This hotel is brand new, so new that the paint smell is still very strong in some places. I was here for a week visiting a friend, and overall, it was a pretty good stay, but over the week there were some things that kind of tainted my stay. So here's my detailed breakdown of my stay:
The property is incredibly clean, as it should be since it's brand new. Though from what I noticed, there are a lot of construction workers that stay there every week, the ones who are always covered in mud, so hopefully the hotel can keep up the cleanliness.
They have a fitness area, pool, and outside sitting/patio area. I didn't get a chance to check any of it out, but it seemed nice.
Staff service was good. Mostly just interacted with Shannon, who was always friendly.
Breakfast is provided in the morning, waffles, bagels, muffins, cereal, eggs and bacon or sausage. The lobby/sitting area for breakfast is large and spacious with lots of places to sit. However, the cove area where the food sits is a little small, if there's more than a couple people getting food, it gets crowded and awkward. The music they play in the lobby is a little loud, it makes it hard to hear when you're talking to someone or interacting with someone at the desk.
I had a regular king suite, which was clean and spacious. There is a microwave and fridge in the room, which was helpful with a week long stay. The bathroom was nice, though I wasn't a huge fan of the shower. It was a walk-in shower with no tub. For the most part, it was okay, but there isn't even an official "door." It's a piece of glass that cover 3/4ths of the shower, leaving a gap to walk into the shower, and also a gap for cold air to come in to the shower, with no way of closing the gap. The shower floor doesn't have any "anti-slip" measures, so it can be a little slick.
It would also be nice if there were some sort of ledge in the shower for washing up/shaving/drying off etc. Though, there is an arm hole at the nozzle so you can get the water to the right temperature before getting in.
The bed was comfortable, but the sheets were really rough. However, at least during the week, the garbage truck comes every day to empty their dumpsters, around 5-7am EVERY. SINGLE. MORNING. It is loud and woke me up every time. I don't know what the heck they're throwing out they requires the truck to come every morning, but don't plan on sleeping past 5am, at least if you're on that side of the hotel.
The TV has an adequate number of channels, but be warned: any amount of rain will cause the signal to go out. Also just a note, the TV will automatically shut off after a certain amount of time, so if you need it on to sleep, just know it will turn off in the middle of the night.
The doors are very very loud when they close, so you hear doors opening and closing all night long. Also, I know staff isn't as concerned about noise during the day, but if you want to get work done during the day, plan on doing it elsewhere. The housekeepers are incredibly noisy in the hallway: between the talking and yelling, pounding on doors, and all the doors opening and closing, it's very hard to get work done.
The AC worked well. I like having a nice cool room (like 64 degrees), and the AC worked well to keep my room cool. It wasn't too noisy, especially compared to other hotels, but it does rattle some. It didn't bother me as I like a little white noise when I sleep, but I know some people are more sensitive.
The lighting in the room was really nice. The lights in the sitting area have a dimmer, and the lamps on the wall next the bed have a book light switch. There are lots of plugs and USB ports both at the desk and the bed. The alarm clock by the bed has a display on all sides of the clock, so it's easy to see the time. However, there is only one phone and it's at the desk. What's the point in setting a wake up call? All other hotels I've been to have two phones, one at the desk and one at the bed, or if it only has one it was at the bed.
So overall, it wasn't terrible. It was good really- it was clean, spacious, and the employees are nice. There are just some things I have preferences about I guess. My best friend recently moved to the area so I'll be in the area a few times a year and will keep this property on my list of future...
Read moreWe were pleased to find a new hotel, with modern and up to date features. We had a King suite on the 4th (top) floor. There were USB chargers on both sides of the bed as well as on the desk. Bedside lamps had both a fixed and a bendable light. The bendable light shines a little spotlight that makes it easy to find something in the dark or to read without waking up the other person.
The bathroom had a super-magnifying mirror (beware if you're of a certain age -- it really shows your face in terrifying detail). Beneath this mirror was a black towel embroidered with the word "Makeup" -- a great touch for those who don't want to clean their makeup with a white towel.
The TV swiveled for viewing from either the couch or bed. We used both the fridge and microwave. No freezer in the fridge, but that's pretty standard these days.
Breakfast was pretty standard. We didn't eat the meat or eggs, but the rest was fairly typical -- waffles, cereal, yogurt, etc. There was a nice looking patio with tables and chairs, where we'd love to eat breakfast in warmer weather.
The pool looked nice, but we didn't use it. The gym was adequate with new equipment.
The hotel is near the airport -- great if you're arriving by air. Noise wasn't an issue for us, but might be for...
Read moreI stayed here often, weeks at a time, last year in 2023. I usually always rented the king two-bed balcony rooms and I paid around 160-180 a day. Not bad for location, the two bed, the balcony and most of all, the space! There is a pull out couch, a large spacious bathroom, and of course the spacious balcony.
They actually have great breakfast! Not many places do, lol. This place does! A large selection from waffles, fruit, eggs, toast, bagels, sausage, orange juice, coffee, etc.
The swimming pool area is really nice and comfy. My granddaughter had a lot of fun there.
The front desk was usually always pleasant.
I never had a safety issue.
Walmart was next door, a quick walk over, for any needs. I would grab dinner and cook it in the microwave that was in my room.
This is a great choice if you’re in town and need a room near the Florence location.
I didn’t like that I would hear the housekeeper’s child running the halls in the mornings while the housekeepers would be going room-to-room. That was sometimes an issue, but I let it go as maybe the mom and dad had no one to watch the boy. Housekeeping also tends to knock early (8-9am), even when one is a stay-over, but this is a hotel, and those are issues that can come with staying...
