First let me say, I've never had a bad experience at the many different Country Inn and Suites locations at which I've stayed. The pool was nice and warm and we had it to ourselves. Our room was pretty clean, except for a slightly sticky nightstand and a random pillow on the floor behind a chair in the corner. No big deal (to me) at all. Our in-room hot tub appeared spotless except for 2 drops of a liquid that appeared to be water. I expect at least a stray hair or two, but it looked perfect. This was not my first rodeo with an in-room hot tub, so I filled it above the jets with hot water. Detroit water is exceptional and crystal clear. I ran the jets for 20 minutes and it turned medium to dark brown. I drained it and wiped the brown ring with a white towel and saved it for the manager. My wife and I were undressed at the end of the day and just wanted to soak. I didn't notify staff at the time because it had been a long day. We used the tub several times for 2 days without another problem. I brought it to the manager Tony's attention very discreetly after checkout, complete with photos. His response was that their policy is to offer a guest nothing in this situation. 4 stars for a beautiful new facility -2 stars for Management's response to this issue that was reported privately. Please don't hesitate to stay at another Country Inn and Suites. If you choose to use any in-room hot tub with jets, please follow the steps I did before you find yourself in a tub of brown water. The manager reviewed all 11 photos on a 17 inch monitor and chose to offer me nothing but a recital of their policy to give me nothing a couple of times before I chose to post these photos publicly. That's how little management cares about public perception of this establishment. I'm ready to edit this back to the 4 star review it would have been if there had been a more reasonable response. My family and I stayed this past weekend for our oldest sons birthday. A stay-cation. The stay was terrible to say the least. We checked in on Friday. The first room we had was dirty, the furniture was broken and the room smelled funny. It looked like someone had pit blue paint on the walls. We went to the front desk to request a new room. The main guy, Hussan seemed to not be bothered by the complaint but the other man simple said "give them a better room ". The second room was only better by half a point. The second bed was broken and the door didn't close all the way unless we pulled it hard. Our keys stopped working each day. There was mold in our bathtub. The hotel does not keep towels in the pool area so you have to call the front desk and hope someone brings you towels. After day 2 we ran out of towels (family of 5 with 2 toddlers). Our room never got cleaned. I asked multiple times on multiple days. I was told the first that housekeeping hadn't made it to our floor yet. The next day before we left the hotel I asked if our room could be cleaned...still nothing. By the third time of me asking, my husband asked and was told we should have said something three hours beforehand...I did that. So I went down to the front desk and was told housekeeping was backed up because it was a Sunday and they only clean rooms every two days. Well, we were on the second day. Then Hussan said, "well you didn't ask for the room to be cleaned". At that point I asked to speak to the gm. Couldn't do that until the morning. I was so uncomfortable, my toddlers and I just went home. The next morning I spoke to the gm who after hearing about our safety concerns and terrible weekend offered us an upgraded suite for an additional night at a discounted rate. I wouldn't tell my worst enemy to stay at this hotel. And that's not including the homeless people that were walking around freely.

Never stay here! Worst hotel experience of my life. Staff is ill trained and then left alone at the desk for hours. Was almost charged someone else's security deposit. As such i didn't have to pay my own security deposit. But then there's the issue of the room they gave me. There was mold on the mattress and curtain, as well as a disgusting microwave, torn bedsheet. There was a hole in the wall by one of the beds. The bathroom lock was broken and the pool was FILTHY. When I went to the front desk about these issues they didn't offer me a new room. Was supposed to stay for Moday-friday but left by 9:20 Tuesday due to the conditions. When I was leaving the girl at front desk was sitting in the lobby and would not get up to check me out. I wasn't offered a new room until Wednesday. A full day after i had left. I have been trying for 2 weeks now to get my money back for the nights I didn't stay and have been getting tossed between the website's team and the hotel front desk. Never give this hotel a cent of money.

This past weekend we stayed at the Country Inn & Suites for a dance convention. It was clean, they always had coffee in the lobby and the rooms were nice. However, the service was TERRIBLE! I knew beforehand that one of the amenities was free breakfast. Being that I was scheduled to be at the convention at 7am I checked the hours beforehand and it stated that breakfast started at 6:30am on weekends. However, when we checked in they told me breakfast started at 7am. I explained my concerns and a need for a quick breakfast before 7am and asked if there was anything they could do for me as I had counted on it and told all my dancers beforehand that breakfast would be available to them as that is what their website indicates. She just stared at me and yelled “Tony!” then disappeared. When she returned she was quite nice and said there was an error on the website but all the baked goods, fruit, and dry products are usually out by 6:30am so we could help ourselves to that. Everyone was satisfied with that, however, when we arrived to breakfast at 6:40am it seemed that conversation didn’t make it to the breakfast lady. We were told that we couldn’t start until 7am. I explained the conversation I had with the front desk the previous day and she let us in but she wasn’t happy about it. In fact she grumbled the whole time and slammed things around as she was setting up. We couldn’t get any plates and she made us eat in the dark. Secondly, I had made two separate reservations through my fiance’s Priceline account. I made my original reservation on Saturday night and then later decided we were going to go up on Friday instead so I booked a room for that night as well. When I arrived, I informed the front desk what I had done and wanted to make sure that the reservations would blend into one another so we didn’t have to checkout and switch rooms again. She assured me that she saw the reservation and there wouldn’t be any interruption of service. My fiancé came with us and while we are at the convention room service came and reminded him that checkout was 11am. He told her that it was arranged that we were staying. He had left the room and when he tried to get back in he discovered his card had been deactivated. When he went to the front desk to fix it they wouldn’t do anything about it until I got back because the room was in my name. However, it had been reserved through his Priceline account. Instead of looking into this and trying to satisfy the customer, they told him he had to wait for me and so he did until I could get there an hour later. He had no access to his things as they were locked in the room. When I got there I discovered my card had been deactivated too. After I waited in line for another 10 minutes, they told me they had to check me out and check me back in again with new cards. I told them about the conversation I had had with the woman the day before where she assured me there would be no interruption of service. He said he would follow up on that and basically sent me on way. He basically said it was too bad that she didn’t give me the correct information. It was kind of awful that they made breakfast such an uncomfortable situation for me and my dancers and that they made my fiancé wait for an hour because they incorrectly checked us out of our room. They had no desire to make anybody who stayed in that hotel happy which is too bad because it was very nice...

