I love the beach and everything about it. I could never understand how people could ever have a “bad” beach experience. Now I know. ||We stayed at Pirate’s Cove which was our first mistake. I admit, this was a last-minute, budget-friendly trip so I didn’t expect too much amenity wise. The condo had Murphy beds so that they could fit a chair in the room, so we basically slept on a cot. The overhead light was one of those cheap plug-in lights that you command strip to the wall of a basement closet or something. The cord to plug it in was just dangling over the cot. Later we found a drawer of extension cords so that the light and other things could be plugged in. We looked behind the tiny tv (that sat on a crooked, poorly built section of particle board cabinet) to plug something in and found a tangled web of extension cords plugged into more extension cords dangling behind the the “tv stand.” The condo advertised itself, with all caps, FREE WIFI AND HBO. Unfortunately, the WiFi network we were given with our pre check-in paperwork DIDN’T EXIST. We turned on the tv to just watch something before we went to bed and only local and Spanish channels came through even though there was a full channel list sitting right beside the tv. I emailed the manager who 100% blew me off and told me to call maintenance. In her condescending response email she suggested that we didn’t know how to operate the tv, told us “well there should be WiFi” and in response to the fire risk of extension cords she told us that she didn’t see any safety hazards and that it had to be done that way because there just weren’t enough outlets. When we contacted maintenance, they hardly spoke English and said that they didn’t know anything about WiFi and that they didn’t do anything like that. ||We decided to suck it up and go to the beach the next morning. Every two feet, and this is not an exaggeration, there were at least 2 dead jelly fish washed up on the beach shore. Needless to say, we didn’t get in the water. ||That night we thought we would go somewhere to get some decent seafood and see the town to put it all behind us. The first shop we went to, I wanted to grab a cheap jacket because the beach breeze was cool and I’m a wimp when it comes to low temps. The cheapest one I could find was 21.99 and we also grabbed 2 coozies for 1.99 to take to the beach the next day. The total came up to $46 and the cashier couldn’t understand what the problem was. I explained to her how to add and since the transaction already went through she told me I could just go pick something out for $10 because “she couldn’t do returns.” ||We were so mad, but decided we were just really hungry since it was already 7pm. We walked and drove to at least 4 different restaurants, all which had a 1.5 hour wait (even the ones that were scheduled to close in an hour from that time) or they were closed. There were nothing but drunks wandering around everywhere and we ended up just finding a Wendy’s and taking it back to our sad condo. Everyone we experienced were hateful and condescending. I will never come to this city again, I’ll leave it for the race car...
Read moreFirst off those are all privately owned. On the web it saiid that you had to pay at check in but the owner request his money at 7 A.M. the day before check in and I couldn’t check in until the next day at 4 P.M.We didn’t arrive to the condo until 7:30 P.M. when he should have received his money. The key for the gate to get into the pool did not work a nice couple let us in and our key worked to get three the gate to the ocean and back into the pool area from the ocean but not to get back out of the pool area to get to our condo and some people gave us a hard time but finally let us out. We contacted owner right away and he said to try pulling key out a little and turning I tried all that before I even messaged him. He tells me to contact the office in the morning when they open at 9:30. The office refused to give us a key the next day so we had no access to beach or pool and nobody would let us in. The folling day we were finally able to purchase a key after owner told me he had to order one and his cleaner would drop off the following day. So the owner took my money but wanted me to go 4 days without pool or beach access when I paid to have pool access and beach front property that I couldn’t use! I paid for 5 nights! I’m not happy! He did reimburse me for the key but this never should have happened! Goes to show how often they go check their condos! The condo was infested with roaches so many people were complaining because they also was in a roach infested condo! The owner says they are waterbugs! I live in Michigan and when you have roaches your considered dirty and I’m not okay with roaches! We took all of our laundry to the laundry mat had to go through turn everything inside out, go through pockets! We left all of our laundry in our car after that! We threw away all the food we purchased after we had went shopping the night before because I was not nor was my family eating anything a roach could have touched! Just sick! A maintained man there told us the whole building was infested and had been for quite some time! They should have to disclose that before renting! My son fell through the pullout couch because it was ripped because they failed to maintain their condo. The maintainer man fixed it with duck tape! The owner said he sticks to high standards and would refund us for two night the day we checked out August 7th still no money and he pushed it back saying we would get our money September 10th. I’m sorry but for almost 3 days I didn’t get what I paid for but he made sure he got his money and didn’t keep his word! I will never rent from this man or Pirates Cove ever again! G22 was our condo number stay far away! The view is beautiful but sleep...
Read moreVery over priced. They advertise as apartments but they are just hotel rooms with a kitchen. They have coffee maker but no supplies to make coffee. They only have a shower in the bathroom no tub. Our room had tile but my sister's family had stained up carpet. The bed sheets were very low grade and scratchy. The balcony had 2 chairs one of which was broke. They were high sitting chairs so easy for a child to climb on and fall from the small balcony. The pool is not heated, and was actually colder than the ocean was, it was spring break so the ocean was still cold. The day time temps were warm enough to swim had the pool been heated. They only gave us one set of keys so either everyone had to go so the door could be locked or the pool/beach area could be accessed , or wait until someone came to let them in. There was a laundry area but several didn't work, and I never did get or cloths dried I had to hang them on sun. The toilet often would flush and the women they sent to look at it seemed annoyed we said something about it. The shower at one time had a towel rack but only part of it remained . The shower took forever to get hot and it was hard to get in the right spot to get hot water. I was the only one that had a nack for getting it hot, so I had to start everyone's shower. We spent a lot less in Daytona for a lot nicer...
