Our stay was amazing! We were a little concerned at first because the room smelled like it had been cleaned with a dirty mop, but it wasn't the worst. We bought disinfectant spray and cleaning supplies to make it a bit more comfortable.
Irina in the Wakoola (sp?) grill was so nice and helpful. Unfortunately, the only damper that we had was the guy that came up and scolded our driver. He was very dismissive and aggressive when he addressed him in front of my group. I found it extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional.
We later found out his name was Hasham (sp?). Do not recommend. Later in the trip, he actually attempted to avoid picking my group up when requested, and claimed that he 'went by' our room and no one was there. Most of my group was outside waiting on him and watched as he drove passed. He was unaware that we were watching from the clubhouse (next to our building because of the wait and how hot it was). This is when we learned his name. He didn't stop to look he literally went right by.
Joe, on the other hand, was extremely sweet and patient driving us around the resort. He is such a joy to be around. 10 out of 10 would recommend for sure! Same with the ladies at the Market. Most every one was so helpful and sweet.
Based on my experience, Hasham does not fit the culture there. Not sure if he was having a bad week or what but he was a no for me. The resort overall was beautiful! We enjoyed ourselves to the fullest with it being our first time in Orlando.
Rooms:
Could have been cleaner and smelled better. Also the soap and shampoo dispenser was broken in one of our bathrooms. We were in building 4.
Nearby Activities:
There was plenty to do. The arcade was one of my favorites. I just remembered an unfortunate situation from the trip. There was an advertised wine down bingo event said to be at the wine bar in building 1, that my sisters and I were excited about. We called for a ride, but never seen anyone. So we ended up walking. Half of my party enjoyed the walking where the other half was miserable. So imagine our disappointment to learn that the wine bar was closed. This was our first day there so it was not a good start.
Safety:
We were only ever scared of Aligators... we didn't want to be on the ground when they were ready to come out of the water. But we never seen any. I felt safe the entire time until that guy got aggressive.
Walkability:
They have drivers, but sometimes it seemed faster to walk. If you're not very active or you don't like long strides, I'd say stick with the driver
Food and Drinks:
Their food was amazing, or we were starving. The Wakoola grill's buffalo wings were not hot and that was a bit disappointing, but the teriyaki wings were great! Loved the loaded fries and swamp water as well.
The markets pizza and chocolate cake was the best! I can't remember her name but the amazing cashier drizzled caramel and chocolate on top! It was love ladies and gentlemen.
Please note that we received a flyer under our door for pizza and wings. We spoke to the market ladies about it and it they explained that it's a scam. They, apparently, try to get you to order over the phone and get your credit card info.
Thanks for reading novel lol! Didn't mean to write this much but I...
Read moreCan they delete reviews? I left one yesterday, and it's gone. I'll try again. (Theres another fountains link on google maps with my initial review. Oh well, have a second review)
Good points: -all the pools are heated, even the big outside one. And there is an inside pool out of the wind and rain, which is more a specialty for the Florida stays. -balconies are completely screened in for bugs and birds. -location is good for a lot of things. Parks, food, shopping, etc. -bar staff are friendly and willing to help you find what you want. (Spoiler though, they will eat your pocket book haha) -sales staff are super willing to help out and fix things to their ability. They will really try everything within their sales power to fix anything. I wish i remembered our sales man; he was really going above and beyond. (Super skinny, gucci shoes, i believe he said he was from puerto rico, but he spoke without much accent to tell it. I wish I remembered his name to send some props, but names are the worst for me)
There are so many more bad points, though. -clubhouse staff were awful to deal with. Even with a hello, attitude right away from anyone behind a counter. Everyone else was fine, just the people actually in the clubhouse, the check-in, the coffee people for wakeup, the people you have to come to with resort things.. all the clubhouse people. -we lost a couple of things being rushed from our original room to another one because there were things not working in the room and furniture breaking. Which, ok, change rooms.. but we had already stayed a night and unpacked because they didn't swap us day 1. -second room didn't look much better but the toilet worked and the furniture was in one piece. Other things were still broken or missing, but the toilets and showers worked. BUT, the big thing for this room, the door didn't work properly! The main, outside door. You had to lift and wiggle and pull the door to get it to lock shut. -there was construction on site that they dont disclose when booking. Which work needs done sometimes, but these people were out and working LOUDLY before 6 am every day, even sunday. No sleeping in, no quiet breakfast to the fountain music from the big pond. -the resort as a whole, when you start to really notice, looks old. The carpets, the paint, the rust around the pools, outdated appliances, my husband mentioned jacks being used on one building's column support, etc.
This place has really gone downhill. My husband used to own a timeshare, maybe 10 or so years ago, and it was wonderful then. He talked it up SO much, and i was excited to visit. He was crushed at how much different it was in just 10 years.
We also visited Hilton this year. One of their older resorts, even, and it was better than here without all the fancy renovations done yet. Definitely better experience at Hilton. The only thing they didn't have at the resort we did stay at was the...
Read moreThe resort was okay, the food is way over priced in my opinion $15 for a burger that wasn't that great is steep.
We were there for the preview days and had to attend the sales meeting that started great the presentation was actually fun. The tour guide was great I think his name was Enrique. He was nice and kept conversation going. He was new so didn't have answers to everything but he was honest and sincere. When it came to talk numbers with Keysha I believe her name was my wife and I just told them it was outside of our comfort range right now as I am in transition of work. She straight told us "it's only $200" (for the monthly payment but that didn't include paying the payment for the down payment). I found that comment very rude and condescending. I understand that things take time but the sales process was way too pushy I needed up agreeing to the sampler just so we could leave. I'm not saying the value for the product is not there because it is but I wasn't ready to buy and that was the problem I told them that probably 20 times and kept coming back around.
But that was not even the worst part of the day. That was that it took so long. I was told before we came down the process would take about 2 hours We had our start time at 11am and we didn't finally get to leave until after 6pm 7+ hours with out kids in the play area...that leaders me to this part of the review out 3 year old who is potty train had an accident probably because of the different environment but when my wife went to check after being told she was told she was cleaned up and she was okay now. At the end of the meeting when I went to pick her up she was soaking wet in cold swimsuit bottoms (we were planning to go swimming after the meeting) and she had not been cleaned properly. Had we been told she was wet we had cloths in the car to change her it would not have been a problem. They had also not had anything to eat all day since breakfast.
The sales team need to find a way to streamline that process and not have people waiting for over 7 hours if they want to get more sales. People come with kids because they want to enjoy the resort not have their kids wet freezing and hungry in a play area. It was a...
