I dragged my luggage into the lobby, Is very small and can accommodate about 6 people ,barely keep a certain distance. the number of people in the lobby has exceeded. Anyway after get in the lobby, I smelled a strange smell, so I stood at the front of the door, the door could be open a little longer time. able exchange fresh air in the lobby. The another guest also agreed to it. Looks like she was same thinking as I was. At current COVID-19 crazy time, the lobby of this hotel hygienic and the small area is most need to be considering is it safe to stay. (I never had chance make in the hotel room, can't tell room hygiene) The front desk a girl stood there and took a look without any greeting, almost 4-6 minutes later, she asked how can help, We told her need check in. She said your room wasn't ready, didn't give us a look at all, and just stood there with her head down, without any explanation or approximate time. My husband and I stood there for about 2 minutes waiting for her to respond, but there was not any thing come up. Which we had to ask how long do you know the room will be available? She said she doesn't know. We asked, will you think will be about an hour or two or ..? She said she doesn't know. At this time, she still didn't look up and didn't say sorry or apologize, I asked her if she needed to make a call to ask about time , she completely ignored us. I was very annoyed by her attitude. So I said can I cancel? She said yes but no refund. I asked her is it my fault that I canceled without a refund? She said way it is . My husband said in this point does not make sense to cancel. Then I asked second time maybe you can make a phone call check out the time . She said you can cancel at any time. I was annoyed by her answer. I said what the f wrong with you. She said you can cancel. I said no refund why cancel it, she said I can cancel it for you. I said I paid and you can cancel it for me? Who gave you the right, she said I can cancel, I have this right. Omg I have never encountered such a rude receptionist, This is a terrible start. The service here is absolutely bad. The lobby is unclean and smell weird . The most unbelievable thing happened when we were still waiting there, two guests came in and booked the same room as we did . They have a room to check in. At this time, I really felt inexplicable, finally I realize this is completely racist. The funny thing is that a black receptionist racist an Asian woman, how strange the world is. Because I'm Asian, I'm not eligible to stay in hotels, and I've been reminded over and over again that I can cancel the hotel and without bring any penny with me . Otherwise she can cancel it for me. What a horrible front desk receptionist. My husband saw what she did, decided cancel it ,We change to Home 2 . I am happy we changed , home 2 are very clean and receptionist are very professional , Room...
Read moreA solid option if you're on a budget in the area. I have stayed at more Hilton properties than I care to count. This is a pretty good one although unlike literally ever other Hilton hotel there was no real benefit to being a Diamond or Gold member.
Here's the good...
•Rooms are clean and well maintained. However, this building is seaside so it's bound to breakdown quickly. They haven't yet gotten the most recent Hilton remodel and likely due for new carpets, cabinets, bathroom fittings soon (see pics).
•Breakfast variety is decent. Not the best and not the worst I've had at a Hilton. But, plenty of options to get your day going if you need a quick bite or coffee.
•You're steps from the beach. Can't beat that. Quickly navigate your way through the Tiki bar and you're on the sand.
•File this one under random - but the bathrooms actually have vent fans controlled by a wall switch. Many Hilton properties just have a central fan you can't control.
•Staff is friendly and accommodating. I have to give a very big shoutout to Dwight who was covering maintenence. Our tub faucet was leaking intermittently all night and I messaged the desk through the app. Dwight came by in the middle of the night and completely replaced the valve assembly like a silent ninja. Super nice dude and he stayed past his shift to get it done. Major kudos!
Here's the not so awesome stuff...
•The pool is hilariously small. I wish I had taken a picture when it was semi-full because it was fully lined with people and looked like they were swimming in milk. Gross. My advice - just skip it and go in the ocean. Wanted to make sure to call this out if you're looking for a resort style pool. This ain't it.
•You have to pay to park. Even if you're a Diamond or Gold member they're still hitting you with a parking fee. I'd rather they cut back on the breakfast layout instead of this, but maybe that's just my opinion.
•There's no mini-freezer in the mini-fridge. Just an FYI as we bought ice cream that turned to ice soup. Probably not a big deal for 95% of the population.
•No benefit to being a loyal Hilton Gold or Diamond member. There are reserved parking spots in the lot, but that's it. I've been spoiled over the years, especially pre-Covid with all kinds of benefits...even free waters is huge when you're traveling/flying all day. But nothing...

We arrived at about 3 AM Friday morning, upon arrival the front desk gentleman told us that the check-in did not work through the app and that we needed to check in with him. He goes onto tell me that I still have a $600 balance on the stay. I pull up my bank statement where I have almost $800 pending for the hotel and show him. He goes onto tell me very rudely that he don’t know where that money is at, but it’s not there and I need to find it. After about 10 minutes of going back-and-forth, I tell him just to put the remaining balance on my credit card because we was tired and ready to lay down. Then he goes onto ask me about a service dog which my son did have his service dog and rudely tells me that he’s not gonna charge me for that. We get up in our room and start settling in to find out that our toilet doesn’t flush. Our beds was full of dirt and hair from previous peoples stay. It was almost like our bedsheets wasn’t washed. The next morning I went to Walmart and got sandwich meat and cheese for the beach with some drinks. We stuck it in the small refrigerator, but unfortunately, the refrigerator kept going out and all of our stuff was no good by the time we caught onto it. I also pump as I’m a surrogate and I have to provide milk for the baby and it ruined all my milk that was in the refrigerator, which was very devastating for me. Breakfast was a five star, The bartender by the pool was amazing. The food they offer was just OK but very overpriced. The pool was amazing and the beach access was good. On Sunday, we checked out and left. We wasn’t even gone five minutes and I noticed that my card flagged me that another $180 was trying to be taken from my account. So I immediately called the hotel where the lady said that I still owed another $180, at this point I had almost $1400 wrapped up in this hotel stay. I asked to speak with a manager because that was a lot of money that was being held at the moment which put us short for spending money on our trip. She said no manager was available on Sunday that somebody would reach out on Monday. It is now Tuesday and I still haven’t heard from anybody. Endless To say, we will not be...
