Firehouse Subs Sunrise Blvd. — Restaurant in Fort Lauderdale

I've been here a few times and each time I've left underwhelmed. The first two times it took close to 30 minutes to get my sub and there weren't many customers. This last time they got my order wrong. I ate it because I was starving. Lastly each time the person behind the register had the personality and linguistics of a rock. They were hard to understand (they mumbled inaudibly). And this last time I had to repeat my order 3 times, which they still got wrong (Turkey, Tomato, Lettuce, Green Pepper, and cuke on wheat turned into a Turkey, Swiss, Lettuce, tomato, Mayo on wheat). The food quality for this type of place is actually pretty good and I like the mission, but I will be seeking another sub establishment in the future. Location is kept fairly clean. I was there an hour before close and there was no wait. Had beef and cheddar brisket. I wanted to compare it to the Firehouse I order from in Tampa. The suppliers are different and I could tell some differences. The brisket was good but there was something about it that threw me off. Again it could have just been minor differences in flavor or texture due to supply variance.

I also ordered 2 cookies. They only had one chocolate chip left which was my preference. They allowed me to sub out one of the cookies for a brownie which I thought was more than fair. Given the opportunity I'd definitely give this place...

90% about my experience was excellent. The food is 5/5, service was excellent (the two gentlemen were very respectful and customer service oriented), and atmosphere felt strong. I give a 4 star because the prices are a little crazy and you can't customize (that much). Just the meatball sub sandwich was $14... Drink and chips not included. And the customization was pretty minimal in comparison to Subway. I would admit the food does taste amazing and the portions are slightly larger here, vs Subway. I think I would probably rather save $6 and get a fully customizable sub at Subway, but if you're into higher end premium subs, Firehouse is...
