I contacted fox bakery through email for a custom cake for my daughters birthday in the middle of August but unfortunately did not receive a response so I decided to message her on Instagram incase she didn't receive the email. We spent most of August, into September talking about the cake, design and pricing. At one point she said she would get back to me on how she would make the design for the cake requested and it took her a week to get back to me. She gave me a price which I was fine with and wanted to inquire about how to pay for it. She then told me she couldn't make the cake and was book. This was extremely upsetting because now I would have to explain to my 6 year old that for her 7th birthday she will not get the cake she was soo excited for. This all happened 2 weeks before her birthday and now I have to find something last minute. My daughter is extremely upset since we can't find that cake flavor anywhere else. Fox bakery is an amazing place and also has amazing desserts, we will continue to go there for her stuff in store but unfortunately she is not very professional when it comes to ordering custom cakes and I would never recommend her for that or attempt to order from her again. I am fine with her being booked but she did not communicate that from the first message. She lead us on to believe she would make the cake and told us no last minute after giving a price. I am very confused about that. Hopefully she learns from this and does better next time. She wasted valuable time we could've used to find...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOverall, the bakery was nice and the cakes were really yummy! While my picture doesnāt do it justice (for context, I was walking back to my car since I had to park a few streets over as parking is awful in Easton. I, of course, tripped over the flat sidewalk and tried running forward to stop myself from falling which in turn, just meant I met the concrete not only faster but harder! I tried to save the cakes more than my arm and for that reason they mostly lived. Does the bunny look slightly more like roadkill instead? Yes, but still tasted great), the cakes were crafted so well and the flavor was impressive!
I chose four stars as while the food itself was great, it is slightly overpriced (in my opinion). I know itās unique in the area and popular from Europe, but ultimately it is just chocolate and mousse. And they arenāt extremely big. I waited in line for about 20-30 minutes as it was long and there were only two people serving the counter. They were very kind but on the slow side, which again, might be because of how fragile the cakes are but I think they could have gone a little faster. Lastly, there arenāt a lot of seating options and the placeās furniture doesnāt exactly scream bakery/cohesiveness. Itās still nice though.
Definitely worth trying at least once, maybe Iāll go again once the hype dies down. And if you go soon, get there early as they...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLegit pastries that are obviously created with dedication to the craft, but the service and atmosphere need some work. As it is, itās not a place someone would want to sit at to grab coffee and cake while socializing. Half of the store should be curtained off; the empty space gave the vibe of a haunted abandoned hallway. The service is well-intentioned but comes across as untrained.
The food. The pavlova is a proper one with a marshmallow-y center, the main thing I look for in the pastry. The shape makes the outer shell too thick and difficult to break, though. The sfogliatelle was still warm when I got it. The crust was a bit tough but crackly crispy that neatly separates into layers. The filling smelled of...
