Kahuna Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Deerfield Beach

Fun for what it is ... a low key, local hangout with casual eats and low priced drinks. They also have live music quite often which I enjoy, especially since the genres vary from reggae to rock and more. Come with a group, enjoy some fun Jell-O shots and dance the night away after a long day at the beach enjoying the sun and sand. The location of Kahuna’s is just perfect - it’s literally right across the street from the beach and the main pavilion and pier in Deerfield. This spot is also haven to a medley of other restaurants and bars, as well as shops, ice cream stores, etc. so if you’re looking for a laid back and authentic “local” experience be sure to include Kahunas as a part of your night (or day)! As an FYI, though it’s not the type of place you’d think of when you consider going out to eat lunch or dinner, their Limited casual fare just so happens to be pretty tasty! I wouldn’t make a trip there just to eat, but if you’re already there you’ll probably enjoy indulging in a bite or too. It’s also not bad to grab & go for an afternoon at the sea shore. All in all, it’s dive bar fun...

Warning! DO NOT PARK IN THE ADJACENT PARKING LOT! Went here for lunch the other day to try something different. Made the huge mistake of parking in the underground lot next to the restaurant. $21.40 ! On a weekday! By the time we had parked and walked up to the meter machine and discovered the MINIMUM price was $21.40, which gives you up to 4 hours, my friend said just pay it but “never again, “as she didn’t feel like trying to find another parking spot elsewhere and walking in the heat. PEOPLE NEED TO BE WARNED - Big scam ! Not exactly a good way to start the lunch at a casual type restaurant. It’s not South Beach! The waitress said”oh, you could have parked across the street - they have valet for $7!” That was at another fancier restaurant. Guess we made the wrong choice in the long run! As for food, I had fish tacos , which were good , served with a few tortilla chips, (Salsa would have been nice)but my friend did not care for her blackened Mahi Caesar Salad , saying it tasted a bit too “fishy”. No sides...

Happened in here on Taco Tuesday. High end tacos on the menu don't qualify. But I got a beef and a chicken option for the two dollar tacos and I told my wife I could have just got them the meat was excellent. The two dollar taco options were shredded chicken and ground beef. Excellent seasoning on both. I got the buffalo tacos on the high end taco side as I'm not a big fish person. The flavor and texture were also very good.my wife got one of the bowls and loved it! Service was fast and friendly! We got there about 4:50 on Tuesday We didn't wait at all walked right in and sat out on the patio. It was slowly getting busier but wasn't bad at all when we left shortly after 5:30. We have walked past later in evening and it has looked quite busy! I would recommend getting in early if you can. Good food great service...
