My first night staying there, some alarm in the room kept going off every ten minutes. I could not figure out where the loud beeping/alarm sound was coming from. I tried unplugging the alarm clock and other electronics that could have possibly been making the sound. It kept me and my kids up all night long. I brought it to the attention of the front desk the next day and they did move me to a different room. When I approached the person who was at the front desk on Dec 15th, sometime after 11pm it felt like I was interrupting them while they were snacking on cheetos. I approached the desk and when they came over to me they didn't say a single word - no hello, how can I help you, nothing. Just stood in front of me and stared at me waiting for me to speak. It was a little uncomfortable, most of the time the person at the front desk at the very least says hello or some sort of acknowledgement. I explained what was happening in the room and they continued to stare until I had to directly ask "can we have someone either fix whatever alarm is going off or change me to a different room?" It felt very uncomfortable with how they just sort of looked at me with a blank look without really engaging in the conversation. It very much felt like I was being a bother to whoever this was and they did not offer a resolution to the issue until I directly asked for one. It was just a weird, unempathetic interaction. I would have expected at least something like "oh, I'm sorry to hear that is happening. Let me see what options I have to fix this". Or just something other than the uncomfortable blank look and long pauses. Whoever it was spoke very quietly, it was hard to hear and understand them. When they finally did speak, I wouldn't say they were "rude" to me. But they weren't super pleasant and seemed very annoyed that I was even up there. I've stayed her a few times before and was planning on using this hotel since I travel a few times a year to Denver. I like that the hotel has breakfast which is good and the shuttle is great. But this weird experience makes me hesitate staying here again nor recommending the place to my clients with my travel agency. I wouldn't want them to feel as...
Read moreHad a canceled flight so was automatically booked into the Quality Inn Ouray- first of all finding the courtesy bus was a challenge. The driver of that evening bus was very helpful and nice, in contrary to the driver of the morning bus who got us back to the airport who wouldn't even get out of his seat to help some clearly elderly people with their luggage. If you want seat belts better take a taxi, because there are none in the bus. The hotel itself is over 20 minutes bus ride away. The check in was nice and efficient. One of the elevators out of order, so it got a little cramped in the tiny other one. The room itself: | toilet not flushing correctly |Dirt in the drawers |The coffee pods must have been years old, worst coffee I've EVER had from the little machine in the room |The sheets on the duvet are inadequate and will expose the duvet (with stains) underneath as soon as I settle into bed. |Some old nail polish stains on the bathroom counter |The room was noisy, meaning you knew exactly when the neighbor used the bathroom or the ones upstairs walked to and fro, plus a lot of traffic noise from the highway in spite of closed windows |The TV remote was missing its back cover so when I first picked it up the batteries fell out. |The breakfast bar was out of all juice, at least their coffee was better than the room coffee, waffles, bagels etc okay, one choice of Joghurt, scrambled eggs and breakfast sausages (no bacon) |The room phone was not working so I had to call from my cell phone to arrange for the courtesy bus, which I had wanted an 11:00 pickup but they obviously only have one bus and that one was already booked full, so I had to take the 10 AM, but what's another hour at the airport, right?|I guess it was still better than spending a night at the airport but if I had a choice I'd rather spend a few more $$ for a different hotel with more stars!|Advice for the hotel: get a second bus and clean that one so at peak hours you can have a shuttle at half...
