Okay, let me start by saying that I RARELY write reviews. But this place is a DUMP and I could not let this one go. It was sooooo filthy throughout (dust, hair balls, trash and debris all over the carpets). Obviously not being cleaned at all. Very expensive weekend rates for what you’re receiving. Our room did not have any tv available because their direct tv was not receiving signal. They offered to switch us to ā€œthe lastā€ available room in the hotel, but when I got to it, it reeked of cigarette smoke and had a floor that was broken/buckling up and sure to give my kids and me splinters (see photo). The wall even had a split down the center in the kitchen area. When I complained about that room, I was told that there was no other rooms available. Ended up keeping my original room. After staying a very uncomfortable, gross weekend in the hotel, I kept hearing other guests complain about their rooms. They were also told no other rooms were available. THAT WAS A LIE!!! The hotel was definitely not near capacity because all guests were able to park in the front of the building, and there were lots of parking spaces left. So I’m figuring the remaining rooms were either way worse OR they just didn’t want to make more rooms for housekeeping to clean. In addition to not having working tv’s, the pool was ā€œOut of Orderā€. Actually, it was COMPLETELY DRAINED OF WATER. LITERALLY DRY!!! (see pics). The ice maker wasn’t working, only one elevator was working, the ironing board was leaning to the side (I had to lean with it in order to iron out clothes). This place really needs to SHUT DOWN. I can’t imagine why they still have a 3.9 rating. Another guest complained that her carpet was soaked and they told her ā€œno other room was available.ā€ Another couple complained about not having a working tv. So that tells me the whole place was probably out of order with Direct TV. Front desk was nice when you asked for something, but I can tell that they are used to working in that dumpy hotel, so they don’t have much concern for guests not receiving proper service. It’s the norm for them. Other staff were nice also, but you can see on their faces that THEY KNOW it’s wrong to have people staying in that type of environment. We will NEVER return to that place, and I hope this review helps to steer someone else away from making the same mistake that we did. The owner and management should be ashamed!!!

I stayed for a week in July as I was traveling for work. I had stayed a few times previously and I noticed the hotel had deteriorated quite a bit since my last trip. A lot of the public areas seemed dirty and not maintained i.e. torn carpets, wallpaper peeling, sloppy paint. Maybe it wasn't actually dirty but it felt that way from how they looked. My room wasn't much better - dirty windows, loose and buckled laminate floors in the kitchen and loose floor moulding. The view out of both of my windows was of the roof area that had the A/C units. Which also provided me with a constant humming noise of them running. But I'll just chalk that one up to bad luck on room assignment. One of the main reasons I choose to stay here is because it is an extended stay and has the kitchen area. But it was barely usable because of the lack of items and minimum utensils, including only one fork. Not the biggest problem in the world but definitely a difference from before. Also, while my room seemed relatively clean, there was noticeable hair on the couch, which I chose not to sit on, and when I dropped a hand towel in the bathroom area it had long hair on it when I picked it up. Also worth mentioning is that the hotel was full and there was only one elevator running. After waiting several minutes a couple of times I just decided to use the stairs for my stay. I also noticed that a few staff members, including what I assumed were management, would gather in the outside public areas to smoke. It just seemed a little unprofessional to me. There has to be a better area for employees that is a little less visible. On a positive note - they normally do offer the government travel rate and when I did have interactions with the staff, they seemed friendly. Overall it wasn't a horrible stay but I won't be staying again. If I wasn't traveling alone for work and had my family with me I probably would have left and stayed elsewhere.

To whom it may concern, I am writing this review based on my stay at the Homewood Suites on July 5-7th, 2023. As a diamond member, this was my worst experience while staying with Hilton. Upon Checking, my room only had one (1) set of towels. I have never checked into the Hilton and had one set of towels. When I went to request more towels, an experienced young man at the counter needed to figure out where anything was and was told to wait until the morning. I even asked about the requested upgrade, and he could not assist me. With the parking lot empty, I knew my room was available; someone did not want to work and clean the rooms for availability. The following day, I went downstairs and was told that the hotel was understaffed, and they were washing for more towels, and it would be awhile. I could not wait any longer, so I left to buy towels and bathroom things needed for me and my family to bathe. We came to Atlantic City with a baby, towels, and bathroom essentials as required. Not to include the ceiling in bathroom looks like it needs to be replaced. I was not able to change rooms do to the lack on them being cleaned. Fast forward to the following incident, the room door would not lock, and you could walk straight into the room with no key. I addressed this issue with the front desk, and they later were given another room which was an inconvenience for me to move all my belongings at the last minute. Upon arrival back to the hotel daily, we had to go back and forth downstairs to get new keys because it would not open the door at all. After a long day, which was just a major inconvenience. Now let us talk about the heat conditions in the Halls and elevators. Why was it so warm? That is unacceptable, I must say, for all guests, especially during the hot summer months! I want to speak with the general manager about this stay because some things need to change quickly.

