Petco — Local services in Falmouth

Took my golden retriever puppy for a bath and blow dry. I was appalled when I was handed back a half wet, shedding pup that smelt like wet dog. I could have done that myself.. She said he “tipped the water bowl over” onto himself in the crate. Yet he was still damp everywhere.. and his ears were soaked. The shedding in the car makes me think they didn’t brush him at all. — I wasn’t expecting perfection, just a half decent service while we establish with a regular groomer. It was 83 dollars for the upgraded package. — I came home to blow dry and brush him out myself (I’ll insert a photo of the shed I brushed out) I paid for the service and tipped over 20% without complaining, because I knew it would get me nowhere.. However, i’ll never be back.

• UPDATE - This did happen to be a one off situation.. The manager had our dog re-groomed free of charge.. and both groomers were extremely pleasant about it. I took him in for another bath today and he came out beautifully done. Thank you guys for making it...

we were attending the cape cod kennel club show on 9-18-2016, and stopped at the falmouth petco to use their bathing station. we were met by a female groomer who told us petco would not allow use of the bathing station unless we presented a current rabbi's certificate. when i told her, that that was not told to me when i had called, she became rude and nasty. we presented the info via the smartphone, she would not accept it as documentation. we appealed to the store manager ( bryne). she listened to the details, viewed the smartphone and corrected the first employees determination. she assured us we could use the facility. she relayed the info to co-workers who did assist us when we returned with our puppy. manager bryne was wonderful . thanks to her, her team and petco, we groomed our puppy and made it to the confirmation....

I frequently come here for pet supplies for my fish and guinea pigs. They have an impressive crew. Alex is incredibly knowledgeable about fish and their needs and will be truthful with customers about the investment needed in order to properly care for their new pet. I respect his opinion and appreciate his insights. Nate has answered numerous questions for me about different reptiles and amphibians as I have been considering for a while getting one. He is a great source of information and passionate about these critters! And finally, Amirah (I hope I spelled her name right) is a fantastic cashier, so helpful and kind to customers and incredibly patient. These are just the staff members that I have come to know/recognize, but I’m sure the rest of the crew is fantastic as well. Great staff here...
