We stayed one night at this Hampton Inn & Suites. I can honestly say we will never stay there again. Upon entering the lobby, the manager on duty Jada was speaking with a staff member and although she looked at me, she never acknowledged me, or said "I will be with you in a moment". When the conversation was over, she still did not greet me. I asked if the room I checked into online was a loud room, and her response was "I don't know I don't stay in no hotel." Well, there is a Home Depot, and shopping center across the street, as well as a convention center, and the traffic was very loud to say the least. The room that I upgraded to had a fireplace - that didn't work. When I asked the manager on duty that evening, she stated that I should speak with the manager on duty in the morning, as she wouldn't be able to do much for me, but the day manager would. The food service people were rude, and almost pushed us out of the way while we were attempting to get breakfast. In all of my stays at Hilton properties, we have never been treated this way. The room needs some attention. The table to sit and eat at has been raised using metal legs, and the chairs (2 for a 4 person room) are so low, that you are unable to sit and eat at the table. There is no luggage rack to place your suitcase on, forcing us to place the suitcase on the floor. The ironing board is not stable, and the pegs for one leg came out and had to be placed back in, however,...
Read moreI really hate to leave only 3 stars because the staff are great and the room was really nice as well, but we specifically chose this hotel because the website stated the room had a refrigerator, which was inaccurate.
We were traveling back from the beach with our toddler and infant. Traffic from an accident left us at a dead stop on Interstate 95 for over 90 minutes, with two crying kiddos, so we ended up needing to make an unplanned stop for the night. We were traveling with breastmilk for our infant and therefore, specifically chose this hotel so the breastmilk could be safely stored overnight in our hotel room.
Unfortunately, the refrigerator in the room was actually a small drink cooler-type mini-fridge that, after calling the front desk to question why it wasn't cooling, the staff said was more like a "Frigidaire" and informed us that it would not get as cold as a refrigerator because it was more so for drinks.
Since breastmilk has to be stored at or below a specific temperature in order to be safe, we ended up having to empty out one of our bags, line it with garbage bags, and fill it with ice to keep the breastmilk cold enough. For two exhausted parents, this was not exactly ideal.
This hotel seemingly hits it out of the park on so many other things, but please update your website to include an accurate description of the amenities so other parents who need to safely store food or milk for their kiddos don't end up in the same...
Read moreCustomer Review for Hampton Inn & Suites:
I had a great experience at this Hampton Inn & Suites. From the moment I walked in, Stacy Bass at the front desk made a lasting impression. She was not only helpful and efficient but also incredibly funny and polite. I loved her energy, and she made my check-in process seamless.
The morning kitchen attendant, though I didn’t catch her name, was also very sweet and attentive. She made sure the food bar was stocked and kept everything clean while always being mindful of guests’ needs. Her service definitely stood out!
However, the overall experience was slightly impacted by the condition of some of the furniture in the room. As you can see in the attached pictures, the furniture is outdated and in need of either a good cleaning or replacement. Unfortunately, this detracted from the otherwise wonderful service provided by the staff. Additionally, there was a noticeable smell of smoke in the room, which I believe was left behind by a previous guest. This wasn’t the fault of the staff, but it did affect my comfort.
While I would give the staff a 10+ for their excellent service, the condition of the furniture and the lingering smoke smell were disappointing enough that we ended up changing our reservations. We were scheduled to stay for March 27-29.
Overall, the staff made this stay memorable, but the room condition needs some attention to bring it up to the standard expected of such...
