Addendum: After the remodel, it seems that prices have gone up. Their avocados are about twice as high now...the same price as most stores. There is a much larger selection though, especially in frozen foods. They have a really good selection of fresh vegetables, which is what draws me in. One of my friends does all of her grocery shopping at Aldi, and she tells me that prices have gone up since the remodeling. She buys more things than I, so she knows the prices better.
Good selection of fresh vegetables at really good prices. Haas avocados for 59 cents each, sometimes 39 cents, and they're delicious! Their center cut bacon is really good too.
The store is being enlarged right now, so maybe it won't be so crowded and will carry more items.
Be sure to take your shopping bags with you, or grab empty boxes from the store. You bag or box your own groceries, and if you don't have a shopping bag or box, you can purchase brown paper bags at the register. Also, you need to have a quarter to 'rent' a shopping cart, however that quarter is returned when you return the cart. You don't find carts all over the parking lot, so the system works nicely.
There's really no customer service to speak of, just a person ringing up food, and the lines can be long. There are employees stocking the store, and they're usually quite helpful. I really have been surprised at how low my total cost is there, and of the things I have bought there there are only a few things I didn't care for. I don't care for their refried beans and I didn't like their pretzels. I haven't tried any meats except deli-sliced ham, frozen chicken breasts and center cut bacon. These were all good. I would be interested in people's opinions on their fresh meats.
Give it a try, you'll save money! You will also find things you didn't know existed and didn't know...
Read moreThe stores fairly clean, the shelves aren't always stocked and you can't always find what you're looking for, but overall not a bad store and as high as food prices are right now they're probably the best in town. The employees need to smile a little more and be a little more friendly, not to say that they were unfriendly they just seemed like robots there to do their job. An update to my earlier review of this store as of 12/15/2022. Customer service is just not there anymore, these people just don't care about their jobs or their customers at all! As you can see by the picture that I posted today, this is how I carried my groceries home from the store today because there was not one grocery bag and that entire store and the cashier at the time told me if I wanted to go look for boxes around the store that I was welcome to them. How does the store stay in business that doesn't even have bags to put groceries in for their customers, what does that say for their...
Read moreDon't forget your quarter for the cart! They have a fairly good selection of veggies, fruits, prepared foods, meats, etc. They have very low prices and are much cleaner and safer than shopping at places like Walmart! They have fewer employees and don't take things out of boxes on purpose, this is how they pass along the savings to the customers. Also remember to bring your own bags as the paper bags cost 11cents each, another way they help pass along the low low grocery prices to their customers! I tried to take pictures so you can see and compare prices. Their flower selection was the only thing that I could see that...
