First time there, I wanted to check it out because someone recommended it to me. So as an early birthday present treat to myself I went with a friend to check it out.
Made an appointment last minute this morning from a busy week and it slipping my mind-they were very kind and said they could get us in at noon. -When we arrived they were quite busy but very prompt, helpful and super nice. They got us checked in timely and and directed us to areas to wait. They kept apologizing for running behind and saying it would be 10 minutes to wait or so but I never waited more than maybe 5 minutes for the next service or someplace to sit.
They offer drinks which are great. The mimosas are amazing!
I have visited quite a few salons over the last couple years and even traveled and visited some and this by far is one of the most top tier places I have ever been. -The class and elegance of this place is amazing. It's like an art gallery spa. There is marble flooring, beautiful sculptures, a waterfall feature behind the front desk. The chairs are incredibly elegant and the nail stations are gorgeous. It looks like custom glass basins for the hand wash station behind the waterfall. Ceiling to floor mirrors on some walls but not all. The beautifully painted ceilings with little cherubs like some European cathedral or art museum inspiration.
The nail techs are super friendly and work quickly and very efficiently. I don't think my nails have ever quite looked so good before. Staff is very accommodating and checks in often to make sure that you are comfortable and if you need drink refills or anything.
Overall this place is next level. It is elegant, classy, relaxing, it's a mini spa in an art museum. It is an experience. I think my new favorite spot as well.
They are also quite...
Read moreI usually really enjoy coming to this place but I had an awful experience the other day and I'm unsure If I'll ever return. For reference, these were supposed to be my birthday nails. I wanted cat eye glitter nails and this is what I ended up getting, and that's why I'm so upset.
My problem was with the nail tech. The nail tech I had, Tina, wasn't even able to shape almond nails. Another nail tech had to come over to fix her mistakes. She was aggressive when buffing and filing, caused me to bleed, and although it seemed like she didn't know how to do cat eye nails, she went ahead and did them any, instead of just getting another nail tech to do the job. I understand their policy, that once you pay you no longer can get a refund, but when I went up to the front desk to say how displeased I was, Tina hovered over the desk making it really uncomfortable for me to even voice my concerns. I eventually called the store back within 3 minutes to voice my concerns, and although the front desk staff was very considerate (the front desk staff is always amazing) I knew nothing would come of it. So that's why I turned to writing a review. In good conscious, I can't give this store lower than a three star because all my other experiences have been great and I've loved my nails. The staff there is sweet, and so was Tina, but she just couldn't deliver ANYTHING that I asked. Genuinely, these are the worst nails I've ever had. They look NOTHING like cat eye nails. All that money down the drain unfortunately, right before my birthday. If you choose to go, although she's a sweet woman, I wouldn't recommend having Tina do your nails. And always voice your concerns immediately and loudly because they most likely will make no efforts to follow up with you after...
Read moreIn the past month Iâve gone here twice and both times, my nails were ruined. I went in the first time asking for a normal gel manicure on my natural nail, and the lady doing my nails told me they look bad and put tips on them when I asked her not to 3 times, saying I need short nails for work. Instead of not doing the tips, she just proceeded to cut them short and tell me I needed them, and then charged me over $70 for GelX manicure that I did not ask for, did not like, and that if I wanted her to trim my cuticles and use lotion, that this would also be an extra $10. This should be part of the service. I was reassured that the salon would fix this for me for free, and I went in for the second time to get this fixed today. I asked if this happens often and the guy doing my manicure said that it does happen often but that he would fix this for me and removed the GelX manicure. I just learned that this type of manicure should be soaked off, only after he ripped off every fake nail off of my natural nail, while I was saying âouchâ the entire time, and he ripped my natural nail in half. He fixed this nail and told me it would âbe fineâ and then I was charged fully for this, and after he told me that I needed the fake nails taken off, he proceeded to also charge me extra for the removal. Both times in here I was charged well over $50 and not given the student discount, and my nails are ruined and I will have to completely regrow these out. After telling me multiple times that this would be âmade rightâ Iâve still been charged extra for essentially every mistake they have made. I do not know anyone else that has had such a terrible experience and I have definitely been taken...
