First off we were told it would take about 20 minutes to be seated that was fine. Then another party of four come in behind us and the worker tells them okay and walk away as if they were looking for seating for them but never came back to tell them the wait time. Once we were seated we ordered our 4 waters. Didn’t get them till about 15 minutes of sitting there (with no straws) and also had not been introduced to the server. Going on a total of 25 minutes all together before being able to order. A group of two we saw being seated 10 minutes after us has already gotten drinks and food by the time anyone has come to take our order. We order our food they bring back 2 wrong items. One being a steak and shrimp chimichanga when it was supposed to be only steak. The server did not apologize he just said “okay i’ll take that” and walked away. By this point we notice it’s not only us that others are having issues as well, mind you it was not crazy busy at all. The table next to us was served their food and as one asked “could we get some silverware?” the server was already turning around and kept walking away so the guy had to go up to the desk and ask someone for some. When I received my fajita the guacamole was already BROWN!!! Absolutely disgusting!!! It seemed like the plate of sides you get with each meal had been sitting out! A picture is added! The strawberry daiquiri was so weak you could not taste the liquor what so ever! A waste of $6.00! When we got the bill it was priced as $12.99 and extra $2.00 for the steak and shrimp chimichanga that was returned and fixed as only the steak. The server tried to argue with me that it was shrimp and steak as if he did not remember taking the wrong plate back and getting a new plate that was correct. He takes the bill back and fixes it and it still says shrimp chimichanga $12.99. I asked “so is the steak and the shrimp the same price?” and he said “yes it says shrimp but it’s still the same price.” I said okay and took the bill but did not believe it, so I go and find a menu and look up the steak chimichanga... $11.99! Only a dollar difference but still why would you lie to someone about that and not just put the steak chimichanga on the bill?!?! the check out desk fixed it but did not apologize. This experience and my last where a margarita was ordered and never given but was still on the bill has made up my mind about going here ever again. I don’t know what happened to this place but it used to be one of my favorites, what a shame. I feel sorry for others that go here and don’t speak up for what service they are getting and over paying for. Rude staff and...
Read moreSo, we go out school shopping and decide to give Rio Grande a try for dinner tonight. He ordered 'fajitas volcan'. I ordered fajitas nachos. The restaurant is NOT busy, our server had two tables. He brings my meal out, 5 mins later Jeff's comes out. This monstrosity bowl is brought to him. No plate. Just this giant bowl. He takes a few bites and stirs it around to find it is full of hotdogs! Full!! Not a hotdog, but there's like an entire damn pack of hotdogs in it. Uh, what?! The server comes back after he sees us looking at the menu again. He seems to be completely confused by this as well. Jeff reorders and gets a burrito. At the end of the meal the server brings the check and tells us that they will void the first order at the register on our way out. We get to the register and the man there is questioning our return of the fajitas. He tells us that the server told him we wanted to replace it because Jeff thought it was too hot. Wrong!! He also says fajitas volcan contains charro beans, and in Mexico they come with hot dogs in it. ....uhm, my ass it does! You know we googled that, and it is not true. So he adjusts the total, it sounds right to us, and we leave. While leaving we look at the receipt to find that he comped the burrito replacement meal, instead of the original bowl of hotdogs, and it is a $6 difference. We were so irritated by then, it wasn't worth going back in. #wecouldhavemadebetterfoodathome ...
Read moreUgh… I used to LOVE this place! It was our go to for birthdays and all celebrations but these last few visits have been horrid! The service is awful! We wait for at good 30 - 45 minutes just to order drinks! The. Wait another 20-30 to order food and then it comes, burnt, cold, or lacking quality ingredients such as tonight I ordered fajitas and substituted chorizo for carnitas! What I got was a plateful of tomatoes and bell peppers with ONE SMALL SINGULAR chunk of carnitas and 2 LARGE blobs of fat, barely enough chicken to even be notable and 2 shrimp! Then I showed the waiter the fat and lack of actual meat and asked him to at least bring me the carnitas I ordered and he acknowledged the lack of meat but never brought me anything! THEN on top of all that we asked for the birthday celebration as we had for all these years and waited another 35 minutes after we had finished eating for this and then still did not receive our bill to pay until we had to ask for a manager who then was seen laughing with another staff member about our complaints! I am sad to say that I have given this establishment more than a fair shake at rectifying our bad experiences to no avail and will now be looking for a new spot to support with...
