Michael's craft store is "just ok" anymore. I first went to a Michael's craft store 40 yrs ago. It's changed a lot. Not for the good either I'm afraid. I was there the other day & I asked an employee if Michael's was going out of business. That's what it looks like. Y'all need to do something different & better. Hobby Lobby is blowing y'all out of the water. Your fine arts department is good. I feel you need more crafty type inventory maybe. Fabric dept.? Home decor? Something is missing. The store in Daytona Beach is dull & dark. Unattractive. Too quiet. The layout is, meh. Your competition is Hobby Lobby. I love their home decor goods. Some people buy the home decor items. Someone like myself would look for the craft & art supplies to make my own. The home decor inventory is inspiring. To inspire design is great. Makes me want to make things. What about getting bigger stores with more of what your competitors are stocking. Classes too. I was looking for a class on the new "Paint Pouring" trend. Paint pouring is awesome! Read moreI went in when they first opened to make a return. The cashier, a heavy set, middle aged woman, was up on a ladder stocking some shelves. She huffed and puffed as if I was bothering her when she saw me waiting near the register. She was very rude and condescending from the beginning of my interaction with her. She first told me that I couldn’t return my item without a receipt. I told her I had my card to look up the purchase, which I have done previously. She told me she couldn’t look it up with my card. She stated she would have to give me a store credit and when she tried, the item wouldn’t scan. She continued to mutter things and mentioned that she was going to get in trouble for doing this return. She finally called her manager. The manager asked the cashier what the problem was and asked if she tried to use my card to lookup the receipt. Long story a bit shorter, the manager used my card to find the receipt (which is what I initially asked the cashier to do) and she refunded my card (which the cashier told me she couldn’t do) Unfortunately because of this experience, I will...
Read moreI actually love this store they have a wide range of pretty much everything you could need craft wise and for decorating the only bad thing was one employee was very rude there was broken glass on the floor because there were children running around and 1 of the children 3 to 4 years old knocked glass off a shelf and it busted so I told a lady that works there and she said "yeah we'll get to that later" very rudely the entire time I shopped and checked out she never went and had the glass taken care of or ask anyone else to take care of it and she was not even busy she was just leaning up against the counter but 1 bad seed shouldn't ruin it for the whole group everyone else was wonderful!
