Update: Southern Vacation Rentals rented us an unlicensed vacation rental. Meaning it had not had all of the proper inspections. Southern is not following the laws that are required by the state of Florida!||||Do not stay at Beach Resort||Review of Beach Resort||Reviewed 1 week ago||Do not stay at the Beach Resort or rent from southern vacation rentals! We have had problems in our condo at Miramar beach, fl since we arrived at Beach Resort 201. A call was placed to report cockroaches, and other issues, at 6:30 am the day after we checked in. We were told no one would be able to fix the weather stripping on the door because it was Sunday. Someone came day three of our vacation and fixed the other items, but the cockroaches and weather stripping were NOT addressed. We went to the store to buy Raid. On day four the weather stripping still had not been fixed and found more cockroaches in the facility. To say it isn’t a vacation to vacuum three times a day and make sure everything is off the floor is an understatement. To make matters worse the amount of laundry that had to be done as we found them in our bed as well as our children’s beds. Calling to again report the problem Wednesday night was no better. I asked to have someone come mop the floor because it was disgusting, not because we weren’t being clean and had tracked sand everywhere, but because there had been cockroaches crawling across her floor all week with our small children down on that floor. We were told there was a mop in the facility and we could do it ourselves. Day five the weather stripping was replaced. Southern vacation rentals promised to also have Orkin come out and treat the facility. On our last day of vacation we were finally told Orkin came while we were out. On our last night We called to report we had found more cockroaches and was told yet again that a manager was not available, but would call us back first thing in the morning because we were at the top of the list. The manager never called us back. Southern Vacation Rentals refused to make this right for the entire week. They blamed the facility HOA and property manager. The property manager at Beach Resort refused to call us back. We were offered a 3 hour late checkout as a slap in the face. Lastly they offered to take off the cleaning fee, which was only appropriate as we had cleaned their facility the whole week. The property owner was informed day one that no one would be coming to our unit. She was responsive, but when we explained the issues were never taken care of and we were still having cockroaches, we never heard back from her. Southern never let us talk to a manager, claiming the Mgmt was conveniently in meetings or unavailable. A $95 cleaning fee is hardly appropriate compensation for a week of roaches on our children and cleaning our apartment. DO NOT do business with Southern Vacation or Beach Resort 201 because you will be taken...
Read moreWe have stayed in various condo units in Miramar Beach since 1991 and have experienced few problems. Until we rented Unit 201 for ten weeks Dec. 25, 2021 thru Mar. 5, 2022. Maintenance problems upon arrival included broken dining room chair hidden in closet (we repaired with our tools), commodes need float repair (we adjusted and made proper repair), three lamps with no lightbulbs (Southern Resorts person brought 3 lightbulbs), unable to lock sliding glass door (Southern Resorts person brought stick to block door), sand covered floor with no broom in unit and vacuum was filled with sand and dirt (Southern Resort person brought broom and we cleaned the unit floor), silverware and glassware had to be hand washed by us, skillets had food caked on them and unable to use (we purchased skillets for our use during winter), bedroom television was not connected, numerous remotes were in unit with no instructions, towel holders in master bath either broken or hanging on, fitted sheet on master bed was grossly pilled (we purchased new fitted sheets and will take home with us), living room area rug so nasty we rolled it up and put it under bed (we purchased 6 throw rugs for our comfort and will take them home), tile grout in entire unit was filled with dirt and mold (it needs to be professionally cleaned because our shoes and socks picked up filth throughout our stay), shower stall filled with black mild (stall was so gross we purchased supplies and cleaned it)!!! ||||When we called the Southern Resorts number to report problems we reached a person at an answering service in the Caribbean Islands. One should never rent a unit with a number in the 200 series because the floor stays the same temperature as the outside, therefore we always had to wear socks and shoes and the furnace ran continuously. It is very obvious that neither Southern Resorts or the owner takes any pride in the unit; it needs some serious updates, cleaning and attention.||||The property at Beach Resort is well maintained by Newman-Dailey, property management company. The pool area is exceptionally nice. We are confident there are nice units in the complex, but condo 201 is not one of them. Be advised that the beach access is quite a walk from the condos.||||We will never rent another unit through Southern Resorts or VRBO . This is the first time we have ever experienced problems like listed above and posted a...
Read moreMy husband, two year old daughter and I stayed in unit 206 at Beach Resort on Sandy Coy for two nights. To begin, the code we were sent via email did not open the door upon our arrival and we had to contact Vacasa to send a new one. At first glance it was a very nice accommodation, with two separate bedrooms, each with their own bathroom, a full kitchen and living room area and a balcony overlooking the pool. However, it quickly went downhill. There was black hair on the sheets in the master bedroom, the shower, the toilet and the floor. I do not know how hair can remain on washed sheets, which leads me to believe the sheets were not changed. The floor throughout the condo felt grimmy as though it had not been properly washed in some time. I quickly learned that I had to wear my shoes as the bottom of my feet became brown from walking on the floor. I have worked in housekeeping at a number of hotels and resorts, with accommodations much bigger than this one and this lack of cleanliness is unforgivable, especially when paying over $200 per night. In addition to the cleanliness, the security lock on the door was broken. This is a big deal for us since we have a two year old and she knows how to open doors. It would have been an easy fix as the half that was on the wall was still working, it was just missing the half that should have been on the door. Since we were on the second floor and there was an open balcony walkway outside the door, it was a huge safety issue for us. (Those of you without children that are wondering why we don't keep an eye on our daughter, I assure we do. Kids are constantly running back and forth which is why security locks are so important.) To make matters even worse, there was a crew pressure washing around the pool the entire time we were there. Not only were we asked to move from the pool area, but it was so loud that we could not sit out on our balcony. To finish everything off, the management called us and asked if they could send in a plumber to access the pipes of the upstairs unit, while we were there! Such a huge disappointment, for our beach getaway trip. I would advise...
