I stayed at this hotel July 9-11, 2024. I have stayed here in the past which is why I chose this hotel, and I am sorry to say the hotel has gone downhill in the past year. First, I'll address breakfast. In the past there has been a very good assortment of breakfast foods and I have always enjoyed the oatmeal. This trip, the oatmeal was a watery mess and there weren't many other options. The sausage looked as though it had been cooked to death or warmed over numerous times. I did not taste it and I passed on the eggs. Both waffle machines were unplugged, and I can only presume, not operational. There were two choices of bagels and some bread when I went for breakfast. If there were other options, they weren't available either morning I was there. Second, cleanliness. I have never had a complaint about the cleanliness of this hotel, but this time I was extremely disappointed. The carpets were stained and the overall appearance was run down. The second morning I was there, the lobby floor and the floor to the elevators was covered in mud where it appeared someone had come in with dirty shoes. I attempted to eat breakfast again, with the same runny oatmeal, and less than appetizing meats and eggs, and I never saw a staff member even attempt to clean the floors. The lobby was so dirty, another hotel patron commented to me that she had stayed here numerous times and she would not be returning based on the cleanliness of the hotel. My room was located on the first floor and I would just describe it as OK. The carpet definitely needed cleaning and the bathroom grout needs to be replaced or seriously cleaned. The window lock was broken so I was unable to lock the window. Fortunately, the windows only open a few inches, but I would have preferred the option to be able to lock the window especially since I was a solo female traveler. As stated earlier, I have stayed in this hotel in the past, but I will definitely be looking for other accommodations should I need to spend the night in Florence anytime...
Read moreAwful hotel. I donât normally complain enough to write a review, but I have never been more disappointed by a Marriott branded hotel) After 10 hours on the road on Sep 21, 2021, all we wanted was a hot shower and a hot meal. We got the hot meal locally, but no hot or even a warm shower. No hot water in the shower in the first room. Plenty in the sink, but no hot water in the shower. I showered anyway but there was no way my wife was going to take a cold shower. Called the front desk and was told there were no maintenance people available, but she was very nice and offered a room change. We moved to a different room on the same floor and checked the shower. No hot water after letting it run for 15 minutes. Called the front desk and moved to a different floor and she offered 1,000 points for the inconvenience . Again, no hot shower water. Called the front desk and as told there as nothing she could do but offer a refund. By this time it was 10:00pm and we were too tired and decided to just stay and wife would skip the shower. Next morning at breakfast, I asked a few other guests if they had hot water in the shower. Both said no. I get it, things happen. But this is what prompted me to write this review; I went to the front desk to let them know there was still no hot water in the morning and the girl just looked at me like she couldnât care less. She then had a smirk on her face as she told me âyou have to turn the handle the right way to get hot water,â like Iâm some kind of idiot. (I missed elite Platinum status in 2020, but still a Gold Elite Marriott guest so Iâm no hotel rookie) I asked if there were any other guest complaints (knowing there were) and she lied to my face and said, âno.â Do yourself a favor and DO NOT select this hotel. I wonât even get into the filthy, skanky carpet in the elevators and...
Read moreI stayed at the Springhill Marriott on 10/30/15. The front desk staff, Hayden or Haven was really nice and extremely welcoming. The rooms are not only beautifully designed and spacious, but it has everything a small kitchen area (no stove), a desk for work or studying for school, and a huge bathroom for a hotel anyways. Unfortunately, my first stay back in August was so much better than this stay, or shall i say no stay.
I changed rooms 3x due to uncleanliness which was frustrating and tiresome since it was so late at night. The first room's bathroom had stains in the sink tub and on the floors, the 2nd room looked like someone had thrown coffee on the walls and the bathroom was also nasty, the third room had hair AND stains on the sheets, and hair in the bathroom sink. The beauty of the rooms was unseen once these issues arose.
The front desk guy was understanding and expressed a sincere apology that didnt feel like "I get paid to say this" so I appreciated that a lot. He also called the Courtyard to get me a room set up. Looking at my credit card statement, I was overly charged for the room for a price that I wasn't quoted at and a room I didnt stay in. Hayden or Haven assured me it will drop off in a couple of days so I will be watching my account to make sure.
The hotel is conveniently located to I95 so coming and going is fairly easy to do. It's surrounded by restaurants, a movie theater, and shopping. It is also in a chain of Marriotts, so if your stay isn't up to par the sister hotels are in walking or short driving distances so you dont have to go far. It's hard to say I wont recommend this hotel because my first stay was so great, but I would definitely say check all of the other Marriotts then if all else fails consider this one, but CHECK your room for...
