SURPRISINGLY RUDE THIS TIME AROUND: WONâT BE BACK. SO DISAPPOINTED :-(
Brought my kids here, as we have in the past, to buy something special. In the past, we have come for birthdays. We called ahead to purchase a specific game and drove a half hour to buy itâwe could have saved a lot of time and gas and bought it online, but we very much believe in patronizing local businesses. Although only a month ago we werenât required to wear masks in this very same store, we were immediately told (and not politely) to do so upon entry. I asked why and was told, âYou can leave now.â I asked if I could just purchase the game we had ordered, and we had to wear masks while standing at the register about a foot from the door. Had my son not been looking forward to this game for a long time, I would have walked out and ordered it online immediately. My daughter, who was also with me, wanted to look for and buy a game with her own money, but we were treated so rudely, we left immediately. I told them we will never come back. We can find another store or buy games online. Do these people not understand that treating customers rudely drives them online? We are a family of avid board game enthusiasts who love to support small businesses. What a shame. We are really sad.
Update Based on Owner Response: (1) Only one month ago, masks werenât required in your store, so I guess you didnât do masks then either. I really have no clue. We DID put on masks. 2) My kids were so excited to go to your store, THEY opened the door. I didnât see it. Besides, many stores still have publicly displayed signs they simply havenât removed. (3) Rudeness is never ok. Itâs simply not acceptable. You have just put your rudeness on display for the whole world to see (unless you edit your response). (4) Youâre welcome for taking the time and making the effort to patronize your business. These were kids. (5) The ONLY thing I said after being told to wear a mask was âwhy?â And then I was yelled at to leave. Itâs a legitimate question. This is sad. It is no way to...
Read moreProducts lack variety selection and are overpriced. Amazon and other neighboring stores have better deals.
They do cheap things to look good. They'll take issues from outside the store affairs and use it against people they do not like. Arguments are one-sided and don't give the other party a chance to defend themselves, and they'll act regretful, but really they don't care. They focus more on keeping false peace than making it. It's rude.
The atmosphere is bleak, like the one that welcomes socially awkward at best and super-otakus at worst; if you don't fit that, and you speak your mind, especially out of context, you are not welcome. It's ironic when it's a place that welcomes "everyone from all walks of life" or some other recited balogna.

Read moreI've been coming to Nerdvana for years now as a casual MTG player. I cannot emphasize enough how community-oriented this place is. The staff are super down-to-earth and friendly and you make friends with other customers quickly. It really has its own community. You're allowed to walk in, sit down and chill, whether the staff knows you or not. They've got snacks and drinks available at discount prices. I find it funny that the local business owners/customers pop in from time-to-time just to grab a snack haha. They also have an AMAZING rewards program where each purchase, no matter how small, gives you points towards discounts and free merch. Even if you're just bored one day and want a place to rest at, go to Nerdvana. I can't...
