My family and I originally booked at this hotel because it's pet friendly and it has full kitchen. We assumed it would be wonderful convenient and spacious being that we booked it over the phone with a representative who explained the package. spent over 900.00 for two rooms pet fee included for 7 days. Upon arrival 5:30(check in was 3:30) the room was not ready brought my dog in the lobby to wait because it was hot, the representative then told me we owe a hundred dollar fee for the dog and would not allow us to go into the rooms until the fee was paid. spoke to manager J.R he explained even though they originally told us that the pet fee was included it was false we had to pay an upfront fee. ( total lack of communication between the representatives and facility) once in the room i was completely disappointed if you are purchasing two rooms please be aware that both rooms are in the same room ( its not like embassy suites or Hilton where there's an joining door between both rooms with a separate living room and two bathrooms) i was promised two rooms, 1 king beds and two twins, the room had queens beds which are the size of a full size bed and a pull out couch that's also a bed for the family size of 2 adults , 4 children and and a dog. ( this place is more like a studio for 2 people)This room was definitely to small for our family, i was extremely upset so i went to J.R and he said that this was all that they had to offer and we could basically find somewhere else. ( he was unsympathetic and annoying if in my opinion. So we went back to the room highly disappointed ready to prepare food but the inside of the sink was bigger then the top of the stove.. the burners did not work properly and the silverware was extremely worn ( should have bought my own). Once you pull out the pullout bed it takes up the entire living room space we found ourselves rearranging the dog kennel our cooler so we would nt bang our feet... its great that there are three flat screens but i would prefer for them to use that money to provide spacing in the rooms, or upgrade the appliances. Don't expect everyone to be able to move around in the kitchen either yes its that small( we are petite size family). The bathroom was awesome except the fact that the water pressure sucks and the tub floor is uneven so you find yourself trying to push the dirt water down so you wont be standing in your runoff water. They said had a gym it was far from that a old treadmill that doesn't even keep track of your calories, and a bike that did not work and a rusty, dusty elliptical, they had towels available but no disinfectant wipes. The microwaved breakfast was cool but the attendant was sweet as pie she was more professional and helpful than the manager. Late at night there are customers who loiter right in front of the entrance drinking alcohol being disrespectful, called front desk about it and Roosevelt told me that loitering wasn't a crime and if i felt threatened i needed to call the police. I called to speak to J.R. basically said he would leave a note for them reminding them of what they need to do. If you are driving a brand new vehicle please note that the hotel will not cover any losses or damages even though your on there property. Even though i paid 113.00 fee for my dog there was no area for my dog to go but in the parking lot. The pool is located smack dab in the middle of the facility so if your a private person expect that everyone could see you in the pool. The carpet is outdated and smells, I'm extremely angry that i did not do my homework, i was under the assumption that the Marriott brand was top of the line but this is your everyday motel 6. Go elsewhere this place sucks for families. They need to upgrade this place asap. I felt we wasted our money here... boycott this chain.. i will let my company know as well not to refer anyone else to this hole in the wall.. oh failed to mention that i asked for a room away from the elevators two weeks in advance and received a room across from the...
Read moreWe have stayed here twice now, 3 months from January 2021 - March 2021 in room 110 and July 2021 in room 405. The first 3 months we stayed here we were told breakfast was not included if staying for an extended stay and in July we were told it was included. Breakfast was not self serve and consisted of eggs, ham patty, cheese slice, cereal (mostly frosted mini wheats and kashi), fruit, yogurt, muffins, and coffee. Usually the servers spoke Spanish with limited English so unless you knew Spanish ordering was sometimes difficult. When we stayed in room 110 there were ants galore, roaches, and occasionally spiders; on the contrary when we stayed in room 405 there were no bugs of any kind. When staying there from Jan-March housekeeping never came by to do a full clean of our room (we were told on check in they would come by every 7 days but then upon leaving we were told we had to request it), they did however come by often to change out towels and get the trash. When we stayed there for a month in July they came by once to do a full clean of our room on the week we were moving out (we were told on check in they would show up every three days and we didn’t have to ask the front desk to have the room cleaned); towels and trash were picked up about weekly, however we consistently had to ask the front desk for new towels and trash bags. We know housekeeping did not come when we were gone because one of us was always there while the other was at work. Management was super helpful with any needs like printing. We found the kitchen to be stocked with the basics such as plates, cups, pots, and utensils. There is even an on-site washer and dryer available that takes quarters that the front desk can make change for you for. The gym is very small and has about three machines in it and a few dumbbells; due to the location of this extended stay hotel being very safe we opted to go on walks around the neighborhood instead of use the gym. There is also a small pool in the front that seems to always be busy; if you are able to get a room not beside the pool we would recommend it because often people will play their music loud and smoke pot at the pool which if you are in a room by the pool you can smell and hear. Room 110 had a big desk with a movable table, room 405 had a small desk (we were told that only 3 rooms had the big desk and table, so do not expect to get this). Room 405 was a handicap room, however you would never know based off how stiff the door was to open (it could be shaved down some). Besides the handrails in the bathroom, the sink not having a bottom on it so a wheelchair could wheel up, the lower peep hole on the door, and the doorbell you would never know that room 405 was a handicap room. The shower floor was also really slippery in room 405; my husband almost slipped several times and myself twice; we would recommend adding a bath mat or texture to the tub to make room 405 more user friendly for anyone handicap or not. We found this extended stay hotel to be one of the most comfortable and affordable in the Miami area and for that reason we would recommend it to others and come back again. Because we would go back here again and it was overall a great stay we are giving this place a 4...
Read moreThis property no longer meets the minimum standards as a Marriott, even as a 2 star hotel. The place is dated and worn, including the beds. Cleanliness and maintenance are wanting. The painting, caulking and other details are poorly done with gaps and mold in wet areas. Some staff were friendly and helpful, while others were not so much. The first morning there was barely any food available for breakfast. No milk, bananas, yogurt, pancake batter, etc. The next 4 mornings some food was available, but not enough and they quickly ran out of many things. The coffee is terrible, even in the rooms. The breakfast room is too small for the number of guests. There is only a single two slice toaster. We went to the store and got what we needed rather than face the unknown and deal with a crowded room. The beautiful palm fronds in front of the buildings whacked the windows at night when the wind blew, keeping people up at night. As a result, people were tired and cranky so we didn’t get to do anywhere as much as we planned. The elevator in our building went down on Sunday and the management apparently chose not to have it serviced until Monday. For those guests on the upper floors with physical challenges, it was an issue; especially dealing with luggage. The signs advising the elevator was out of service on the upper 3 floors remained until Monday night, so some folks ended up using the stairs. The last night a cockroach appeared on the wall in my son’s 4th floor room, which resulted in more lost sleep. They woke up to a dead cockroach on the carpet. The dumpster was overflowing too, so this place is a vermin magnet. The BBQ area has grease on the furniture and concrete, and needs a thorough cleaning. The BBQ area is the only outside seating after the pool closes, other than a table and chairs in the far back corner by the overflowing dumpster. This was the first experience in an American hotel for my son's family just arriving from Peru, and they were very disappointed. In addition, there were no visible vermin control measures, such as traps on the exterior or the buildings. The only security cameras were in the lobby; none were noted on the exterior or the buildings or the interior public areas or elevators. The key activations at the entry doors to the buildings were not functioning, even after dark. The interior fire doors on the first floor were propped open, defeating the required self closing mechanism. A number of entry doors had damaged hardware or hardware that was not consistent. There were few receptacles for smokers to put their butts, so butts were scattered about...
