There is something very wrong about this place. I stay in hotels 10/12 months in a year. Suffice to say, I've seen my fair share. This is, without question, the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. Let's break it down:
If you have a fire stick or roku, you can't plug it into the tv directly unless, I suspect, you have a universal remote. The input button on the remote doesn't control the tv source, it controls the box source. So you are required to plug it in directly into their TV box. This wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if it didn't destroy the picture.. It's dark and pixelated
There is no complimentary anything. Except ice. If you want coffee or breakfast, you're pulling your wallet out.
As with what I see in about half of the hotels I stay at, there is a dismal amount of light in the room EVEN IF you turn on every single light. My room was facing the west, so pure sun into my eyes if I have the curtains open.
There is no microwave in the room. The staff said, "oh, we can microwave it for you!" I appreciate the gesture but I can very well cook my own meals and clean up after myself, thank you. Ended up having to buy a hot plate. Sorta wanted one anyway.
This hotel is in close proximity to a warehouse that has a loud, long, droning, beeping sound. You will have a headache.
The elevator I used must've had a terrible sensor or something because every time I took the elevator, the door would start to close then immediately open. The close door button makes this worse. Most times, this happened 3 times in a row before I could get downstairs.
Paid $13 for French toast. Lady said it was "four slices". When the food came out, I saw it wasn't four slices. It was four HALF slices... For $13. They weren't large slices either. I hope I still have the Pic for this.
The shower is actually not bad. Good heat. Good pressure. Full standing shower.
One of the funniest parts is that the refrigerator must be clicked every 8 hours in order to keep the food cold. Set a reminder. Really.
I would like to say the staff redeemed the pure unadulterated greed from the company but they couldn't possible make that big of an impact. Big big shout out to Adolfo (hope I'm spelling that correctly). He works maintance. The genius hotel owner thinks one washing machine is fine with 2 dryers. Well, the washer went down and there was no way for me to wash my clothes here. Adolfo kindly offered to let me wash the clothes in the hotel laundry. Thank you, Adolfo.
This hotel oozes greed. It basks in your blind allegiance. It will take advantage of you in every single opportunity. Please, for yourself, for your family, don't come...
Read moreI have been a loyal Marriott Bonvoy member for years and I have never experienced such awful customer service.
First: I pre-paid a room - which is never supposed to be canceled. That is the benefit of the pre-pay. Second: Marriott has a policy that they cannot cancel a room unless they give you 48 hours notice. Third: If they have to cancel a room, they are supposed to book you at the next closest Marriott.
None of these things happened.
I received a voicemail stating that my room was canceled less than 24 hours before I was supposed to check in and stated that I was re-booked in Boulder. Boulder is over an hour away. Clarissa Cordova, the assistant GM, made this decision.
I called Marriott the next morning and asked if this was true. The gentleman that I spoke to assured me that I had a reservation at Courtyard in Denver and there was not a reservation in Boulder. I proceeded to get on the plane and get to the hotel.
Tony - who was polite and helpful - informed me that my room was canceled. He looked and saw that there was a room at the Renaissance down the street. Courtney, also working the desk, called Clarissa. I was standing near enough to her to hear both sides of the conversation. Courtney explained the situation to Clarissa and that there was a room at the Renaissance for $438. I heard Clarissa say "No, that is too expensive, send her to Boulder."
I called Marriott. Mary confirmed all of the above policies and stated that my room should never have been canceled. She called the front desk and by the time they connected, the room at the Renaissance was taken.
I ended up sleeping at a friend's house because I did not want to drive an hour back and forth as I needed to stay in Boulder and was teaching at 7:30 Saturday morning.
When I returned home, I called Marriott again regarding this. They stated that they had to inform the courtyard management and would get back to me in 2 - 3 days. As of this review, no one has...
Read moreIn 2022, I reserved a room at this location from July 14, 2023 to July 16, 2023. When we got to the hotel to check in around 1:30pm, they said that there weren’t any rooms ready and that check-in wasn’t until 3pm. We waited (with a lobby full of guests) and they finally started checking everyone in at 3 sharp. Then, when they started to check us in, they told us that they are sold out and that they sent an e-mail two days ago stating that they moved our reservation to a location in Boulder, CO. We finally found that e-mail in our junk folder and they didn’t send it to us until July 13th (Today is July 14th). She also said that she called and left a voicemail, but that didn’t happen either.
The manager that was there said that Marriott only requires a 48 hour notice to let their guests know when they change a reservation. (Even though they didn’t send the e-mail until the day before our arrival) That is not an adequate amount of time for people who are traveling from a different state to find another place to stay in Denver. Especially on a busy weekend like this one.
Now all of the hotels in Denver are booked and we are going to have to take an Uber to travel 45 minutes to a concert and baseball game, on two different days, that we were only going to have to travel 15 minutes for.
This hotel did pay for our stay at the hotel they relocated us to, and thank goodness for that, because now we are going to have to pay a lot of money for Uber rides.
To say I am disappointed is an understatement.
Update: After arriving at the location they relocated us to, we found out they they didn’t even get us the reservation until late last night..
Make sure you confirm your reservation if you stay at this hotel. I would recommend calling the day of your arrival since it seems like they don’t realize how overbooked they are until the day before you're supposed...
