Really cool hostel with affordable lodging. The hostel is in a greenhouse, so it gives a warm and tropical feel. There are teepees outside with fire pits and chairs for hanging out. Anyone is welcome to use them. I also liked that in the teepees there was signage saying you cannot smoke cigarettes. I like how there was the option to book a private room. The private rooms have a full size bed, private full bath (shower, sink and toilet), outlets and closet. Clean towels and sheets were provided. The room is simple and clean. There is a small breakfast bar complimentary for guests. There is complimentary tea and coffee available at all times. There is a cute gift shop at the main entrance and multipurpose room for anyone to use. They lock the main entrance doors at night, so those not staying at the hostel cannot just walk in. This made us feel more safe. If you book through airbnb it's cheaper than using Solarium International Hostel's website. Overall, clean facility and central to many great trails, breweries, and downtown. When I come back to Fort Collins, I will definitely be...
Read moreA WONDERFUL place to stay in Fort Collins!!
I stayed in the turquoise room which had one bed, tv and a private bathroom with toilet and shower. It was a great room for a couple. There was plenty of space. It was clean and had similar amenities to a traditional hotel room.
The best things about the Solarium was their garden area which was just as beautiful as the pictures. It was nice to make myself a complimentary waffle, grab some complimentary coffee and enjoy breakfast among the greenery.
Would HIGHLY recommend participating in their bike rental if that is something that you are considering. It is $3 and hour or $10 a day from 9am - 7pm. Renting the bikes also comes with bike locks and helmets. It was easier than the city-wide bike share and cheaper!
I would definitely return here next time I'm in Fort Collins. The price was great, the staff were friendly and the...
Read moreReally shabby rooms for the prices. No TV, bad lighting, and Wi-Fi that keeps dropping in and out. The rooms have no amenities whatsoever. However, the people that work here are super friendly and try to be really helpful. I wanted to edit my review because the new owner of the Solarium, Chelsea, called me right away when my review was published and asked my opinion about what she could do to the room to change the issues I cited. She was very interested and open and wanted to improve anything she could to upgrade and address any customer issues. I was very impressed with her attitude and openness about positive changes. We talked for quite a while plus she comped me a few nights free in their Silver Suite which is supposed to be the bomb! My advice now? Give the Solarium a month or so and then book a room and I am sure it will...
