Club Lux Resort By The Beach — Hotel in Deerfield Beach

This small hotel is very untrustworthy and horrible; they kept my $200 deposit money with nonsense excuses and refused to return it…||The worst hotel, the RUDEST employees and management I have ever seen! They repeatedly lied. I travel a lot and have stayed in many hotels and have never seen such an untrustworthy hotel with an UNSAFE vibe. I booked a room from this hotel online where the kitchen was included. However, after I paid the full amount for 8 days, they told me the kitchen was not included and I would have to pay extra for a room with kitchen. This is a BAIT & SWITCH. They did not refund my money so I had to stay in this hotel. They lied that the reservation page was not showing up on their end with the kitchen, although I sent them the exact screenshot where the kitchen was included in the price I paid. But then they had to admit that the kitchen was included in reservation when I showed them in-person while checking in. However, despite that, when the front desk employee contacted the manager, I was told that the manager still insisted that I would need to pay extra money for kitchen. She was very arrogant and did not even apologize for the inconvenience and their own bad. I asked for the owner’s name to complain about the situation and they lied to me and gave me wrong name. ||I said I would find the owner’s name and complain and I would write all the horrible things they did in my review. Later, they decided to give me the room with the kitchen I paid for. However, after I checked out, they sneakily kept my $200 deposit without my knowledge because I tried to stand up for myself in the beginning by questioning and revealing their sleazy game. They never even sent me an invoice!||I found out that their official Better Business Bureau rating (BBB) is C+ which means there are significant issues with how they do business and they are NOT TRUSTABLE! Many people must have complained about this hotel. Look it up online at bbb.org searching for “Club Lux Resort LLC” and you will see that their rating is horrible.||Moreover, although room cleaning was included in the fee I paid, they kept coming up with excuses to not clean the room. The street walking up to the hotel didn’t feel safe at all as soon as it got a bit dark. The hotel was very noisy and uncomfortable. The room was not clean and also I saw bugs in the room. I had read a lot of reviews so I was prepared for a no-frills motel but overall, I was very disappointed with Club Lux and do not recommend it.||Pros: The room was large (we got the 2 BR suite) and very clean. It was clear that it had been somewhat recently renovated - the furnishings were low/average quality but clean and functional. The pool was also very clean and well-maintained. The location is great - just two blocks from the beach and several nice restaurants.||Cons: Aside from the employee who checked us in (a very friendly and helpful young woman), everyone else seemed very bothered by the most simple requests. On the second day, I requested new towels and that the room be cleaned. Upon return to the room approximately 7 hours later, neither request had done. I asked again and was told that it was too late for the room to be cleaned and that if I wanted towels, I had to place the used ones outside my door. The following day at 10 am, I again asked for new towels and for the room to be cleaned and again, upon my return many hours later, neither request was honored and was told that it was too late for cleaning. I asked what to do with the trash in the room, as it was close to full and had some empty takeout containers that didn't smell good. I was told to just tie it up and leave it on the kitchen floor to be picked up the next day! Gross! Both days, the employees I spoke with were unpleasant and unapologetic about what had happened.|The area around the pool is very dirty - food trash, deteriorating tree branches, fallen leaves, random bits of paper and plastic and cigarette butts everywhere. They also allow smoking around the very small pool - this was awful as it was impossible for my kids to enjoy the pool without being subjected to multiple people chain-smoking cigarettes at all times of day/night. Also, there is an old, unusable shuffleboard area at one end of patio area and a small bench - that area smells like sewage. Not sure if it's coming from a neighboring property or the motel but it was pretty disgusting.|The parking lot is in major disrepair.
