Customer beware, especially those with allergies. If I could give no stars, I would. My family and I visited the Falmouth 99 for a birthday celebration for my late grandmother. My sister has a serious gluten allergy, but we do well with accommodations for her every where we go. Today, she tried to order a surf and turf meal. A sirloin steak with shrimp. Typically the steak would be grilled on a gluten exposed grill, and the shrimp might be baked and stuffed or as a part of a casserole (both not gf). We asked for the steak to be pan seared and for the shrimp to be just plain shrimp also pan seared. We were told they couldn’t do this. We asked to speak with the manager, Kim, and she informed us that the shrimp were already prepped for service. Understandably so, I simply asked for unprepared shrimp and was told they don’t have that ability. Odd, considering they have prepped shrimp in house, how could they not have unprepped shrimp? They must have an amazing vendor to keep them stocked with massive amounts of shrimp daily, and early enough to have ALL of that shrimp prepped for 11am start to service so that there isn’t a solitary unprepared shrimp in the whole restaurant. I then asked to forget the shrimp and just get the steak pan seared. Kim again informed me that they couldn’t do this. “Why?” Was my only question. Kim stated that they didn’t have the ability to pan sear anything. How can that be a possibility I wonder, when they have a clean sauté pan, a burning flame (the grill) and an uncooked steak? I don’t know what else they would need to pan sear a steak. Maybe it’s just uncomfortable to put the pan on the grill instead of the conventional open burner? Absolutely zero accommodations were made and a barely half-hearted/borderline heartless apology for my sister who ultimately had to order an unimpressive, lack luster salad with no protein, because according to Kim and her brigade, they simply have not one pan, flame, or raw steak or shrimp...

However when I brought my family to your Falmouth location on Sunday the 18th, we had to leave because we had no confidence that our table would ever be ready. It was semi-busy when we arrived, we asked for a table, (for my family 2 adults, 3 kids), we were told there was a table soon ready to be cleaned and that we would get it. 15 minutes later, with no one calling our name, I go back in, she says it'll be just a few more minutes (TO JUST CLEAN A TABLE!) we go outside again, 10 minutes later, back in, ready to complain, this time I here the staff talking about how management told several employees to go home early (even though this was the day of the Falmouth Road Race), and after about 10 minutes of waiting, the place FILLED UP with waiting people coming thru the door one after the other. So at that point knowing that you were clearly understaffed, I had serious doubts that our food would ever be ready. THEN I heard one of the employees talk about someone not wanting to clear tables when asked by the host if our table was ready. ARE YOU KIDDING ME???
The host clearly looked like she was confused and overwhelmed by the incoming crowds. All in all, so bad, we left.
Wanted to take my family to The 99 after a day at the beach, couldnt happen though. Really...
Read moreAnd I love the 99 but not this one! Yes, the food was great as usual. We had country fried chicken, and baked haddock. Both cooked to perfection. You see , the last time we were there at the 99 in Falmouth, we had some service issues. That was 2 years ago- PRE COVID. Didnt really think too much of it but this time the host, manager and another staff started acting very bizarre. We had called ahead and arranged for special seating because of a disabled party member. The. host immediately took us to a table in the rear that had movable seats. After ordering, the host came back and asked us to move to the open table in front of us stating that someone else needed our table. We politely refused, and asked why the other person couldn't just take that open table? She left, then the night manager came over to the table of 6 women on our left and asked if they wanted to move to a table that was all ready for them. Now, they were knee deep in their meal for some time and looked perplexed why they were being asked if they were alright and wanted to move their table to which they declined. we were then told that we were also ok to stay where we were. Dinner went off without another hitch after that, BUT, No one ever came to claim that open table! I believe this was a race issue on the part of the restaurant staff and not for the first time. We will not go back there, and give warning to others to pay attention to when and why service is not fast and efficient no matter how much they...
