I've recently became a widow with young children (3mnths & 2yr old) and we're in town visiting my late husband's side of the family. We got to the hotel late at night, with snow on the ground, and the temp in the low teens...plus, both my kids were asleep and I had NO idea how I was going to manage to get them and our stuff inside with minimal stress and absolute meltdowns with my toddler; I was procrastinating so bad for this reason that I even drove around the lot a few times (if you're a parent, you already know) but once I went inside, the girl at the front desk was SO AMAZING and even tho it was shift change, she didn't rush me, she wasn't short, and she showed nothing but absolute empathy and care. She kept my toddler company and played with him plus showing attention to the baby to keep her from fussing as well. From the second I walked in, her smile was contagious and her compassion was something I needed so badly during such a dark time. What impressed me the most was, she came out from behind the desk to interact ith my kids...most times when I ask to leave them for just a moment to park the car when it's cold/snowy or a long distance to the door, the workers stays behind the desk. But she didn't and the safety/comfort that allowed me to feel is priceless. The man who took over for her was equally caring and generous; he complimented me on how well i was doing as a mother and it was a much needed reminder. They both offered any help they could and were true lights that myself and my children needed in the darkest moments of our lives...I wasn't sure how I'd handle all of it without my partner and their daddy right there with me, unloading and loading the car, parking, breakfast, etc...but they never once hesitated to jump in to help. I'd also like to send a huge appreciation to the man on morning shift who without hesitation as well, was willing to do whatever hw could within his power to make our stay and my mom duties a little less stressful and especially to make my kids more comfortable with these freezing temperatures. THANK YOU, FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY...
Read moreI've been to some really bad places and this one is not that bad. I took pictures of all the less than great stuff but no bugs and it was pretty clean besides these few missed spots. It's a ragged place despite the modern looking furniture in the rooms. In dire need of an update and maybe to use better quality furniture that will last longer because I bet the furniture in the room isn't that old but it's seen a lot of watermarks and scuffs. The lobby is just sad. It was not that it wasn't clean per se, just small and sad. You can tell from the entrance that you're walking into a place that really needs to be updated. Probably the most irritating part is that the room was warm and had a strong musty smell like you're walking into a basement even though the AC was running on high. We've actually slid the window open to get some fresh air in the room and brewed some coffee to help with the scent. It's going to be a cool night so hopefully we can cool the room off sufficiently but its set at 65° and it feels about 75°. But like I said I've stayed in some really terrible places and this place was $40 cheaper per night than the Hampton Inn directly across from it. If you're looking for a cheap hotel this is it. Much better than a Motel 6 I'm sure. I've stayed in those too. I don't think I'd be able to stay here more than one night though but we just needed to place to sleep that was decent. The pool is under maintenance, apparently "everyone complains about the rooms being hot" but they're not doing anything about the fact that you can't get the room cool enough to sleep comfortably, breakfast was gonna be "bagels and muffins" but by 8 there was white bread and one bagel, but again, you get what you pay for. Honestly, I've also stayed at better, cheaper hotels too that at least had a real breakfast and the pool was open. The room didn't even have a microwave or kleenex and the input button on the remote was broken so we couldn't use the Google tv device we brought to watch our...
Read moreVery disappointed by the managements response to issues. We arrived al 11pm on Wednesday night after a 12 hour ride. We left first thing Thursday morning for most of the day since we are here for WGI. Friday (today) we had been gone most of the day and arrived back at 7pm-ish to sleep and prepare for the ride home when I was alarmed to find hair in the bathroom (like someone's ratty old extensions) along with trash shoved into the bathroom shelf where I reached in expecting toilet paper because that's where the first roll was. I then turned a camera on with light and started inspecting the room and saw months worth of dust on the bathroom shelved, a coating of dust or crud on the lid of the toilet, more miscellaneous hair on the other shelf that wasnt cleaned. I inspected the bed mattress when I arrived for bed bugs and found nothing and then went right to sleep, tonight I found I had been sleeping on a bloodied soiled blanket 🤢. It is obvious the bed sheets were not changed. I called down to the desk for new bedding and toilet paper, the late night desk person was polite and apologized and said she would call her boss to see what they could do for us. She was also grossed out by the hair and blood. When she came back the 2nd time (this took atleast 25 minutes) she said they would do nothing for us since our stay was over tomorrow and they would have changed our room. There was no offer to clean the room in the moment, no offer of any kind of refund back for lack of cleanliness, there was nothing. We did get a new singular blanket (not a whole new bedding set) I didn't expect much but SOMETHING after finding out we slept on a bloodied bed and have been using a room that was obviously not cleaned. I expected some kind of hospitality customer servince. I have video of everything. Before this interaction I thought I would be leaving a completely different review...I wish it was handled...
