Red Lobster — Restaurant in Daytona Beach

The awful, foul,, musty, moldy, fishy smell inside this restaurant is the main problem with this particular location. I couldn't decide if it was old, damp, molding carpet, or moldy ceiling tiles, but, in hindsight, we should have turned and left once that smell overwhelmed us at the door. At first I thought it was coming from the cloudy, dirty lobster tank at the front door... but as we walked back to be seated, I realized it was the ENTIRE restaurant that smelled funky! The food was not up to par at all. We arrived around 11:30am for lunch. We ordered the seafood feast and the kids chicken strip meal. It seemed to take a very LONG time to get our food to the table, considering there was only one other party of 3(?) in the resturant at the time. The cheddar biscuits tasted like old greasy, stale flour. This was quite the disappointment, since that was the main item my grandchild was craving and really looking forward to enjoying. My very small house salad was mediocre at best, since it contained several large chunks of lettuce core and hardly anything else. The fries that came with the kids meal were undercooked. The fried seafood tasted good, as did the kids fried chicken strips. We always enjoy our OTHER Red Lobster restaurants, but will NEVER go back to this particular location on International Speedway Blvd in Daytona Beach. Truthfully, I'm embarrassed to admit that we actually stayed there with that stench and ATE anything!!! (Hangry & cheddar biscuit craving initially drove us to endure the smell) Hopefully we weren't breathing mold...

Stopped in after the Rocket did not go off with our party of 7 at 5:30pm. First the entrance is so dark that it's almost uninviting. Stood for several moments before someone came to us in the mostly empty restaurant. They set our table and Don our server (he did a great job) took drink orders then food. Tick Tock..clock ⏰ it took forever to come out. Biscuits arrived and should have been our first warning ⚠ that the kitchen was off as they were under cooked and soft. Bill ordered the Fish & Chips $13.99 and even though it said it came with 2 sides was only able to get 1...? Out came an uninspired lump of greasy fried fish with limp 🍟. I ordered the Admirals Feast $19.99 and out came a strange looking fish mix. My sides were Bake Potato (good) and some over cooked limp green beans that tasted like they were cooked more than once. Other dishes of fried regular as well as Coconut shrimp were over fried and dark. Maine Lobster and Sirloin $24.99 were nothing to look at as the Steak was thin and all the Lobster was a small tail. Our overall bill was $156 + tip and regretfully not worth it. Again with guests just starting to return you think management would stop by, thank us for coming and at least look at the food as it comes out trying to go above and beyond. The food was great! "All you can eat" shrimp and create your own combo with blackened salmon and coconut shrimp. The biscuits, once we finally got them, we're hot and fresh (and even good warmed up the next day). I gave 2 stars for service because our server, while she was very nice, she was not very attentive. It was a long time after we were seated before we ever saw her. She got our drink order, but it took a while to get the drinks and took even longer to get our biscuits. We ordered appetizers (Cheddar Bay Shrimp, which was listed as a new item on the menu). Quite a while went by while the neighboring tables who came in after us received their appetizers, but e didn't. The server stopped to see how we were doing. She said our food would be out soon, and I asked if that included the appetizers. Well.... she had gotten sidetracked and forgot to tell us that they didn't have them anymore. It took forever (she actually disappeared for a good while) , even after she checked on us, to get drink refills, and when we did get them, one was the wrong drink. My husband finally had to ask the manager as she was walking by if she could bring our check and asked her to cash us out. She did, and she gave us a discount too.
