Loved the hose in the shower as it enables thorough cleaning. Loved the options on TV. We watched many Christmas shows. The fridge kept our food cold.
Shuttle service was nice in that my mask was ruined shortly after getting on the bus and the driver provided me with a clean mask before dropping us off at Magic Kingdom. However shuttle service was confusing and frustrating as we assumed we would be picked up in the same place we were dropped off. As this was not the case, we waited in the rain for a half hour, finally getting a taxi that cost us 21.00.
Laundry was marginal as my husbands dress shirt was ruined. It is because LG washers don't use enough water in their wash cycles. This was the case when I used a brand new LG washer 20 years before. At that time, my clothes came out stinking more than before I washed them. Thinking things might have changed. I tried them only to be disappointed. This time my husband's dress shirt was ruined and my clothes did not come clean. When I told the front desk, they said to wait to talk to someone. I waited for a good half hour and no one showed up. I finally went to my room disappointed, as I was tired.
Breakfast was excellent with choice of proteins, fruit, juices. The eggs were great.
It would have been nice to have an onsite restaurant that was open every night. WE were only able to eat there once as it was closed the other two nights we were there. Being borderline diabetic, I need protein and vegetables. The sandwich I ordered had lots of bread, very little meat. I should have ordered it without bread.
I didn't use the pool when I was told it was kept at 83 degrees. I have arthritis and metal in both knees, so cold hurts my joints. I have been in lots of pools. 92 degrees is bathtub warm, but discourages a good work out because it is too warm. 83 degrees is too cold because even working hard, I am still cold. 87 degrees is about perfect for me and safety standards can still be maintained. Too warm water promotes bacteria.
We didn't have a car and were charged for parking even after we told the front desk we didn't have a car. Jim had to call to have this corrected. We are still waiting on that correction.
Added taxes and fees on hotels are exorbitant.
I would give Marriott a ten rating if, the cost for my husbands ruined shirt of $20.00, the taxi ride of $21.00 was reimbursed, the restaurant was open every night, pick up for the parks was the same place as drop off, and the...
Read moreI stayed at this hotel for a one-day trip to Epcot on 04/26. The hotel is about a 20-minute drive from MCO airport. I arrived around 11 a.m. and was hoping for an early check-in, especially since I had called a week earlier and was told it was a possibility for an extra charge. When I got there, the hotel itself was very nice inside. I approached the check-in counter and asked the clerk if early check-in was available. She responded rudely, saying it wasn’t, with an unpleasant tone. I then asked if I could leave my bags there while I went to the park. I saw other travelers had left their bags, so I assumed it wouldn’t be an issue. She glanced around and said she wasn’t sure. She remained unreasonably rude throughout the interaction, so I told her I would leave my bags with the others on the wall. She rolled her eyes in response. After that awkward encounter, I went to the bathroom to change and returned to give my bags to a kind gentleman, then went on with my day.||Before leaving the hotel for the day, I stopped by the trips and excursions desk, where I was informed that I could take a shuttle back from the park and was given instructions to be at a specific area for pickup. When I arrived at the designated spot with the other travelers, we were all confused about which bus to board, as a nice charter bus was parked there but was not the one that would take us back to the hotel. About 20 minutes later, a small, rundown bus arrived to take us back. The bus was clearly not large enough to accommodate everyone waiting, and since this was the last bus, everyone had to squeeze on, making the situation extremely unsafe. As a paralegal, I immediately saw a potential lawsuit in the making. There was even one person standing right in front of the doorway, practically pressed against the glass. Something really needs to be done about that shuttle service because it was absolutely awful.||After checking into my room, I was impressed by how nice and spacious it was. The room was aesthetically pleasing and had a great vibe. However, when I got into the shower, I immediately noticed blonde and brown hair on the walls, along with dirt. Since my hair is red, I knew it wasn’t mine. This immediately grossed me out and made me wonder how clean the rest of the room was. Naturally, I started inspecting everything else to be sure. Despite the filthy shower and the rude clerk, the hotel itself is nice. It's in a great location, very close...
Read moreMy family and I have stayed at this Marriott location a number of times over the last 3 years that we have been annual pass-holders at various theme parks in the area. We visit Orlando multiple times per year and Townplace Suites (usually this location) has always been our top choice of where to stay. On this visit, we stayed in the 2 bedroom family suite for 4 nights. The moment we checked in we noticed the room smelled of urine, particularly in the bedrooms. Additionally, every AC unit was making loud high pitch ringing noises. This whistling through the night made sleeping difficult. To address these issues, I immediately visited the front desk and was informed we could not change the room, and nothing could be done about the AC units, but that the smell would be remedied.
We have stayed in this type of room before and have never had this issue. Later that evening, the front area of the suite had been sprayed with deodorizer (which was not an issue) but the smell was not addressed and remained unchanged. Clearly the staff, opened the door, sprayed deodorizer, then left. We called the front desk to once again check if any rooms had come available and voice our concern over the lack of care regarding the urine smell. Unfortunately, we were again informed the weekend was booked, and we understood. We asked that the smell please be addressed as soon as possible.
The next day, nothing was addressed. It smelled horrible and was getting worse as the days went on. We spoke one more time to the front desk staff. She was apologetic and said I would be contacted by a manager the next day, and ensured the issue would be addressed. We asked that they attend to this with more than just deodorizer; that the one time they completed this, it wasn’t helping and the carpet needed to be cleaned.
On one of the days that housekeeping attended to our room, they took dirty silverware, cups, and plates out of the sink without washing them and placed them back in the kitchen drawers and cabinets. We were unable to use the dishwasher during the duration of our stay because when we opened it the first time, it smelled like rotten food. We continued to stay the next 4 nights in these disgusting conditions. This was the worst hotel stay we have ever experienced and we stayed in one of the largest rooms on property. I checked out without the issue ever having...
