I write this with a heavy heart. I had the occasion to reserve a one bedrooms suite room at your Daytona beach location two weeks in advance folio 261914 this Labor day weekend. In the advertisement for room indicated a clear view of the ocean at a high floor. I reserved it based on this and it being available. After reserving I received a request for preferences and specifically indicated a high floor. On checking in I was told the only suite available was a lower floor of which the balcony on ground level lower floor adjacent to a pool lobby where I could reach over fence and shake hands with patrons going to the pool with absolutely no privacy and almost completely obstructed ocean view with Cabana and chairs. I was distressed as it what not what I paid close to 1600.00 for two nights stay. If I had been advised this was the case I would not have stayed at the esteemed Hard Rock Cafe. It ruined a very special moment for me and my significant other of which the anticipated privacy of balcony view was to be the high light of our stay. The staff was superb and professional, however the room itself had also a stale odor. I must say I expect better than a Great Western and was greatly disappointed in being told that my actual accommodation reserved was subject to availabilities, this is not the way your reservation system is structured and seemed deceptive false advertisement in enticing your clients to stay at the great hotel. Honestly I was tempted to contact my lawyer and spend more money to counter this deception on the part of your famed establishment.
If things could not have been worse I must complain about the conduct of your Session Maitre di Mr. Alex whose initial conduct was very friendly but then took a turn overly so that it became was rude and unprofessional. He circled our table for dinner interjected into our company's, sat down and proceeded to interrogate my sweetheart with personal questions on where we were from, how we met and volunteered his own working conditions, salary and personal life situation. I know he felt comfortable as we are also of Latino background, but after he addressed my sweetheart for a good 10 minutes he turned to me and requesting how I made a living, what products my company's produced etc, it was a bit over the top and intrusive to have him sitting there uninvited and not allowing us enjoyment of our time together for over 20 minute at that point. This I assume can be verified on cameras on Sunday evening 8pm, I was, to say the least appalled and was at that point summarily curt in explaining what my company does. I did not want to be rude as well. It made us uncomfortable and I am sure his intentions were good but unacceptable for its duration and the privacy violation line of questioning. I have saying in my company, " You can be friendly, but not friend's with clients ".
Needless to say I will not be coming back or recommending anyone to stay at your hotels. It was degrading and shameful treatment of guests who paid good hard money to be insulted, harassed and not be provided with what was reasonable expected accommodation's or service levels in every aspect excepting your valet staff, your hotel manager Jose, and front desk who felt apologetic but voiced the company canned response " Subject to availability " a response that would have been appropriate on attempting to make reservation two weeks earlier not at check in. I was am disgusted and saddened that this seems to be the policy of your esteemed establishment. To make matters worse no replies to both my phone call complaints and email in support since...
Read moreMy fiancé and I travel frequently, and this was, by far, the worst hotel experience we've ever had. From the moment we checked in, the service was terrible. It started when the front desk employee refused to even acknowledge my birthday, despite it being noted on the reservation. He was extremely rude, setting the tone for a disappointing weekend.
The room itself was in desperate need of updates, and I felt completely misled by the location. As a fashion designer, I was expecting the “porch” described in the listing, but instead, we were placed on the third level with nothing close to what was advertised. On top of that, basic amenities were frustratingly inconvenient—ice required an elevator trip, the toilet kept breaking, and a third of the TV channels were just a black screen with “scrambled channel” displayed. To make matters worse, the in-room phone only worked if it was on speaker.
Sunday morning, we were rudely awakened at 7 AM by staff setting up for a wedding—completely inconsiderate to paying guests. The lack of service continued at the pool on Saturday evening, where we sat for three hours without a single staff member offering to take a food or drink order. We ended up having to leave the resort just to get service.
On top of everything, we couldn't even book a couples massage all weekend because they were fully booked. For a hotel of this size and reputation, they should anticipate high demand and either expand their spa services or contract out additional staff for busy weekends. I’d even suggest they set up a cabana on the beach for spa services to accommodate more guests instead of turning people away.
Adding insult to injury, the pricing was deceptive. We booked through Hotels.com, only to be hit with a $39 per person "amenities" charge upon check-in—something we were never informed of in advance. When I complained on Saturday, we were offered breakfast at checkout, which turned into another aggravation. And just when we thought it couldn't get worse, the hotel overcharged us by $800—conveniently on the same day our credit card statement closed.
My fiancé is a CPA, and we don’t get much time away, so for them to ruin my birthday with this level of incompetence is infuriating. They tried to offer us a discounted stay if we returned, but I will never stay or dine at a Hard Rock Hotel again. Last year, we visited two other locations and had a great time—but after this nightmare, they’ve lost our business for good. We work hard and expect a certain level of service, and Hard Rock Daytona failed on every level. If you’re considering staying here, don’t waste your money. Take your wallet somewhere that...
Read moreLet's start with the parking and check in process. You have the option of valet or self parking. At $40 a day or $25 a day self parking. And if you are disabled you park for free. So that's a huge savings. The valet guys were awesome. The only issue I had was being able to get into the parking lot, where the attendant has to open the gate to let you in. I was self parking my truck, so that wants on them. They do get all of your personal belongings out of the car and bring them to your room. As well as when you check out. Once inside at the reservation counter it was a bit of a wait. They only have one young lady servicing everyone. She did an excellent job. Her customer service was great.Very pleasant and didn't break a sweat with all the people that were waiting. We arrive early and didn't have to wait for the room.Which was a plus. Once in the room, we had a slight hiccup. The air wasn't blowing as it should. And the safe didn't function. So one call downstairs and we were move immediately. Now as far as the rooms go. The square footage may vary. The first room was a tad bit small for four people. The second room had more than enough space for a seven year old and a seven month old. The air was blowing as it should and the safe worked great. It is large enough to hold a lap-top, two iPads, cross over purse, a lady's back pack styled purse and much more. The room does not have a microwave which would have been great. No vanity mirror for makeup. The beds were comfy. The carpet needs to be cleaned. house keeping comes early. So if you don't want to be disturbed , please hang that sign out. Once they tidy up the room, the only thing I had an issue with was the carpet not being vacuum daily. And the bathroom floor not being moped from all the sand you have on no matter how well you wash it off at the outside shower. The pool are is nice. They have two put it gets crowed pretty quick. Lots of unsafe playing going on. Despite the signs stating otherwise. The birds are a bit aggressive if food is present. They even go into your bags if they smell food. The poolside service is great. Just remember to return the towels or you will be charged $25 each. Sessions is a great place to eat. A little pricey but the food is good. Mr Bob is so pleasant. I know his grandkids love him. If you plan on spending the day at the beach. Directly outside the pool are is a guy. At $50 for the whole day. $30 for half of the day. The operation hours are 8am-5pm. I know this is a long review. I hope you patronize Hard...
