UPDATE 9/22/2023: The owner promptly responded to my previous review due to the poor experience. He apologized and offered to correct the matter. I went to the store the following day where the Lord Ganesh idol was replaced. I spoke to the manager who was very understanding and apologetic. I felt like I was heard and that my religious sentiments were respected. Accordingly, I am bumping my review up to 5 stars because they truly went above and beyond. Thank you for making this Ganesh Chaturthi away from home special! Also, I purchased some of their sweets and they were delicious - highly recommend!
I have been staying in Dayton for a work assignment for 2 months. Being in town, I wished to celebrate Ganesh Festival in Dayton and my experience with this tore only made it a nightmare. The Lord Ganesh Idol I purchased was brought home with the appropriate handling . Then was placed on a dish to get ready for pooja on coming Tuesday dated -09/19/2023. I was engaged for a next day presentation ,and all off a sudden I was shocked to notice the Ganesh idol dropped off it's one paw and while watching it ,the another also fell off. I called the store to replaced it (same day I purchased) even a smaller size ,But I was refused the exchange, additionally one of the staff arrogantly insisted me to go to BBB or for any legal complaint. I was mentioned USA refund policy is not applicable...
Read moreShree-G is a well stocked Indian grocery store in Beavercreek, Ohio (their other store in Centerville, Ohio is bigger and better, imo). You can find about 80% plus items of daily use there. Their frozen food section is nice but the organization and finding the right item needs improvement, imo. They can lose sales this way. But, more importantly they are helpful (and respectful). For example, I inquired about an Indian pepper spice which they didn't carry at the time. They got it for me & I see it being carried regularly now. However, a few other things I don't like are as follows: (1). The prices are on the higher side. For example, Indian sweets at $14 or $15/pound are expensive. I can buy good quality sweets online at $11/Ib (2). They always seem to be stocking which is inconvenient due to the discarded cardboard and the stockers blocking the already narrow isles (3). Their shopping carts are too big & inconvenient to use. They can easily prove on many of such things. I frequent them and also some other similar stores in...
Read moreMy experience is so infuriating. They keep expired food items on the shelf. Especially cookies, chocolates and sweets. Absolutely revolting. How can you do this to people? This happened to us multiple times. We gave our feedback before but he just returned the money for the product. This is just short term reaction to the feedback, that's not all, we need you to find a permanent solution to expired/old stock on shelf.
Note to anyone who buys from here, please check everything before buying. My friend ate an expired chocolate (5 star) and he felt sick in his stomach. @Store owner- please check the dates while putting your products on shelf. Clean every month to avoid such issues.
This is horrible. There has been no response from the store owner to this review. I went to the store to talk to the owner directly but he wasn't around. I left a feedback for him. I'm deeply saddened that the store owner is exploiting the Indian community because he has the only store in miles and customers have no other choice if they prefer...
