ROOM/HOTEL REVIEW- I had my wedding here this past weekend and it was simply the best weekend ever. I will first talk about the hotel itself- then the wedding. The hotel is great. I will be honest, the first day of check ins for our guests was pretty rocky- prices were incorrect (due to a previous manager), people waited very long for check-in, and communication with reception wasn't always ideal.. BUT once I spoke with Lily and Michelle, it improved significantly, with support from the Catering Sales Manager, Naomi, who was my wedding Goddess. However, even during all these little mishaps, I will say everyone was incredibly kind, patient and just good people. Ultimately, the prices were fixed, everyone else had seamless check-ins the remainder of the weekend, and everyone up in the front was a delight. Overall, I couldn't have loved my stay at this hotel more. The beach location is ridiculous, the views are spectacular, and in the center of town is epic. The food was great. 10/10 stay without a doubt.
WEDDING POST- Not even sure where to start.. I walked into this venue in April 2021 and was met by Naomi (Catering Sales Manager) and was so overwhelmed and overjoyed with her awesome vibes and energy, along with the valet (yes, they were that wonderful), that in that moment I said I am booking my wedding here. I only looked at 3 places and I was THAT confident. Throughout the months, Naomi was diligent, responsive, kind, patient, flexible and simply perfect. She helped me customize exactly what I wanted, ensured reasonable prices, and clearly understood my vision (massive, fun, party). When we finally got the perfect package, Matthew was introduced (Food & Beverage Manager/Banquet Manager). This amazing British fella works MIRACLES. He set the room up brilliantly, the team he organized was PERFECT for the wedding, the food was unbelievable. He coordinated with my vendors seamlessly. I have a big group of party people and they ALL said this was the best, most fun wedding they have ever been to. EVERY SINGLE PERSON said this was the best wedding!! Even the DJ said it was a top 3 wedding they worked and they do like 5 events a week! Overall, this venue and Naomi and Matthew (and the valet/bellmen! LOL) are just PERFECT. I cannot complain about one single thing. The Cafe Med, where we did cocktail hour and brunch) was gorgeous, the ballroom spectacular, staff was fun and amazing. I want to relive this weekend every single weekend for the rest of my life. THANK YOU Naomi, Matthew and the rest of the Wyndham team for the most incredible weekend of not only mine and my husbands lives, but I'm inclined to say many of our...
Read moreAverage Beachfront Property We stayed at this hotel as a family of 3 with my wife and 12 year old son in 2 Queen Oceanfront room # 811 for 5 nights. I was not impressed at all.
Front Desk Not friendly and do not follow common etiquettes:
So we checked in at 5:30 pm Sat March 8 and the front desk staff experience was very meh. After room key were given I asked for amenities and services as it was our first time. I was a given a very brief cursory overview. Also welcome drinks were not given so when I asked for it the front desk guy replied in a reluctant tone “ All I have is Champagne “ and he served it. Why do we have to ask for it and the welcome drinks not served without us asking for it. So very poor first impression for sure.
The other downer was when we checked out the black lady with grey jacket never bothered to ask “ How was your stay” as I feel that this was a standard question upon checkout but this lady cannot be bothered. So front desk staff can use some etiquette and friendliness training for sure and they were two thumbs down for me 👎🏻👎🏻..
Restaurant/ Breakfast:
We had our breakfast all 5 days from Sunday March 9th through March 13.
The breakfast was very average to below average and was very hit / miss . So once the waffle was very stringy and oatmeal cold or Hot water for tea was lukewarm. The pricing was expensive for what your getting. For a skinny white toast $6. The berries with waffles/ pancakes was a separate up charge so a typical breakfast for family if 3 including beverage was $80 including tips which is on the high side considering the very average quality of the food.
Rooms/ Housekeeping:
The oceanfront rooms are worth the upcharge for the view. But remember the balconies are Small Juliet balcony with barely enough room to stand and watch sunrise. There are plenty of condos and other options around which are beachfront that has full sized balconies with chairs.
The Valet Parking charge is $29/day while self parking is $23/ day .
Resort fees only cover the 2 chairs and 1 umbrella. We did find out if you go after 9 am you don’t get the row. So if that matters to you get there early.
Housekeeping was also not great as they missed extra towels and didn’t clean used glasses.
So overall based on all above this is average at best beachfront property with many flaws from Personnel restaurant experience room size and choices and all the...
Read morethe hotel overall is nice, the food and drinks were nice, and the location is perfect. the rooms were very nice I did pay extra for the HEPA filter room but the help of filter system didn't work so they needed to fix that I'm not sure if that wasn't one off but it didn't affect my room in any way. the rooms are nice. the service was less than stellar. I asked for an early check-in as I was coming there for a wedding and we were driving an hour and a half away and they said to call the day of I called at 10:00 a.m. was put on hold told me the manager needs to come and approve that then I called back at 10:30 at 11:00 at 12:00 at 1:00 at that point finally at 1:00 I was told hold on for the manager I stayed on hold for 30 minutes call back no answer end up calling back from a different number they answered and said the manager was still on hold with another customer and they would be right with me at that point I had to make a decision to either get dressed where I was because it was no way I would make it in time to check in and make the wedding. so I had to unpack all of my clothes scurry around get dressed in a hurry only to receive an email at 1:30 stating my room was ready at that point I had already unpacked everything so it was pointless. I almost missed the wedding traffic was heavy and it was a simple communication or lack thereof from the manager which she could have stated that through her employee that answered the phone. I thought it was super rude, that they had information and would not share it. When you're in hospitality having an opportunity to impact someone's experience in your establishment is key. and it was an ultimate fail. No matter how nice the rooms are how good the food is, when the overall experience is negatively impacted it is no coming back from that. and the fact that no one even tried there was no apology issued nothing... it was a good friend's wedding people typically have a wedding of this kind only once so if I had missed it imagine. the stress was...
