Usually my interactions with store employees are limited to a few pained exchanges by the cashier. The way I see all employees act towards the consumers at this location is that they are either burdened or annoyed by their very existence. As if everyone’s need for groceries is an affront. Today was even worse as I watched the woman at the end of my checkout line accidentally drop and brake a jar of tomato sauce on the floor. While several employee’s witnessed the accident, no one approached the distressed woman or cleaned the mess. I asked the cashier if she should help her or perhaps find someone who could? She indicated that it was not her responsibility and that someone had been notified to take care of it. Clearly it’s every man for himself at this store. Meanwhile, I watched as elderly persons tried to navigate their carts around the mess with the woman still looking around perplexed. After a few more minutes without being approached she took it upon herself to retrieve a roll of paper towels from her shopping cart and begins mopping up the mess, broken glass and all. I understand that consumers here are regarded with irritation, if not down right hostility but to see such a blatant disregard to other’s safety seems egregious to me. For shame. I wouldn’t be surprised by an injury lawsuit. I let the cashier know as well as their customer service team. All shoppers should proceed with...
Read moreI really like this and several other Stop & Shop supermarkets in my area (Falmouth, Mashpee, Marston's Mills) They are all generally clean and well stocked with a friendly and helpful staff. They also have some good deals on reduced rack items for boxed/canned items and health/beauty, day old bread and manager's specials on meat and dairy that is close to the sell buy date. Sales are good, prices are generally good, and coupons through the app are helpful as well as being able to earn gas points. Anywhere I shop I make sure to check best buy and expiration dates on perishable items, but these stores are almost always right on top of checking out dates so it's rarely a problem. Many people in the area travel a greater distance to shop at Market Basket in Sagamore/Bourne b/c "the prices are better" It is a nice store and I haven't compared prices side by side, but Stop & Shop is much closer(2 miles vs 16), I don't have to deal with traffic near the canal/bridges, the lines at checkout are MUCH shorter and with sales, coupons and store brands I almost always save 30-40% or more on my...
Read moreFalmouth and Mashpee, MA Stop and Shop Supermarket has historically and consistently NOT credit my self serve checkout kiosk register with blatantly posted sales after I have scanned my rewards card. Even after I have scanned my credit card for payment (the excuse the assistant uses to claim is the reason). This is a scam. I have done this several times (just recently, let alone over the years) and voila’, only when the assistant comes over and scans their identity card does my savings show up...only to look dumbfounded about why it occurs...no legitimate answer. This has gone on for years. Only due to their location and some select items do I shop there. Further, they are notorious for placing lower priced items (veges and such) in bins where items are posted higher in price. So, regularly, I have to take pictures of the bin they are in to obtain their proper price. Profiteering during COVID-19 from high demand items such as frozen foods appears rampant: I am able to buy the same item for 20-50% less at...