We needed a quick place to stay after being displaced due to a fire and power outage. I booked the room through Choices and was informed after calling that it would be an extra $50 for early check in. That was fine since it was very early in the morning that we needed to be there. ||Once we arrived and received our room key, immediately walking into the room, we smelled a damp smell, as if the room had recently been wet and not dried properly. Due to the experience we had faced already early that morning (the fire) I did not put a complaint in immediately. Besides the smell, the toilet in the room did not flush properly and there were holes and tears in the sheets. Upon wakening, my children began sneezing profusely and my oldest caught a nose bleed and bled on the sheets of the second bed. I called the front office and requested more sheets, they said they would arrive. THEY NEVER DID , despite running into the cleaning staff TWICE on the floor. ||After two hours, I decided to go to the front office and request a room change. The woman at the front dismissed my concerns and said she would have housekeeping come clean the room, as if that would also take away the mildew, damp smell. ||Another hour passed, and we finally received a knock on the door. A man explained he was with housekeeping but had no sheets with him as I requested, and just a spray bottle. Not even any sponges or anything. The head of housekeeping was with him and I explained to them again that we requested new sheets hours prior and haven’t received anything. Head of housekeeping said she would have another cleaner come by the room. At this point, this is around 1:00 pm. We leave the room to give them space and for food, come back, housekeeping is no longer on the floor so we assume our room was also taken care of. No. ||I called the front AGAIN and tell them we have not received assistance, they say again someone will come. By 6:30 that evening, no one ever came. I returned in person to the front desk and demanded a room request. The man at the front desk now calls the head of housekeeping after I explained my reasoning for the room change and she tries to combat me saying that the spoke earlier about the room. I agreed and explained that NO ONE ever came by she literally threatened that her staff would be fired and that someone would come by immediately. I told her and the man at the front desk that was not waiting any longer and that we needed a new room. ||We were granted that and the room was…better. Not the best, as there was definitely mold in the shower but it did not smell like dampness and mildew upon entering. ||All in all, I would not stay here again. Not for any reason. I also never received my final...

I stayed here for work one night, and one night only!! First, i asked for an extra pillow for the pull out couch, after waiting in the lobby for 10 minutes or so listening to wild and loud people ( not children) running up and down the halls and acting like fools around 11pm,and listening to the phone ring with noise complaints, i was informed they didnt have any pillows?? Seriously?? A Newer hotel like this does not have an extra pillow? well ok, not a huge deal... So i finally get into bed around 12am, as i expected, the wild pack of individuals have migrated up stairs apparently right above my bed!! This is over an hour after i witnessed the first noise complaint call to downstairs desk from another unhappy PAYING customer ( as i was waiting for my non existent pillow). It sounded like a heard of animals jumping and running upstairs.... I finally managed to pass out after about another hour of listening to hooves stomping. Still curious how a large hotel like this will allow stuff like that to happen for several hours with multiple complaints... The shower was never out, only had Luke Warm water. The breakfast was horrible, the eggs were watery, potatoes were cold.. The recent snow a few days earlier left the parking lot icy and the hotel didn't have any snow removal Done which led to slush everywhere u step and drive and made it unsafe to walk through the parking lot. I decided to take the kids down to the pool the next morning before I left.. Well that was disgusting, there was about 10 or 15 towels scattered all over the place, several shower caps for certain individuals that didn't want to get their hair wet, a half eaten butter finger melted on a towel beside the pool stairs, a melted lollipop on the side of the pool, a couple pair of dirty wet socks strown about, it was just filthy .. The pool closes at 12am and opens at 6am, we went around 9am. I had to go back to the front desk and ask for a couple towels cause they were out. I would think that the time for the cleaners to clean the pool and pick up trash and towels and RE stock dry towels would be the time it was closed? Right? I guess my logic is wrong.. Idk... I was very unsatisfied with my stay, I doubt ill be back, and i will defiantly have to let my company know how my trip was, even with my discounted corporate rate, i feel that it was a miserable trip when it should have been relaxing! Its a shame, its a nice hotel, could be a very nice stay for someone, comfortable beds, but i think the management needs to sharpen up some! I hate to point out all the bad things, but trying to leave an...
