I stayed here with my wife and 3 young kids for a night while in town for wedding. Late in the evening our door opened from the outside. Someone had keys and access to our room! I escorted the gentleman to the lobby and informed the front desk of this error and how serious this could have have been. I then returned to the front desk 10 min later because I was curious how this could have happened. Turns out the guy who entered our room was still in the lobby and still had keys to our room (what!?). Not only did the front desk give someone keys to my room, they didn’t take them when I informed them about the issue. He gave me the keys and I then asked to have the manager come to the hotel. While I was waiting, I got to know the gentleman who entered our room. Turns out he was homeless (what if my wife and kids were asleep when he entered and I wasn’t there?) When the GM Paul showed up, I was furious and wanted to know how something like this could have happens, why they didn’t take the keys from this guy, and who trained the staff? The GM was more concerned about me than the fact that this issue occurred so he called the police to have me (and my family) removed from the hotel. I cannot make this up. After much discussion we were allowed to stay and promised a refund. When I asked who the GM reported to, he wouldn’t provide me that information. To date we’ve never received a refund, no explanation why they gave access to my room (and family) to a homeless man and then called the police tried to have us removed at 1am. I travel quit a bit for work and I’ve never experienced something like this.
Update - After many calls to the hotel and the corporate customer service, we were able to...
Read moreWe have stayed here many times and always had a pleasant experience. This past weekend was terrible. When we arrived they told us the water was off and would be on in about an hour. We waited and it never came on. We had a function to go to and had to get dressed and go without a shower. When we came home from the function the water was still off. Unable to flush, unable to shower, and having to brush teeth with a bottle of water, we went to bed . Woke in the night and the water was still off. Called the front desk. They told us that a crew had just come in and would be repairing it. We woke the next morning and still had no water. Apparently during the night they were able to turn the water back on to all but 2 rooms, one of which was ours. We asked to be moved to a different room and they did so. The 2nd room was fine. Many people were complaining about having no water or no hot water, their television didn't work, their phone didn't work. I asked to talk with the manager, Paul, 3 different times. He was never there. We are IHG members so he had access to our telephone number and email and never attempted to get in touch with us. I was quite surprised to wake up this morning and see that they charged us for both nights, even the night that we had no water and no ability to flush the toilet. Again I asked to see the manager. He was not there. I do not feel we should have been charged for the 1st night. Without the ability to bathe, shower, or flush, it was a very difficult experience. We have been loyal IHG members for many years but unless they make good on this, they've lost a...
Read moreWe chose this hotel because we are loyal IHG members, and this one had a hot tub. When we checked in, we were told the hot tub was broken. We have several appointments in Enid over the next several months, and the front desk lady said that she wasn’t sure if and when it would be fixed. She did recommend a different specific hotel because they have a hot tub.
When we got there, the front rug outside was so dirty, it looked like it hadn’t been cleaned for a long time. When we checked out the following morning, it was even dirtier.
The hallways had a foul smell, and it looked like it was under remodeling. There was no food for purchase and an empty drink cooler. Which isn’t a problem since it is in the heart of Wnid and there are many food places around, just disappointing.
Our room was big and the bed was incredibly comfortable, the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in at a hotel. Checkout is at 11. At 9:00, while we were still sleeping, the housekeeper tried coming into our room to clean; she literally opened our door and was walking into our room. That was very scary. When we called down to the front desk to tell them the housekeeper tried to come in our room, the front desk lady said, “and we’re sorry about that.” Needless to say we packed up our stuff and left.
Like I said, we will be coming to Enid several more times over the past several months. But I think I’ll take the front desk ladies advice and go to the front desks recommended...
