What a joke! I am not the type to write a review. In fact this is the first I've ever written because I feel it's the only way to try and make something right. I booked 2 nights at this hotel and on the first night the fire alarm went off blaring in the whole hotel. This happened at 12:40am. Waited in the parking lot for about 20 minutes while no staff was available in sight. The fire department came and the alarm stopped ringing, so people slowly went back inside to their rooms and back to sleep. Only for the fire alarm to go off again around 1:30am. At this point I didn't trust that the alarm wouldn't go off again. I decided to find a different hotel and left. As frustrating as this all was, it wasn't close to being as bad as how Holiday inn treated the situation. The next day I decided to go back to the Holiday inn to check out and request a refund. The person working at the front desk said, not a problem we are refunding everyone for last night and a refund would be issued. I proceeded to check out and they told me that I was good to go. Only to find out no refund was issued and now Holiday Inn is claiming because I didn't report the event as it happened they cannot issue a refund. What an absolute joke! Aside from this event you would think the stay would've probably been a fine experience, but this was not the case. Check-in was a hassle! No staff was present for a good half hour of my arrival. Only to finally check-in and head to the elevator and find broken glass all over the floor of the elevator. Then what seemed like underage teenagers roaming the hallways and yelling in the hallways at 12am before any alarm even went off. A truly terrible experience from start to finish. If you are thinking of staying here. Don't! There are much better options in the area for the same price. Better amenities, better rooms, and most importantly better service. Confirmation code I had when booked through Airbnb: HMHNW9WKYF

Nice hotel in a convenient location close to the town. The building is pretty well-maintained, clean and pleasant interiors. Very good service all around (reception, housekeeping, breakfast). We appreciated and enjoyed the complementary flavored cold water in the lobby. The pool was being renovated, they had an arrangement to allow guests to enter the pool of the Falmouth Inn which is just a few minutes away by car. In the bathroom, we all loved the wall-mounted dispensers of shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion, that's much better than using tiny plastic bottles ! Breakfast was very good, with healthy options (fresh cut fruits and yogurt) and also yummy cupcakes and waffles. Coffee pitcher served to the table upon request. Real utensils and mugs, not disposable, great ! Yet only 4 stars due to some downsides: The pictures on the walls inside the room were dull, not colorful, fun or related to the Cape. The sleep quality was compromised by the loud mini-fridge and thru-wall HVAC unit. The bathroom smelled like vinegar. The TV remote did not work properly, which was frustrating. And the bottom line- we felt it was overpriced (around $300 bottom line for one night including breakfast, on a summer weekend). The hotel occupancy appeared to be low, although many people came to Falmouth for the triathlon. Perhaps they can attract more guests if they lower the price. Good experience overall :-)

Iris Hotel, not Holiday Inn. I booked mainly knowing it was a Holiday Inn but had to ask as the desk if it was the same hotel, and they said yes. Found out from a local in town that the former hotel management was doing something drug related at the location. The view was nice right outside the lobby, but that was it. The ice didn't work on our floor, so we had to go to a different floor because refrigerators in the rooms were not cold. The complementary breakfast was the biggest joke ever. It was an hour since it was set, and there were scraps. Limited to no items and just a disappointment on top of a disappointing stay. There was no one at check out, and no one seemed to care. No, do not disturb signs for the rooms so they can just come in whenever they want for housekeeping. $100 hold on the card for incase damage. I think we will pay up next time for a better rated hotel. I was very upset about the swerve of the name.

I have stayed in many holiday inn locations around the east coast numerous times as to why I chose this hotel for this location and this was nothing compared to the rest. The only part of the hotel that would indicate it was “the holiday Inn “ was the lobby after that the rooms look and hallways look like a motel . I reserved 4 rooms for a few friends and myself . I understand the sign said they are “ under construction ” but that is no excuse for the poorest infection control that I have ever witnessed from this hotel chain . From the moment I entered the room there was a man in my room not wearing a mask and blow dying the sink bc there was a chip in the sink from a previous guest as he continues to tell me he is the maintenance man and I cannot touch the chip in the sink for 4-6 hours and all the while is standing there speaking to me with no mask on during this covid pandemic . Then one other room we were told was ready was still being cleaned while the housekeeper again was not wearing a mask despite all the signs up that state to wear a mask . I was in room 207 on first floor and did not even sleep in the room because it was so bad . I Lysoled the entire room and only changed my clothes and showered in the room . I slept in another room with my other guest , which I was very upset about because I reserved a single king bed for myself because I work in the medical field and wanted to practice pepper social distancing and infection control but couldn’t because the room was so filthy and I had no other choice but to share a room with someone else while paying for a room I couldn’t even use . Unfortunately we were already four hours away from home and had to just “suck it up “ so to speak for the two nights .My bed had a piece of chewing gum on the floor next to it , Crumbs on the floor, spider eggs and cob webs in corner of ceiling , nats all over each room ( I understand this is a beach town ) . One of the refrigerators had an old Dairy Queen ice cream blizzard cup left in the freezer from previous guest which obviously indicates the mini refrigerators were also not cleaned or sanitized . There was no garbage bags provided to any of the 4 rooms during the two night stay just empty trash cans and soap was missing from 3 of the 4 bathrooms . The rooms and hallways smelled like smoke although the signs indicated it was a “ no smoking zone “During check out I told the receptionist my concerns ( which she was professional and stated she would relay the message to her Manager) but did not look surprised at all and no where did anyone reach out to me , apologize or offer any compensation towards our bill. I was told by receptionist “ I understand your frustration , we are short of staff unfortunately .” Extremely disappointed because I was happy to choose this hotel because of all my previous satisfying experiences with other locations. ( also when I went to post my review through holiday inn survey , the survey expired when I hit submit and the review...

DON'T COME TO THIS HOTEL, ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE CHILDREN OR ARE A TEAM EVENT!

This has to be the worst hotel I have ever been to. Being a hockey family, I have stayed at many hotels. Going to start with the moment we stepped into the hotel. The woman at the front desk was not friendly (no smile, no greeting). There was mold in the rooms. One of our families had to be moved due to a horrible smell of smoke (even though there is no smoking). Pool floor was covered in chipped paint falling from the sides. Day 2 we asked for towels and the woman's response was," we just put some in yesterday!" (mind you there were multiple hockey teams there due to a tournament going on in Falmouth.) Here goes the worst part.... This past Sunday night (January 15), the manager came from around the corner and yelled at my child and his friend for running in the halls and to get back in the room. I was sitting in the hall as to monitor them and assured her that it was not them running. I calmly and respectively ( can't stress that enough) told her that there were children from the bottom floor, whose parents were at the bar, running through this floor. She got on the phone and left. Five minutes later she shows up with 3 police officers. The officers asked her who she wanted out. She looked around to see who was left and pointed at my husband and I. Mind you this was only 8 p.m so no noise rule was in effect had we been loud (WE WEREN'T). Our children were crying and scared. We were treated as criminals, I was embarrassed for no reason. This was uncalled for!! The manager was unprofessional and should be fired. She obviously hates her job and people in general.

Edit: I wish the response below was the truth. My child never left the hall way. You have no proof that was my child. I was sitting in the hallway calm with another couple of parents making sure our children weren't doing anything wrong. The woman herself told us she was the manager. Again, the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND PLACE I...
