I scheduled a cake tasting for my wedding, and set it up a month in advance as my fiancé was coming from 2 hours away and we wanted to make sure both of us could be there. I explained all of this when I scheduled. I also pre-paid for the tasting so that we wouldn't have to worry about payment on the day of the tasting. We arrived at the door 5 minutes before our tasting (and 5 minutes before the bakery was scheduled to close - our tasting was supposed to be right after closing time) to find everything locked up and closed down for the night. I called the number on the door and got no response. Then I decided to check my email on my phone, and saw that the owner had sent an email saying she needed to reschedule, 7 minutes before the tasting was scheduled to start (so, likely when I was paying the meter out front to park). I called her to find out what happened, and she stated that the employees just decided to leave early and she just found out about it and there was nothing she could do. I'm not sure if they ever actually prepared my tasting or not, or where the chain of communication broke down internally - but if the owner couldn't be there and didn't have someone committed to staying after-hours for the tasting (which was scheduled a month in advance), she should have reached out days before, not 7 minutes before, knowing that my fiancé was traveling to be there. We did receive a prompt refund for the tasting fee, which was appreciated. After reading some of the other reviews, I have to agree that the customer service is lacking here - the communication after being stood up for our appointment was gruff and defensive, even though I had been nothing but polite, professional, and punctual.

I tried to contact them for months and they didn’t respond to any email. They acted like they were too busy and didn’t care. Zero for customer service. Now I have to find a new place. Thank you Sweet girls for making this a not so sweet experience. I would have loved to support a local business. Unfortunately these people aren’t very sweet or caring. Listen to the reviews and stay away. I would have ignored the bad communication had they not started threatening to cancel my order days before my wedding. Unbelievably unprofessional. There are plenty of places to get cakes.
Edit: As you can see from the response they gave they really don’t care about their customers. I tried messaging them on multiple occasions months in advance to talk about the cake and changing the date. Instead they say sorry we aren’t available but we will take your money. They only messaged me days before the wedding but before they were ghost. When I asked why they said they were busy. Not even an email back. Wow. I’m appalled they think they can act this way. Bullying people and acting like you are the only bakery in town alienates the community and customers. Instead of fixing the situation they try hard to ruin your day. We paid for our cake in Full because I didn’t want to have to deal with cash the day of my wedding and I even had her replicate a cake she had previously done; it should have been super easy. We were also supposed to get a cupcake for our first anniversary and we ordered two dozen additional cupcakes. We talked about everything in our tasting, it seemed fine. The cake being recreated had sunflowers I even asked her if she needed sunflowers at our tasting and she said no not to worry. The whole reason I chose this bakery was because of the sunflower cake. When the day arrived and my cake arrived, It was 50% what I wanted but a big portion of the wedding cake was supposed to be sunflowers. There were no sunflowers on my cake at ALL. It was a backyard wedding so my guests were around me. I managed to take a few sunflowers out of one of my vases but come on! There was also no cupcake and when I called her on September 17th she was going to “look at my contract and call me back. “ it’s currently October 7th and no call back. Overall the cake was good but it’s more of the point of that she made a commitment and didn’t pull through. Also the not calling me back still has really bothered me. Terrible customer service when I spent $300 on my cake and cupcakes. I won’t be back for any events or anything. We use bakeries quite often, next time I’ll try another.