Worst hotel experience I've ever had. I originally booked a room here for 3 nights, but my experience was so bad that I had to leave after only 2 nights. I was traveling with my 88 year old father to attend my son's wedding and reserved a room (Room 426) with 1-bed and 1-pullout sofa bed months in advance. Problem #1... After returning from the rehearsal dinner (our 1st night), we found that the pullout sofa bed "mattress" was not even a mattress, but only cheap metal springs wrapped in a thin sheet-like covering, and was impossible to sleep on. I called down to the front desk and advised that the sleeping accommodations were not what I paid for. I needed to have 2 separate beds. He advised that he could put us in another room with 2 beds (Room 409) at the other end of the hall, so I went downstairs to get a hotel dolly and packed up all of our luggage and belongings and proceeded to walk my elderly father (who has dementia and was extremely upset and confused as to why he was being moved in the middle of the night) to the far end of the hall, only to get to the new room and see there was only ONE bed!!!! I then had to move all of our stuff, and my father, back down the long hall to our original room. I went downstairs and told the clerk he did not give me a 2-bed room as I specifically requested. He unsympathetically and unapologetically simply stated they didn't have anything else available. I requested blankets from him so I could sleep on the sofa itself (since the sofa cushions were old and dirty). But the sofa was way too small and I woke up with back pain. Problem #2.... The temperature in the room was 80* and although I set the thermostat to 70, the temperature never got lower than 79 during my 2-day stay, and the ac unit (situated right next to the sofa) rattled so loud all night long. Problem #3.... The TV in the living room did not work. A repairman was sent up, but he was not able to fix it. Problem #4..... There was a woman's large and colorful hair bow by the bathroom sink with strands of hair in it from a previous guest. Apparently housekeeping never cleaned the sink area or else they would have seen it and removed it. Problem #5.... After 2 sleepless nights, I went down to the front desk and advised I was checking out a day early since they were not able to provide me with the appropriate sleeping accommodations or conditions that I paid for and expected. I was so sleep-deprived during one of the most important events of my life, my only son's wedding. (There were over 100+ of my son's other wedding guests who stayed here as well, and many had similar complaints). When I checked out and advised of all the reasons why I was checking out early, the 2 staff members at the front desk (who were at least courteous and apologetic) assured me that the manager would be advised of my experience when she came in the next day, and without me asking, one of the women wrote a note for the manager while I stood there to be sure they documented everything correctly. Now, 3 days later, I haven't heard a word. So I called the hotel today and spoke with Tiffany, who was one of the women at the front desk when I checked out, and she told me the manager would be there in about a half hour and she would let her know I called. 5 hours later, I still have not heard a word. NEVER AGAIN will I...

As the other reviews state, this hotel is horrid and i wouldn’t recommend it to anyone! This is your warning to NOT book this hotel

Cleanliness: For starters, it literally stinks! The staircase smells like a mix of wine and pee. This isn’t me trying to be funny or a hyperbole. The stench in the elevator is grotesque as well! Perhaps from people walking into it with wet feet from being in the car pool? Either way it’s not right and downright disgusting. The couches in the rooms (king suite) are stained, smell bad and look like they were picked up off of the street. The toilet bowl had a huge crack in it as well

Service: i will say, the people who work the front desk have all been wonderful. I’m sure they deal with a lot as they’re well aware of the state of this hotel and probably get complaints all day

Room service: this is the one!! So, I’ve been at the hotel for about 30 days now and have my room cleaned ONCE!! Just one single time has someone attempted to clean my room and that’s only after i requested to have it serviced and i was present, so it wasn’t even a full cleaning as i was annoyed and just wanted new linens and towels. I’ve requested to have my room cleaned several times with no avail! I see housekeepers in other rooms though, so i don’t understand what the problem is? I’ve resorted to washing my own bedsheets and towels. I really only require my room to be cleaned once a week as I’m extremely clean and tidy but this is absurd!

Other issues: I’m not sure what the hotel policy is but i booked a non-smokers king suite but my room fills with the smell of cigarettes every single day! It’s comical at this point.

Other issues continued: my door has been inoperable for over two weeks of my stay, so I’ve had to find some clever ways to lock my door while I’m not there. The rooms keys routinely stop working but I’ve been gaslighted to believe it’s my fault that stopped lmao. I appreciate the enthusiasm but i know how hotel keys work as i travel for work for a living and regularly stay at hotels. It’s your awful door locks fault!

Laundry: the laundry system works well and you can pay for it with directly though ā€œlaundry bossā€ app but here’s the kicker… on my floor alone, there’s over 30 rooms. So I’ll just say that there’s a total of 100 rooms (underestimating). There are FOUR laundry machines and FOUR dryers!! For the entire hotel! It’s located on the fourth floor and the room is tiny! It’s crowded with two people in the room!

Ice machine: don’t even bother! Hasn’t been working since the start of my stay!

Shower: the pressure is 7/10, so not bad… but the water takes over 10 minutes to get lukewarm on some days. I’ve timed it! This isn’t even during peek hours either. I’ve taken showers at 0400, 0700, 1000, 1400, 1700, 2000, 2200 all with the same result of waiting 10+ minutes to have a warm/hot shower or to wash dishes

The fire alarm randomly went off at 2400/12am one day

The elevator sometimes stops at your selected floor, doesn’t open and continues to the next floor

The furniture is extremely outdated

The usb charging ports in the lamps and/or plug in will charge your phone in two business days

Besides that, it’s in a good location. But please, find a better hotel. For a place that’s managed by Hilton and for over $100 a night, you’d be better off...
