We stayed at the Holiday Inn and Suites Daytona Beach on the Ocean and were so disappointed from the moment we got there. First of all, the front entrance and parking on site are very narrow. The front entrance was already crowded by other cars checking in and there was additional parking across the street where you had to cross a busy street. We got a premium oceanfront room with balcony and ended up being on the second floor. I asked the lady at the front desk before checking in if we can get a higher floor and the lady said they were sold out. She was being very rude and told me if I wanted to get a higher floor, I would have to come to the front desk the next morning to ask if there were any availabilities. I’m not sure why she couldn’t just check on her computer when higher floors would’ve been available, it seemed like she just didn’t care. I asked her if there were any trees obstructing the view since we were on the second floor and she said there wasn’t. When we got to our room, we found out that in fact she lied to us. Our view was obstructed by palm trees followed by being directly above the parking. This wasn’t the kind of view we were hoping to have and to have paid so much money for or to even have travelled for. We got the premium oceanfront room thinking that would mean at least being on a high floor with a non-obstructed view of the ocean. We were hearing cars and car doors being shut all night. To make matters worse, the room wasn’t in the best condition either. The lock of the patio door to the balcony was broken and we didn’t feel safe. The shower was dirty, there were dents and scratches on the mini fridge, the mini fridge wasn’t levelled and would rock when you would open it, there was a white dot on the tv, one of the mirrors had a line going right across and the furniture was all scratched. The room is completely dated and needs some major renovations. There was too much wear and tear all around the room. The hallway is dated and has a weird smell. The elevator also takes forever to come and once in the elevator, the doors take a while to open when you get to your floor. You’re not sure if the elevator doors will actually end up opening. All in all, this was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. We packed up and checked out the next morning. The night before checking out, we notified the front desk to cancel our remaining nights and she told us to just check out in the morning and that she added it in the shift notes. When we went to check out the next morning, the front desk was surprised that we were even checking out because the previous lady didn’t cancel everything from the night before. Finally, we checked in at another hotel down the street where they were very accommodating, room was clean and gave us the oceanfront view we wanted. Save your money and don’t stay at this hotel. We’ve stayed at holiday inns before and never had a bad experience like this...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of staying in an ocean front hotel room, and I must say, it was an absolutely breathtaking experience. From the moment I stepped into the room, I was captivated by the stunning views and the soothing sound of the waves crashing against the shore.
The highlight of the ocean front room was undoubtedly the panoramic view of the ocean. The floor-to-ceiling Sliding glass door allowed for an uninterrupted vista of the sparkling blue waters, creating a sense of tranquility and serenity. Waking up to the sight of the sun rising over the horizon was a truly magical experience that will stay with me forever.
The room itself was tastefully decorated, with a coastal-inspired theme that perfectly complemented the surroundings. The furnishings were comfortable and inviting, providing a cozy retreat after a day of exploring or lounging on the beach. The attention to detail in the room's design and amenities truly enhanced the overall experience.
One of the highlights of the ocean front room was the private balcony or patio. It provided the perfect spot to relax and soak in the beauty of the ocean. Whether it was enjoying a cup of coffee in the morning or sipping a glass of wine in the evening, the balcony became my personal oasis, allowing me to fully immerse myself in the coastal ambiance.
The sound of the waves crashing against the shore was a constant lullaby, creating a peaceful and calming atmosphere throughout my stay. Falling asleep to the gentle rhythm of the ocean was a truly restorative experience, and I woke up each morning feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.
The service provided by the hotel staff was exceptional. From the warm welcome at check-in to the attentive assistance throughout my stay, they went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and satisfaction. Their friendly and professional demeanor added an extra layer of hospitality that made my stay even more enjoyable.
If you're looking for a truly unforgettable getaway, I highly recommend booking an ocean front hotel room. The breathtaking views, soothing sounds, and overall ambiance create a serene and rejuvenating experience. Whether you're seeking a romantic escape or a peaceful retreat, an ocean front room is the perfect choice.
Thank you, Holiday Inn, for providing me with an extraordinary stay. The memories I made and the beauty I witnessed will forever hold a special place in my heart.

Read moreWe have stayed here many times over the years whenever we visit Daytona. As an IHG member we have always been treated well and love the proximity to the pier etc.
This year we were disappointed on a couple things. First the pool loungers (or lack there of) around the pool. Three quarters of the loungers were unable to use comfortably because the webbing on top was ripped away and you sank down to the crossbars. There are a few newer orange ones(about 6) that were usable. The pool area is so nice but had about a dozen loungers where as in the past the pool was surrounded with them. It was almost impossible to get a lounger unless it was 8am or 4pm. Anytime in between good luck.
One of our other issues is we like to travel light so we throw a load of wash in mid-week to avoid taking a lot of extra clothes along. This year we asked at the desk about the guest laundry we had used in the past but they said it was OUT OF ORDER? With that news we ventured out to a laundry mat near by that was far from ideal/nice. It had good reviews but as we arrived the neighborhood was a little scary and the place looked pretty rough. We took a chance on it as we needed clean clothes but lets just say we didn't hang around any longer than we had to!!
Not a big fan of no sheet changes since we were there for a week. Asked for sheets at the desk so we could change our own and desk said they'd have house keeping drop some off which they never did. House keeping emptied garbage and dropped clean towels every day but didn't vacuum the sand off our floor. Side note: hallways were always full of sand and bits of paper. Our room had a coffee maker but no cups or even water glasses. Our bathroom door hung up on the tile when opened halfway which made an annoying noise at night if someone got up to use it. We had to have maintenance come up to get our safe open and they ended up taking the door off and taking it to repair. Things are starting to get a little dated.
The balconies are great for watching the surf and people around the pool but could use a small table for between the chairs.
Marla and Rebecca were very accommodating and the whole staff was always friendly.
We are sad to see our favorite place have issues as it was always top notch.
In the past it seemed like we used to get a voucher for a drink or discount at the restaurant but didn't receive...
