We needed a last minute hotel close to Wright State University. “Google” pictures looked decent and this hotel is less than a mile from the soccer fields. Free breakfast, indoor pool, sold.
First we walk in and can barely see a person sitting in the common room in the dark. She kept telling me something was at the desk by the phone. I thought she was telling me to ring the bell.
She finally says, “your key is on the counter.” Okay! Fast service, but how did she know who I was!? She then says “room 304, that’s your key. You called me to ask for a replacement right?” No…
She then comes over to check me in. We ride up to room 206, I unlock the door, start to open it and instantly see they gave us a dirty room. Both queen beds are undone, my 7 year old starts to walk in, we see luggage, my 13 year old sees a woman come out of the bathroom!
We walk out, run downstairs and the lady proceeds to tell me that’s our room. “My manager preassigned you to this room.” I told her well IDK but there’s an entire person in there!
How do they not know who is in there? Why did the manager assign me to that room? How do you argue with me telling you there’s someone in there! How traumatizing!
So we get a new room 2 doors down. The room itself was ok, the bathroom needed a deep clean! The indoor pool was dirty and cold. The elevator had what looked like fecal matter on the wall. The next day, we were woken up with the smell of Marijuana. We ran downstairs for breakfast and were met by the employee coming in, also smelling like marijuana, noticeably high, almost bumped straight into us.
Never will I ever stay at another Quinta again! I can’t even say I got a good deal! $222 for 1 night at an...
Read moreIf my review doesn't make sense that's not surprising. The hotel room was good. Very clean and the beds are comfortable. The young man who checked us in was pleasant. The location was good for us.
What was not good was the overall management of the facility. The lobby and elevator were grubby and needed a vacuum and mop. I usually camp so trust me - I am not fussy. The parking lot and entry way looked like the place was abandoned. Weeds, broken tiles, flower pots sitting around empty. The ice machine on the 3rd floor was broken and leaking and it appears to have been that way for a long time.
But, the biggest issue for me was that I previously shared a review, in which I mentioned that a family with small children was checked into the room next to us at 2am. They were extremely loud. They were having fun and joking with each other - which would have been lovely earlier in the evening. I called downstairs to the front desk and the night manager immediately took care of it. All in all, not too big of a deal I shared the incident both to give night attendant credit and to say, maybe put late comers away from the other rooms.
The response I received from the manager was that I was lying about my room and the noise. She said that I was on the first floor - we were on the third. That the rooms weren't connected - they absolutely were. And that the people next to us were missionaries? Still unsure how that is relevant but was not true anyway.
So essentially, the rooms are good. The overall hotel is being neglected and the manager cannot accept constructive criticism. Take it for...
Read moreWas there for a soccer tournament with my family. The room was disgusting. There were stains on the bedding, blood on the wall, hair everywhere, the phone's handset was literally stuck to the phone base, the phone would not dial out, and it smelled horrible. The worst part about this was that my 5 year old daughter walked up to me asking me what something was. Here, she found drug paraphernalia with drugs still in the pipe! It was glass and broken so it was extremely sharp. I walked down to the front desk and found that the General manager was the one working. She told me she completely understood my concern and that she agreed that was insane. I was then told there was nothing she could do other than add points for a free stay when we return. I advised her that we would absolutely not be returning after this ordeal. She told me that she was not able to get a refund because it was booked through our team and that we would need to contact them. I then come to find that she was not being honest with me and that everything must go through the hotel. Apparently, they were declining a refund due to other people from the soccer club getting complaints for noise. I have no idea what other people being noisy had to do with my daughter holding a broken glass pipe with drugs in side that she found on the floor by the bed not more than 4 feet away form a housekeeping card signed by the person that supposedly "cleaned" our room, but I find this whole situation and the way the hotel GM handled it is appalling. Hands down the most dreadful hotel experience I've ever...
