The last time I was a customer at this school I was there for over five hours for a cut color & style. My stylist passed me off to another one while my hair was wet with dye to go and get his car out of a garage before they closed for the weekend so he would not be charged for storage. I was billed for an extra ounce of color that went right down the drain because my stylist left. And I was arbitrarily overcharged for styling based on my previous receipts. The students take customers after morning class at 10:00 a.m. I signed in at 9:15 a.m. I was the very first name on the sheet. Guess when I was taken back? Fifth! First all the regulars who signed in after me were taken care of. After a long intake process my hair was washed and cut. I mistakenly put an argon oil treatment in the night before. So I needed a wash before the color service. I glanced at my watch and it was 12:45 p.m. So in almost three hours my hair was only washed and wet cut. The instructor then did a color consult with me. She informed me that because I was changing tint and covering grey I need extra color & there was a charge. She explained that if not dyed properly the grey would cause "hot roots". Fine. But...my stylist left & that extra mix of color never was applied to my roots. The student who took over dumped it on my head at the sink before shampooing the dye off to not waste it. But I was still charged even though it literally went down the drain! And guess who has hot roots? The end result of color & style from the second stylist was decent. However the ridiculousness of this taking over five hours in inexcusable for the instructors. They should be pacing their students properly. All I got was the instructor, Ms. Trish, yelling across the room "don't overthink it. Just throw it on there as fast as you can." in reference to a glaze I had ordered. In the over five hours I was there no one ever asked if I was alright, if I needed a glass of water, if I was under any time constraints, or apologized for any inconvenience. Ms. Trish did tell my original stylist to go and eat a couple of pieces of pizza while my color sets though. In the over five hours I was there the woman next to me had a horrible a highlights process for her torso-length hair. When the foils came off her highlights had dark patches that looked like polka dots. The instructor offered to fix it at no charge. That's right folks. They still billed her for the original services after damaging her hair! Oh and she left before me! So did the man who sat at 1:30 p.m. for a full head of artificial hair weave! When I asked this Ms. Trish could I please have a discount because I was there for five hours and my stylist abandoned me she chuckled, and said "it was a school, there was nothing she could do", and then lied and said that the stylist had a "family emergency". So the real outrage is not with the students. They are nice, polite, & are fun to support. It's luck of the draw. You either get the head of the class or someone struggling with school or personal problems. The issue is instructors like Ms. Trish on the floor who have tremendous attitudes and are unapologetic for the school's shortcomings & spend way too much time with their backs to the class on their computers. You feel very unappreciated as a customer. I have tried this business three times in the last year. Only one of the visits was satisfactory The other two visits were so bad that I am taking the time to write a review. Reading other reviews make me wonder if we are talking about the same place. Be advised that customers are offered $5 off their bill if they do a Google review right then and there. So your stylist is watching you do it BEFORE you even get your services. We go to beauty schools to save money and enjoy the ability to walk-in appointments when we are on the go. But I was curious to see how much I saved. So I went to a salon in the same strip mall. Unbeknownst to me they have a color, cut, and style package for $65. My padded bill was $51. So for a measly $14 I could have avoided this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was a night time skin care student for the past 7 months. This past January was the first time the school would have a night time skin care class. I had high expectations for this school and was excited to attend. When we first started we didn't have a permanent teacher, as they were looking for a teacher educated in skin care. So a couple weeks in we had a new teacher who had her esthetics license. She was very unprofessional and always late so we had complained and she was fired immediately. After having her for almost 3 months, we were given our first teacher who was a cosmetology teacher. She was great and did the best she could, however she was not educated in skincare and I feel as though we missed out on a lot of education. Then our teacher was in charge of both night time barbering and cosmetology, so we were left with no teacher the last 2 or 3 months. The last couple months of the education are crucial for us students because we're getting prepared to go off into the field and take our state board exam. Shore Beauty School took advantage of us and our money and didn't give us the proper education. If you're planning on enrolling in this school, I warn you, do NOT take night classes. They do not have the proper amount of teachers and don't care if you're getting the proper education or not. We learned most of what we learned from the daytime students. Not a teacher. And that is what we paid for. Extremely disappointed. Before you have a night time class and take people's money, be prepared with a proper teacher and don't give up on us half...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI graduated from this school over a year ago. I was in the part time night class and they were awful. They treat you like a child at this school. When you ask for help you are seen as a burden. They never taught me a single thing. All we did was teach ourselves which isnāt fair considering you have to pay over $20,000 to enroll here. I am the stylist I am today thanks to my amazing coworkers who taught me everything I know once I started my first salon job. This school cares about nothing but money money money! It is over a year later since I left this school and they continuously call me every other day asking if I work in a salon to collect data for them to make more money through the government with ātheirā success rates. This school will not make money off of my hard work to start a salon job from knowing nothing thanks to them! Every time they call or text I block their number, they are continuing to harass me from different numbers. It is none of their business where I am working now. It is so embarrassing how desperate this school is to make a quick buck. If only they put this kind of effort into my education when I was attending their school maybe I would be more willing to help them get extra funds, but this school doesnāt deserve it they wonāt use those funds for the proper resources!!! Please donāt put your trust into this school, all they want is your money and all you will be to them is another statistic. Find another cosmetology school that will take...
