The staff in Fallon, from the manager I spoke with to the staff who created a new title, registration, et al, were polite, knowledgeable, and helpful. The wait, however, was interminable! More than 3 hours! Because of understaffing and overflow from Reno and Carson City, they stopped taking new customers before noon, and those customers were turned away by a sign on the "take a number" machine. Same thing happened yesterday to us, so we went home. And our registration expired. So when we got to the desk today, we were charged a one day late fee. When I explained that we were turned away at the door by the sign, we were told, "Well, you could have come back later to see if we caught up." 1) The sign didn't say, "check back later, and 2) we don't live in town, so we couldn't just come back. If you're going to close with no notice, and re-open at will, again with no notice, you can't expect your customers to know what you're doing. And when you're a State office, you've got to have a better plan and communication with the public than that. Several disabled people were turned away today - one yesterday as well.
