First of all, I want to give a rating of 5 stars TO THE STAFF! They were all very friendly and accommodating, considering what they had to work with. This is the only reason I gave this a 1 star instead of a 0. Also, the beds were very comfortable. AC was extremely cold and I like cold. (A lot of people would have said it was too cold). Overall the room was clean, considering everything was either, broke or didn't work right. It all started when we called 2 days ahead of time to confirm they had a shuttle to pick us up from the airport. Yes they said they did. When we arrived and called for the shuttle, we were told there wasn't one. We had to find our own way to their motel. Never reimbursed us. When we were told there was actually a kitchen in our room, I thought, "great". But it leaked water very badly all over the floor. We tried to find Ice someplace in the Motel, only to be told to use the trays in the refrig. freezer. They were empty! We were only staying overnight and feel the Ice trays should have been filled for us. Basically NOTHING worked in our room. The faucet for the shower had to be turned so hard and literally unscrewed to get the water to flow. At first we thought we will never get any water, but eventually we did and then couldn't get it to turn off. Shower curtain had mold lining the bottom of it. Bathroom sink stopper didn't work. Toilet seat was broke and ready to fall off. We never did get any hot water. Wasn't Ice cold, but should have been warmer than what it was. I guess it was refreshing since it was about 100 degrees outside. (Looking for the positive in our stay). A lot of times there was no one at the front desk when we had a question. Since there wasn't any pamphlets in the drawers telling about the place, amenities, places around, etc, we had questions! (Every Motel we have stayed in, has these pamphlets...and we have stayed in many!) At least there was a Bible! TV didn't work until we search the unit. Tip it over, etc. Ended up being the cords in the back were plugged in wrong. Checked prices with Holiday Inn Express next door and we were paying a lot more than Holiday for one night. Was disappointed there wasn't even a coffee maker in the room. And couldn't get any complimentary coffee in the Lobby. Was told Continental Breakfast was until 10:00 am. Was all cleaned up before 9:30 am. So, we missed out of that too and coffee, again! But it turns out THAT breakfast was only laid out on a small end table across from the check in desk. Must not have been very much to fit on that small table. And to get even more fussy, the hairdryer was broke and wouldn't stay in the holder. In the morning, they did have a shuttle going to our Cruise Ship (for a charge $). I feel they should have given this service to us free, since we had to pay to get to the Motel when they said 2 days before we only had to call them and the shuttle would come get us...no matter what time we got in. It was only later in the afternoon we arrived, not evening or in the middle of the night. A BIG 5 star for the guy driving the shuttle to the Cruise Ship. He was very friendly (not fake) and was...
Read moreI do not like writing reviews like this but think it’s important the public know. I travel all over the world in cheap 2 star hotels like this one as well as fine 6 star hotels. This was an unpleasant stay for so many reasons that could have been avoided. They advertise that it has been newly refurbished, but my room was not refurbished at all. Paint chips all over the walls. Black smoke stain on the ceiling, seat recliner that didn’t work properly.
I couldn’t take a shower for three days. Hot water didn’t work and had to ask front desk multiple times how to get it to work. Each day, they told me it was working when it was not working. It took 3 days for the hotel to get the hot water working. Turns out the dial on the faucet was broken so I had to keep turning it and had to find hot water and wait 5 min each time to find hot water I showered! The staff could have told me this.
The rooms are dirty, sheets smell, service is really horrible. Management does not care if you are happy or not. The real problem is that the staff is not not trained properly and very unhelpful. The night and weekend guy is rude and does not care.
Constant battle getting a cleaning person to clean the room. When I checked in, they forgot to put a mattress pad on the bed (when I asked the front desk, no one knew if the bed was supposed to have a mattress pad lol). So I was sleeping on the disgusting mattress. It took literally a week to find a staff member who understood what a mattress pad was and to get one- very unsanitary the following week, the cleaning person forgot to put a sheet on the bed. So I had to sleep on the mattress pad for days until they decided to give me a sheet. Every time I asked for a cleaning, the housekeeper told me it was another person’s responsibility and then that person told me it was another person’s responsibility. Then I finally got service, but the housekeeper left the window wide open (2 feet) and my dog could have jumped out of the window. Had to literally plead with staff to get housekeeping to clean the room and had to get the manager involved (ridiculous).
The hallways smell of mold and dirt and garbage overflowing. I saw one guy using crack and sleeping in the hallway. Others smoking pot in the hallways. Can’t find a valet to take groceries or luggage to room and when you tell the front desk they blame on customers taking instead of locating the valet. For 2 nights, I could not sleep as the electricity went off and on all night long so I couldn’t use my cpap to breathe. There’s more to this story but I’m disgusted and will not...

Alex took 45 minutes to check in and then when we got to the room, there was urine in the toilet, and trash in the garbage. The maid was is the room next to us and we asked if our room had been cleaned and in broken English she said something along the lines " I dunno, I'm not your momma". Went downstairs to change rooms and when I went down there and told them the problem (they told me to ' sit tight') and went to the next person checking in without even resolving my problem. When I said ' excuse me, my issue hasn't been fixed & I just spent 45 minutes checking in' to which the skinny, white guy, with glasses told me ' I was gonna help these other people first ". The morning we left, (Father's Day 2024) someone else was checking out and asked for the manager (a female Hispanic lady) her name because she was rude and wanted to contact Corp. the manager herself, said " I don't have a name". ... if the manager herself speaks to and is passive aggressive to customers then they already think they have a monopoly because their pricing.... I got news for ya, we are a sponsored AAU team and travel around the country and travel down to the area ALOT per year, and we will absolutely deter anyone within our org and others who travel. Absolutely insane customer service. Learn how to treat the people staying at your facility or you will be out a job. Just because you have a good rate, doesn't mean you can treat patrons like 2nd class citizens. Absolutely ridiculous. It's a busy weekend for every hotel in the area, so don't get on here and reply that that would be the issue. We visited friends at other hotels while we were down, and they were completely booked, but welcomed every patron who came in, and was courteous even when we were guests of another hotel. Staff at this hotel should be ashamed...
