removed. I wonder why they don't tear down that house. It is probably because they make money from renting it out to parties. If Dallas really cared about offending anyone, they would tear down the replica of Robert E. Lee's house from Arlington. It is...

I am heartbroken about this park. The beauty of the Lee statue was unparalleled in North America, regarded as one of the most exquisite equestrian sculptures in the world. Besides, after the civil war, Robt Lee was the strongest voice for reconciliation in the south. This, despite his own plantation had been destroyed by union soldiers. He lost more than any man who lived through it, yet refused to invect bitterness. But those who defraud his character today will not read, for themselves, so much as a paragraph of this Christian man's own words. The empty pedestal of this statue is itself an epitaph on this...

I enjoy coming here to walk my dog. This park is extremely dog friendly. There's even a regular group of dog parents that meet here daily to let their dogs play together. However, the park has signs that say your dog must be on a leash and despite busy roads, the group always lets their dogs off leash. I've never had an issue with any of the dogs being unruly. Sometimes pet waste isn't picked up so watch your step, but again l, I haven't had a personal experience of stepping in anything.

In warmer weather, people like to picnic and lounge out in the lawn and sometimes there are events going on in...
