Summary: Overall clean hotel (room was a bit musty), employees are more caring and considerate of guest than owners and management.Same level hotel in similar location for better value across the street at Best Western.
I paid for 2 employees to stay here last night. The front desk rep was very nice and helpful, both over the phone with me when I booked the room and in person with my employees (professional drivers). At checkout I was charged an additional $100 for incidentals the desk clerk explained that this would drop off my statement in a few days (which was fine), but then I saw another charge for $250 appear on my card statement later that day. I was charged for smoking in the room. The 2 gentlemen who stayed there are very trustworthy, they NEVER smoke in our company truck and I have put them in non-smoking hotels before and have never had this issue, I asked the clerk if it was possible that the smell she detected could've been transferred from the guys' clothes & belonging since the were both smokers and probably slept in their clothes (they were only there for about 5 hours total, b/c they checked in late and left very early the next morning). The owner of the hotel, at this time, is sticking with the $250 cleaning charge, even though a hotel employee saw my guys go outside to smoke. One major problem I have with this is, what happened to the $100 for incidentals?!! Even if the smoking thing was substantiated, why not take an addition $150 to combine with the incidental charge?
TO THE HOTEL Jenny-You were very helpful and polite, thank you for your help. Ashley-Thank you as well Owners& Management- just for perspective, my company has stayed in a hotel on that exit 4 times in the past week (at $100/stay average, that's $400/wk at least), this is the first time we have chosen your hotel, and that is only because Best Western was having tech issues and could not book us. If this issue is not resolved in my favor that is $400+ /week I will definitely...
Read moreThis use to be my favorite hotel. I decided to bring my family for a "Before School" holiday. I understand times change and everyone has a bad day, but I am concerned about what is considered SERVICE now. Let me start with the Good. Some of my favorite people still work there. Andrea, Alona, and even though I didn't see her, the manager Lona. I had to ask if she was still there and if the same owners owned the hotel. The Bad. There are 2 industrial fans in the lobby. Couldn't use the back breakfast area because of the heat. Florida is too hot to not have ac. I understand it has been out for months. The room was not what I was use to. Clean, but not polished. The damp smell probably because of the ac. Now the ugly. I am use to this staff being friendly and a little quirky, but I am slightly embarrassed by what my family and I encountered for 3 days. The lady overnight Sunday was a complete nutball ( and that is putting it lightly) and not helpful at all. Jada was helpful (when we could find her) but not friendly at all. The breakfast.....usually a high point, was reduced to a truck stop diner or a construction site food truck. The breakfast area wasn't clean, it was hot, the food wasn't presentable or good. My family wanted to go out to eat but I remember biscuits, perfect eggs, on special occassions....grits. It never got better. The breakfast person was loud, rude, inattentive, and kind of trashy. I never saw her in gloves, never washed her hands, spent more time at the front desk, wasn't ever in a uniform. Was barely ever in the breakfast room. I am sad writing this. I have met the owner. Pretty cool guy but he needs to see what is going on . Lona, I hope you are able to turn this back to the hotel I loved. I am sorry to send it this way but I feel like you can truly share this with your staff and they will see this from the guest's pov. My family is doubting all of my suggestions now, but I am hoping we could...
Read moreThe hotel itself is great but Currently disputing charges on my bank card with my bank due to less than terrible customer service. Stayed for 3 days 2/8 - 2/11. I traveled with a card specifically for rooms and rentals and my bank card for simple expenses. When I checked in I was told that the ONLY reason my card was needed was for incidentals and wont be charged the amount of the room as I had already paid though a 3rd party website .. My response was "are you sure? I had made so many reservations for this trip I can't remember what I paid for and didn't before hand".. and I was reassured that I had indeed paid for the room when I made the reservation through Expedia MONTHS AGO.. When I checked out the receipt I was given showed no sign of my bank card being charged. Only the words "Deposit Transfer at Check-In".. When I get home I started getting over draft notices from my bank. I contacted the Holiday Inn national customer service number.. Told them the situation and was told that the Hotel would contact me through EMAIL within 48 hours.. That was a week ago and I have heard nothing. Not only is this incredibly inconvenient it is ridiculously unprofessional. I also find it disgusting that they let the same Mercedes PARK all day under the porte-cochère when their are families staying in the hotel that have children in wheelchairs. I could only assume this is an employee or manager as it was only there during the day for HOURS on end and no where to be found at night for the whole duration of my stay..
*EDIT... Saving parking spaces in the the parking lot for customers ... in the middle of the day is laughable at best.. there were 10 cars in the parking lot at the very most from sun up till sun down on any 3 days...
